"The Sweet Science" at MSG was easily the largest audience for any klezmer performance in the entire history of the genre. Vulfpeck and Winograd have expanded the scope of klezmer for generations.
@@emorycarroll We need all the genres! Woody already gave us Christmas Jazz Vulf, now Klezmer Vulf. After that... Mark Lettieri and the Fearless Flyers doing Metal Vulf?
Came here looking for a Klezmer version of Dean Town, just got very much klezmerfunkierized. Was disappointed. Went to bed crying. Had to watch MSG again. Jumped out of bed being funked so hard. Went woodchopping and streetfunking and got caught by Yiddish pirates.
lol I know what you mean. Although even though what Jack does in lives gigs is mostly stripped back, as a drummer and keyboardist myself, keeping such a tight, solid groove the way he does, which such feel is harder than it looks.
My goodness visualizers have come so far. I remember not long ago when Bach was visualized as simple dots and lines. Technology these days is astounding.
29:06 Pulling off Jewish-tingled, low volume Leek Dance national anthem is something I never thought of, Mushy Krongold may well be my favorite weebs I've ever seen in my lifetime!
That's Socalled?! :O I saw a documentary about him at the Glasgow Film Festival years ago and every so often I kick myself for remembering him but blanking on his name!
I love how it looks like it might be a vintage recording until you see the plastic water bottle beside the Adidas kicks on the pianist. And I knew Jack could drum but had no idea he could shred like that! Well done! Gonna save up for the vinyl for sure.
A mol is geven a Yid, Hot er gehat a yidene. Hot er geheysn geheysn, Siz ol in koifn flaysh oif shabbes. Shabbes, shabbes shabbes Zug vi nemt men flaysh oif shabbes. Zay nishtumt ken zalts nishtumt keyn shmaltz, Oi ve nemt men flaysh oif shabbes. Yadee bay etc. Repeat with FISH and VAYN.
Shoutout to the guy who went to this live recording thinking it was a Vulfpeck concert! I wanted to say that when this was first posted, but I never got to do it.
