Hello, and thank you for your reviews, as usual. Whether it is the old catalogue, bulletins, or the new video format, I have enjoyed your informative material over the past several years. I have a comment on Klim jackets. In my opinion, the neck collar is way too short in these products. I ride a sport-tourer year-round in Vancouver, B.C. I own and regularly use merino base- and mid-layers, down jacket, and heated liner (the same you carry). I tried several Klim jackets, and the neck collars of the base or mid-layers mentioned above ALWAYS stick out of the jacket collar, essentially negating the purpose of a technical wind- and waterproof garment. Yes, this gap may be minimized, and I do own and use a Halvarsson neck collar bought from your online store. However, a well-built collar or a jacket-specific storm collar is infinitely more effective than any add-on neck tubes (Except for double-layer balaclavas, I suppose). The Halvarsson, for instance, is not waterproof in the back stretch panel, and it does not overlap well with the short neck of a Klim jacket either. I will soon be on the market for a touring suit, and I am leaning towards the Supervent III. Thank you for listening! M
No nickname? Given the quality of your screen presentation I think you’ll be forever known as “Perfectly Adequate Sean” from now on. Cheers, mate: great review!
Klim Kodiak for me. Wonderful product. Worth every penny. Trust in protection is exactly what you do with Klim. When your safety and protection is paramount. Life’s short. Just buy the bike.
Opinions on the video: Camera man needs to zoom in so we can see features and material closer. Know the height and weight and specs of the guy wearing the gear ahead of time; it’s more efficient plus the guy’s voice is unclear and low volume. The info gets lost in the translation so viewers miss it. Great video quality. Excellent to have the guy on the bike to show how the gear relates to sitting and standing on the bike. If that is your actual store, that is the cleanest, most sexy gentlemanly looking bike shop I have ever seen. Makes the women’s powder room look like a shanty!
Really nice. I am 1 74 for 74 kg I hope size 48 will fit me. I am undecided whether to take the rukka realer or this one. Of the rukkz I like the cuff and the neck, really waterproof, while the kodiak will be like that? Do gloves go over the cuffs? Thanks
I took my Kodiak on a 30,000 km ride through 3 continents; America, Europe and Asia. Starting in Miami and ending in Thailand. It was good but a couple of notes. In hot weather -- its just too hot to wear. I had to stop while in Southern China to buy a BMW super light suit -- I would have bought Klim, but that does not exist in South China. In cold weather, like mountains in Kazakhstan, it was not warm enough -- but thats is understandable -- not many suits are designed for that. I own a Klim Adventure that I took on a 18,000km ride through South America and it was just too heavy with all the armor. I love the protections, but it was too hard to carry everywhere because of the weight. I have owned Badlands on other trips to Utah for example, but the new suit is not designed for anyone shorter than 5'11" and I am 5'9". Kodiak with its "D" sizing fits perfect for my 175 lb frame. Great suit but I'm always searching for something better...
Wot about the Carlsbad with perhaps an electric vest/pants underneath? I’m curious as I’m getting into adventure riding and would like to travel overseas( I’m in New Zealand!)
Cold Gecko bugger! 2 suits is getting expensive! Yeah not sure where I’m going specifically at mo.... Europe Asia and eventually the states but as u would appreciate it now depends on this virus situation! But it sounds like we’re similar size and for Europe/states it would be a good set up......
Every Motolegends director has problems that camera does not give 5-10 sec close up of detail mentioned about. Again and again. This is too wide angle to keep it longer for 3 min. ...or yse fish eye next time and be happy. I like store interior design, but enough is enough. Excellent idea to make few competitive comparisons.
Great video and I like how you pulled out the Badlands jacket for comparison Do you sell Alpinestar ? do they have a comparable jacket ? Is the Kodiak the best suit on the Market ?
Love your channel but what on earth is a "pant"? I understand "pants" but I think you mean "trousers". Nonsensical marketing-speak like that just diminishes your credibility. Apart from that keep up the good work.
