It's unbelievable how he can sing with this deep resonant voice and still utter those heavenly operatic sounds! What a range indeed! He brings a whole new beauty to this song.. "I - can't - help - falling - in - love - with - him!" Sorry, I know it's corny but I had to say it! I love him! I love Klaus!
Nah ;) Ofc, he's brilliant, technically, completely not taking into account his personal circumstances. But his range really is within 2-2.5 octaves, which is to be expected from a very professional artist. Which he was, foremost of many others :D
None of this is gender related it is just about being ourselves. I am old enough to have gone to way too many shows where I look back and Klaus was just perfect and telling us be ourselves

I'm doing research for a teacher friend and came across Beethoven's piano sonata (no. 8, op. 13) and I was clicking through the movements and I realized I knew the second one, but I couldn't remember where and it was driving me crazy - I knew I'd heard it, and I knew I'd heard it played super dramatically, and I was humming it over and over and FINALLY I remembered and it was this!! It's the opening piano bit for this! Ah Klaus Nomi, you've done it again
I was surprised by his deep, rich voice. I didn't realize he could sing beautifully in deep tones as well as high tones. So gifted. So unique. So different. So, so missed.
Those of you who are intrigued by Nomi's range (and also of course his unique and strange presentation) may enjoy Peru's famous Yma Sumac. Her range was over four octaves, and she often employed many strange vocal effects as well, from deep growls to a bizarre double voice. Her performance "Chruncho" is an excellent sample of her range and style.
WOW, what a beautiful voice!...his vocals touch something deep inside of me...my whole body and most of all my chest is vibrating with him when he sings this song....as well as all his songs, btw Thanx for posting!
Well I wouldn't say that, I believe both have a great quality they bring to the song. And unfortunately both of them left the world a bit too early. If it was up to me I would have them both back still singing music or at least have given both just a little bit more time on this world.
