Klay Thompson breaks the scoring record in a quarter. He goes 13 for 13 from the field and 9 for 9 from three scoring 37 points in the 3rd quarter versus the Sacramento Kings.
People don't understand how amazing this is. He didn't miss. I'm gonna repeat that. He DID NOT MISS EVEN ONCE SCORING 37 IN ONLY 12 MINUTES OF PLAY. Unbelievable. Inhuman.
yes, generally people don't notice just how stunned the Kings players were -- look at @3:20 on the video - a wide-open drive for a layup, just entirely missed and not noticed how bad of a miss it was (and the follow) because people (and the Kings) are all caught up in the moment...
@Hank Chinaski couldn't agree more.. Too many commentators are way too biased with their teams.. These guys give credit where it's due regardless of the jersey the player has on
@@tiltsf and they just let it happen lol. They didnt call a timeout for so long into the quarter, by the time theyd already seen a lead disappear and go down double digits. It happened so fast
@@rudyarmendariz19 you can't double Klay or Steph when they're both out there. When Klay comes back, rest of league should just get on their knees and pray for mercy.
Steph is and always will be celebrated. As for Klay- he's been out for over two years so there hasn't been much to talk about. I feel like these two are getting fair recognition though especially considering they were the talking point of the league for a good 5 years straight.
One of my favorite things to watch during klay’s 37 pt explosion is to see his teammates’ reactions. When they run the elevator door play for klay at 4:00, watch justin holiday’s reaction in the bottom right corner; he already starts to run back and hold up 3 fingers because he knows it’s good.
that was the best bball team to watch ever (beside 14 finals spurs). always seeking for extra pass, spiced w chef off the dribble wizardry and how they bonding with eachother. If you ever played some teamsports, then you know it's nirvana state of mind. and then the crowd and PA doubles that down. i must watch these clips from time to time because it's true magic.
We were in a restaurant, not even a sports bar, when we were watching this. It was in the background, we couldn’t hear anything. But everyone still started to notice that he’s not missing. By the time he made like the 4th 3pt, everyone in the restaurant was screaming after every klay shot. By the end of the quarter everyone was clapping including the staff. It was surreal. This was sports history.
The craziest part about all of this is that Klay was nearly doubled on every shot after scoring his first 19 and it just...didn't matter. Literally the best shooting stretch in NBA history.
@@madmax2718 lmao Munich were overwhelmed by Wolfsburg before Lewandowski was subbed in and he scored 5 goals on 5 attempts. That was striker instinct right there. Scoring 5 goals in football/soccer is equivalent to scoring 50 points in basketball.
I’m a die-hard Kings fan and even I love watching this, because a) there’s not one shred of that team left in Sacramento, b) we are a pitiful organization and the gods have made it clear we will never be happy, and c) come on, who doesn’t love Klay. Go off, (actual) King.
classy man and kings fans deserve better from their org. Always rooted for you guys against LA in early 2000s when we were the most absolutely disgusting team in sports history
I come back to this new and again to make sure it really happened. I’ve been watching the NBA since 1984 and have seen some heat checks along the line, but 12/12 in 9 mins and 40 seconds. 10 points in the last 1:45. It’s insane.
the fuck are you saying, klay scored 37 points in A QUARTER, ben scored 42 in a game, those 2 perfomances CANT be compared, and im not even a ben hater
The announcers were spot on. It was a back and forth game. The kings were up with 7 minutes left in the third, and Klay said "I'm tired of this" and scored 37 for a 24 point lead going into the forth.
I can’t believe it till this day. Amazing job by Klay. Top 5 shooter and DEFINITELY a HALL OF FAMER. I also wanna add how unselfish golden state is with the ball. Curry being the greatest shooter of all time kept feeding klay know he was hot. Incredible performance
Facts... saw him his senior year in high school drop 50 at old arco arena. State championship. Was just walking across half court barely passed the logo. Ball barely touched the net all night smh
Peak Klay is arguably in the top 5 for best SG’s ever. The defense and awareness, plus the ability to run off a screen or spot up catch and shoot. He also had a very underrated driving game and could finish with contact. So sad we didn’t get to see him play through his entire peak😢
They were yelling "Gate", not "Get Him". The Warriors were running a set play called a Curl Gate, if you watch Draymond and David Lee form a gate or wall at the free throw line that stopped the Kings players from following Klay as he passed through for an open three.
Synergist - I know that. He was yelling gate. In high school we ran that play and that's what we called it. So it stuck in my head that maybe the Warriors named the play the same thing.
This performance from Klay Thompson literally saved him from being eliminated from the all star roster that year... I remember when he wasn’t getting enough votes 🗳 during the voting process and all of a sudden he got those last minute votes. Thanks to this phenomenal performance.
I would literally die for someone take me back in time to this very game, erase my memory up to the start of the game, and then give me tickets to see this game so I can experience this live without knowing he is going to have 37 points in a quarter. I would literally die. seeing this game in person without knowing what a miraculous performance klay thompson was going to have would be so insane.
After the match against Portland(21/11/27), Klay sat down on the bench and had an emotional moment for a while It was so sad cause we all know how hard he has been to get back on the game. I miss KLAY so much.. wish him come back healthily and "bang" three pointers as before
This is epic! Crowd cheering, Steph setting Klay up. Steph knew Klay was on fire after 8th point....... he kept feeding him & stepped aside great team work. Defensive rebounds and found Steph or Klay immediately
Sacramento will never recover from this. Not a single miss. This is the type of performance that truly shocks everyone. We are all witnesses to greatness.
This record i think will never be broken. The level of perfection a player will have to play is just close to impossible. The chances of that has to be one in a million if not more.
There are a handful of sports accomplishments that defy belief. Secretariat's tremendous victory in the Belmont, Kirk Gibson's home-run for the Dodgers in the World Series when he hobbled to the plate, etc. This certainly joins that list. Truly amazing.
This is just beautiful, like a thing of beauty. "Oh, he's feelin it!" No doubt about that! It reminds me of a concert when someone in the band goes off and everyone in the room is feelin it, like a hot moment you can never feel again. Klay was feelin it for sure.
cousin's & collison's reactions @ 4:48 are the best. collison was like "wtf" while cousin's facial expression was like "damn." they were like "what could we possibly do" at that point, lmao!!
this warriors team is something else.... breaking the records that supposed to be unbroken... 73 wins, 37 pts in quarter, 400 3pts ....... imo curry will break kobes 3 pts record in one game.... next season.... never seen as good shooting guys like these two......
Lucky enough to have been there that night, I remember just screaming and hugging everyone around you, what a moment such great energy! Incredible performance
