Love the red on the pages. I’ve had many Bibles in my life that had the red page edges. It’s so wonderful to hear your voice. I’m keeping you in my prayers ❤️ 🙏
I love this bible....so much so that I wish there were more like it. And I've said since I bought it that if Thomas Nelson offered this in a traditional personal size, 8.5x5.5, with the same floppy leather cover, same paper (with the red dye on the edges), and reduced the font size to maybe 10.5...I would never need another KJV. The only change I would make to the layout is to add archaic word renderings at the bottom. Keeping the same paper would keep it light and thin (the paper is opaque enough anyway)...and of course keep the gothic font for the cover. I believe that would be the PERFECT vintage-inspired bible.
That red letter is way too bright (too much white in the red) for me otherwise I would pick one up. If Thomas Nelson would just darken the red ever so slightly, it would make the KJV better. I love how Crossway, Zondervan and Tyndale do their red letter, it almost looks crimson or burgundy. Another thing I wish was in modern printings of the KJV was the Preface “The Translators to the Reader” then it would be a true KJV. Great review as always from the queen of Bible reviewers. ☺️👍🏼
I just received this Bible about a month ago. It is beautiful. Top notch! I needed a good Bible for preaching and I saw this one and knew this was it! Great leather, soft, flexible, clear font, three satin ribbons, lay flat design and all for $66 on Amazon. Its a win win situation. And yes, put this design in a personal size and it would be hard to beat but even the current size is very manageable and comfortable to hold.
Your right the red gilding does remind you of the old time printed Bibles. Thomas Nelson did a nice job. Thank you 🙏🏽 for the video. Blessings to you.😇🙏🏽💞👍🥰
I love the red page edges. I can actually see that red and it doesn't hurt my eyes. I have a black thinline ESV that I'm thinking of getting a blue or geranium ink to apply to its pages. I watched a few how to videos and I'm confident that I would be able to do it.
I think the nicest feature of Thomas Nelson KJV editions is the generous number of subject headings added. It really helps readability by breaking up long blocks of running text into meaningful sections. The KJV translation stops marking paragraphs at Acts 20:36 for some reason. Beyond that you only get chapter divisions. The headings really help especially in a verse by verse format. It's a pity that the "Translators to the Readers" preface and the actual translator notes are missing in this edition. I like the red page edges but I don't like red letter text in general.
What a beautiful Bible! My first Bible as a child in the 60's was a Revised Standard Version with that beautiful red art gilding. Love the 2K Denmark typeface and the large print. Thank you so much for yet another great review!
Great review as always 🤗 I've had this one sitting in my office for a while and never reviewed it. I think I'll just do a little visual tour and direct people to your video ☝ Blessings my friend ✝🙏🏽
So happy to see you back, thanks for the review. That's a beautiful Bible. The red letter is a deal breaker for me 😔 Again I love the "Comfort print onlyist" comment 🤣. This may be a weird question. Do you know why the columns are separated by that line? Is it just a style choice?
To the channel author: I love the quality and detail of your reviews! Perhaps you can help me identify a specific bible…. Do you recall reviewing a single column reference bible with an updated layout that places the cross references in the gutter so that the scripture text is moved more to the center of the page? I’ve been watching a ton of bible reviews by you and Tim Wildsmith lately, and I remember seeing the review and layout of this bible (and I really liked it), but I cannot remember which bible it was. Any ideas? Thank you!
It sounds like the NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible. Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MS2VyvYqUxc.html
@@BibleBelievingChristian Thank you so much for your reply. I think you are absolutely right - t and I love that layout and all the content of that bible. Seems like another desirable study bible with a similar layout is the (Cowhide, Deep Brown). I'm also taking a close look at that one. Thanks agiain!
@@BibleBelievingChristian I meant to type, "It seems like another desirable study bible with a similar layout is the ESV Study Bible (especially liking the Cowhide, Deep Brown version). Thank you for that review as well!
Hi there, I was wondering if you would do a video on your reading routine? Like you I collect different translations and editions and have found myself a little overwhelmed. I don't know whether to do a Bible in a year reading plan and just do a different translation a year or just read straight through, time is a factor and I want to read other book also so I was wondering what you did. Thanks for what you do, I have bought some beautiful Bible's which I discovered through this channel. God Bless and thank you for your time.
I would recommend doing the one year reading plan because it breaks it up into 15-20 minutes per day and you read some of the OT, NT, Psalms and Proverbs every day and it keeps it to where you won’t get bored because if you do cover to cover a lot of people will get bored once they reach Leviticus and Numbers so by breaking it up the way the one year plan does then you won’t get bored or lose interest because you’re also reading the New Testament at the same time. And I always print out the PDF so I can mark it off each day after I’ve done my reading and that way you can use it with various Bibles. It’s an awesome reading plan. Here’s a video I did a few years ago on it. I’ve got the PDFs linked with this video so you can download it and print it. Hopefully this helps. Thank you for the review. I rarely see Thomas Nelson use a bright red for their red letters. But aside from that, this is indeed a good Bible. Price indicated on the tag is a bit too high though, too close to CBP Bibles. And I just want to let you know that I am glad to see you uploading again 🥹.
