The song's called "Guilty Love" because according to the lyrics that accompanied the official Japanese lyrical version of the song, it's about a man who wishes he could do romance with his girlfriend, but can't because he's on duty as a prosecutor to a courtroom case.
I love how Kristoph's design makes him look like a wholesome and mature man while Klavier's gives him the typical "bad boy" vibe. As it turns out, Kristoph is the one who's evil and manipulative and Klavier the one who's responsible and committed to finding the truth, no matter the cost. Moral of the story: looks are deceiving.
I love how Kristoph's design is very cliche for manipulative villain trope who acts like a nice guy but actually a demon. I spotted his true color right off the bat.
Klavier honestly looks nicer than Kristoph though, when it came to facial expressions Klavier definitely looks nicer and welcoming, while Kristoph either has the same nice smile or sketchy ass face
Klapollo is one of those pairings people can try and deny that they're canon, but in the end it's just so painfully obvious that it can't be stopped. like seriously "i'm used to BEING INSPECTED BY THE LADIES (aka romantic stuff), but this is the first time I've felt this way with a man" WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT MEANS. IT MEANS IT'S CANON LADIES AND GENTS.
*Other prosecutors* : physically and mentally abuses the defense attorneys, brings coffee, whips and others to court and abuses people with it, and most only cares about wins, etc *Klavier Gavin* : only teases Apollo abt his forehead, "Achtung, baby!" as he slams the wall and does a sick air guitar solo for 5 seconds
@@guynameddibin but then zak ruined it all, but the problem is that kristoph wanted to seek revenge which is the worst thing, i mean if i was him i would just tell klavier to get off the case and just accept what happend
I Only hated Klavier when he teased about Phoenix for losing his badge in Case 2 Apollo Justice, otherwise, he is a TRUE prosecutor. You know what I mean....
Some fun facts about Klavier: •Klavier isn't actually German, he just studied there for two years. •'Klavier' is the German word for 'piano' • Achtung, baby! = Attention/Look out, baby! Herr = Mister (Mr.) Fräulein = Miss (Ms.) • He's probably born in the year 2002
Litrally the only prosecutor in the series, who cares about the truth instead of a perfect record, without him, turnabout succesion would've been an impossiple to win it
As a German, I still find it hilarious and kinda awesome that all the prosecutors in the English version are from or at least studied in Germany. Klavier's German phrases always make my day. Achtung Baby!
@@plasma2125 I have no clue on Klavier since I am not a big fan, but in other games, japanese prosecutors went studying to America, which was then changed in localisation to Germany. That's the case with Edgeworth, Von Karmas, Athena Cykes and probably Klavier as well.
@@xela4183blackquill, the paynes, and the blue haired one that looks like wallace from pokemon emerald are the only exceptions, but half of them have prosecuted in another country anyways
This is like the juxtaposition to Godot. It’s brilliant. Godot and his theme were suave and different to everything else previously seen and brought a halt to everything else in the room, leaving only himself, accentuating his presence as the strongest of any prosecutor. Over time the theme evolves from unusual and slow jazz to a tragic token shared with a ridiculously tragic character and once it transforms you can never go back to its feeling the first time you meet him. This, however, is the sort of music that at first sounds brash, fast, cocky, cool and overwhelming. It of course gives Klavier the appearance of a punky, youthful rock star. You get no sense of anything deeper. No underlying aftertones. When he joins Apollo in bringing his own older brother to justice however, the music then transforms into the energetic, climactic anthem of a hero that isn’t corrupt. Isn’t bedevilled. He just seeks the truth. He accepts his brother is disposable, even uttering such to his own prideful face. The sad facts of his brother’s awful wrongs do not falter his pure image. He doesn’t try to protect him nor does the conclusion phase him. In that moment he is a grown prosecutor, fully out of the shadow of Kristoph. Two amazingly brilliant and completely opposite prosecutors. I love Ace Attorney so much.
During the concert, in the part where his guitar catches fire, you can see him in the background crawling on the ground trying to extinguish the fire lol
I sure would have loved to see how Klavier grew as a prosecutor much like Edgeworth but Sense Apollo never had a direct named sequel and thanks to the no spoiler rule we couldn't see that and Klavier is just in DD because he has to be. Great points you brought up btw.
It shows how Klavier never bore any ill will to his opponents or an obsession with winning like most other prosecutors in the series. Personality-wise, he's actually one of if not THE best from start to finish. He doesn't routinely abuse the judge or the defense, is extremely honest with whatever evidence he finds, doesn't develop tunnel vision to get a guilty verdict if he finds the defendant to be innocent, and he's able to actually control even the more wacky individuals who take the witness stand.
@shadowstar8619 when he presents evidence against the defendant he is simply doing his job. He doesn't know if they are innocent or not but he expects the correct answer to be found by him and the defence attorney presenting their cases. It's not a game for him to try and win. The defence isn't an enemy just someone else seeking the truth. It says a lot about him that he invites Apollo to his concert. Even if they had to pau for the tickets he still thought to invite them even though they met on opposite sides of a courtroom
OBJECTION! how could you have murder the replay button... if it was ALREADY DEAD!!?? you have no evidence to support your claim, your alibi is water-proof, while HIS is like a swiss cheese. just look at HIS face, you can clearly see that HE is the murderer. if you keep saying those stuff we might think that you are being blackmailed by someone who has "proof" that your sister commited murder. with all of those evidance, we can clearly see that only one person can be the real murderer is actually: ME!!!!
Major Bob i would prove that my grammer isn't good by making intentioally, obvious mistakes, but "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" so both our arguments are invalid(in case you wonder, "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo" is a gramicly correct sentance.)
Gavin playing his song: "Can you prove your point, Herr Forehead?" Apollo: "Of course I can!" Gavin: "And?" Apollo: "Just a minute, your song's too awesome to interrupt..."
Hmmm... Iris left Phoenix after incident with Dahlia, 5 years later they've met again, some time later he lost his badge, and after seven years he regained it, by the time of Dual Destinies they haven't been together for about 13 years in total. Klaviers first song was "13 years hard time for love". Iris dissapeared from Phoenix's life because she felt guilty for deceiving him. Klavier's theme song is "Guilty love". Curious...
He's actually not German, he's American. He must have just studied German at some point. If you listen to his quotes (his "Objection!" shout and his lines in Dual Destinies), he actually doesn't have a German accent.
I didn’t like that because he was so natural with his adding of German words in his sentence. I really, really liked it. But hey, at least he’s still language buddies with Athena
***** Ha...! I have a feeling you've never met Trite if you think defense attorneys are 'too strong'. Then again... *Smirks before drinking a cup of blend 56* That bizarre wolf-man haircut tells me you two must surely frequent the same barbershop and use the same partially-blinded barber. Like two coffee beans in the same blend, huh?
Swagbito Uchiha Ha...! I guess that means I'm hotter than that wannabe samurai. Life is but one fleeting moment, too ephemeral to waste on a cold cup of coffee. After all, you can always make another one. That's one of my rules.*Smirks, sips cup of coffee blend 87*
Swagbito Uchiha Do you mean the tea-sipping Von Karma Jr.? He may be a competent prosecutor but never trust a man that willingly chooses tea over coffee. That is also one of my rules.*Smirks*
When you think about it, he's one of the characters that suffered the most during Apollo justice... Yet he left without leaving a trace and we never got to see him overcoming his trauma Yes he's my favorite Edit : am I the only one who can't take his angry sprite seriously? I feel like he's trying so hard to be intimidating but ends up looking like a furious kitten
@@poopiheadinc.3851 nah, actual character development would require the game to focus on new characters, which takes precious time away from wrightworth baiting.
Sorry, that should be be 'Aint no person alive can resist the air guitar'. Klavier respects and attracts all people: Man or Woman, Black or White, Prosecutor or Attorney - there are no boundaries to his allure.
has anyone noticed that when klavier play his air guitar during court, he plays left handed. but when he performs, he plays right handed. that just makes him more awesome because hes ambidextrous on the guitar.
am i the only one satisfied with his story as it is? i see so many people say he had a setup for an amazing arc but it wasn't properly explored, or that he deserved to have a more emotional story, etc. and like... i get the appeal of the seemingly perfect star cracking under the pressure after losing one of his best friends AND his brother in such short time, and realizing that he helped the latter ruin someone's life without knowing when he was just a child. it would be the best kind of angsty. i totally understand. but also, i find it super refreshing to have someone that's simply a mentally stable person that can handle shit like this happening, without being a boring or flat character. i think the final trial in turnabout succession still conveyed his jnternal conflict and emotions well, without it being a dramatic over the top scene centered around him. we have enough prosecutors with a huge pile of trauma that impacted them in various ways, it's nice to have someone who also had fucked up things happen to him and turned out fine.
I have to say, when this plays at 4-4 when Apollo says "Mr. Gavin, don't forget what is most important." And hes there snapping his fingers and reply "I have never once in my life forgot what It is most important" *points finger* "That is the truth" and guilty love starts playing
In terms of prosecutors, I think Klaiver is my favorite in the whole series. He has the same quality as Edgeworth where he's willing to sacrifice his guilty verdict to find the truth, but unlike Edgeworth, Klavier is very respectful to Apollo, the judge, and the witnesses. Edgeworth's constant smug energy is great, but there's something to be said for a prosecutor who Apollo can actually confide in as a friend (perhaps more depending on who you ask). The conversation between him, Apollo, and Trucy during Turnabout Serenade is honestly my favorite part of the case, since for once, there are no stakes and no grudges. It's just two lawyers and a magician hanging out, and it's very refreshing. Plus, his air guitar shenanigans were the only thing keeping me sane during the first half of Turnabout Corner, so he gets bonus points there.
I like the fact that when he and this theme returned in Dual Destinies, the song stayed excatly the same, no remake of it. It sort of emphasises that this is an actual song that is present in their world as he is an artist.
I've always wondered if the choice to have chains of all things be the Gavinners' big thing was symbolism for Kristoph's hold over him. A lot of Klavier's character traits are explained quite easily when you consider him growing up with a manipulative if not outright abusive brother, between the excessive perfectionism that's quite literally ruining his relationships with his bandmates and his first reflex when in distress being to cover his ears and close his eyes, not to mention his complete shift in attitude as soon as his brother is in the room. It kinda seemed like the setup for Klavier's arc was him trusting the system a little too much (so much emphasis on how civic his rock band is, the police posters at his concerts, Kristoph talking about finding the truth in 1-4 only for Klavier to echo that very same wish) and the events of AJ shattered his pretty naive views, which lead to him pointing out to his brother how self contradictory law is, and in the later games of the AJ trilogy they'd planned (which I will forever mourn) they would explore the harshness of him accepting that the institutions and people he idealised in his fictional legal world were all corrupt to an extent, then trying to move on from there. We'll never know and it makes me sad but it would've been very interesting. What I'm trying to say is Capcom bring back Klavier for AA7 and have him help Apollo change Khura'in's system, it'd give you an easy way out of giving him an actual arc but still be substantial enough for people to be satisfied
I agree with this so much! After the events of the previous game, I really, really want Apollo and Klavier to both be the new mentors if they decided to introduce a new playable character. I hope they're partners in the same law firm, it'd be great
This is imo the best prosecutor He isn't my favorite but he's the best at his job. The point of prosecutors aren't to get everyone guilty nor are defense attorneys meant to get everyone innocent. They both coexist to expose the truth together. Klavier doesn't care about a win record. He only cares about the truth. This is also something Edgeworth began to realise after the events of the first game. My favorite will always be Godot, but Klavier is my second favorite and morally he is much better of a guy. Except for being a perfectionist when it comes to music of course
But godot didn't want to get all guilty's if you played all the games you will see that only von karma franziska and edgeworth was that type of prosecutors and i agree with the list btw
@@igseba1605 never said he did. There is a reason he's my favorite. But morally Gavin is still better because Godot was obsessed with revenge and even committed murder.
@@rbxless I know he wasn't evil but his obsession with revenge and his hatred towards certain characters clouded his judgement. That's why morally he is much worse than Gavin.
Klavier : Herr Forehead, how about we go to bar?But be sure to bring some girls with you! Apollo : I know you only need them! What about me? Klavier : Aww cmon Herr Forehead,if you will miss something again at the trial i will point it out for you. :D Apollo : Deal.

There's actually a lyrical version of this in Japanese, and those have a translation in English. And I, kid you not, one line goes, "Where's this love headed? To find your answer Either go ask the wind Or better yet, go ask Herr Forehead!" And that's when I lost it. 🤣 This guy is such a jokester! Wait a minute, didn't Apollo worked for kristoph, so he must have seen him in kristoph's office, that or he decided to writes lyrics after meeting Apollo.
@@Boopy357 I'm so glad that someone else also thinks that Klavier is a lot like Ken! I think that if Ken were to meet Klavier, they would get along so well! I live imagining them sparring and rocking out with guitars! Imagine if they fused it did an outfit swap! Also, I'm a BIG fan of Ken and Klavier!
Me searching for this song: Search: guilty love Me: ugh no who even is this woman?? Search: guilty love klaiver gavin Me: hell yeaahh now we are talkin!
You know, Klavier reminds me of Edgeworth. Hear me out. Both of them are excellent prosecutors. Both of them search not for a guilty verdict, but the truth, even if that means they lose the case. And both of them help out the main character while simultaneously putting them through a hellish legal battle.
If you think about it Klavier is a great character parallel to Mia Fay. Both were involved in trials where the defendant were poisoned by family memebers. Both act as a mentor to the protagonist of the game. Both had a valuable possession lost during a crime involving them. Both had friends who became criminals. Klavier’s necklace looks like an upside down magmata. Both acted as Whistleblowers in corrupt periods in the legal world.
I was SOOO happy whenever this song played. I just wanted to just get up and dance! xD But sadly I couldn't. There was a case that needed to be solved!!!
A funny thing you can notice while playing the game is when you are scanning foot prints, this dude is wearing shoes with his own logo on them, he probably has underwear with his logo too.
