RMS Power - 150 Watts RMS 350 Watts Dynamic
Amplifier - Class D
Frequency response - 31 - 120 Hz ±3dB
Cabinet - Black
Dimensions (H x W x D) - 15.5 x 12.5" x 17"
Weight - 27 lbs.
MSRP Value - $350
Where I Purchased - Craigslist
Price Paid - $120

This subwoofer is in fantastic shape
Quality - 7..5
This is a nice little subwoofer with better than average quality, given the low MSRP.
The cabinet is nice and solid and the woofer feel nice and stout.
Bass - 7.5
This “little” subwoofer puts out nice and quick bass. It is mush better suited in small to medium sized rooms and it can start getting a little too frantic, when asked to dig too deep.
The bass is articulate and punchy but this definitely isn’t a deep-diver, like many of the subs I’ve recently reviewed.
MSRP Rating - 8.0
Getting this performance for $350 is a really good deal. It was an even better value when they went on sale for under $300.
Aesthetics - 7.0
I’ve never been a big fan of the looks of the Klipsch down-firing subs but this one looks fine, as it’s much more compact than the SUB-12 that I used to own.
It won’t win any beauty pageants but it isn’t bad looking either. Just looks like a mid-entry level sub to me, which it is.
Price Paid Value - 7.5
This is the same price I paid for the Monitor Audio BRW-10 sub I just reviewed and I l preferred the MA over this nice little Klipsch sub.
Average Guy HiFi Rating - 37.5/50 = 75%
Final thoughts -
This great little subwoofer can be picked up on the 2nd hand market, quite frequently. Klipsch mush have sold a ton of them.
This is a fantastic option for those looking to move past the HTIB systems but aren’t quite ready to jump into the deep-end of the home theater bass pool.
The fact that they seem to be readily available used, add a second down the road to boost the performance.
Other Equipment used: Episone ES-HT900-LCR-6, ELAN THP525-LS Surrounds, Denon AVR-X3300W Receiver, Marantz MM7055 Amplifier, LG C9 OLED 65” TV, Panasonic DP-UB820P-K 4K Blu-ray Player, Panamax M7500-PRO, Xbox One X
Subscriber Count At The Time Of This Video - 775 (amazing!)

I own this sub and it's bigger brother, SW-450. I purchased both for $200 each. I am very pleased with the sound. I am running both in my living room.

They are a really nice value, especially on the 2nd hand market! You should keep your eyes peeled for another SW-450, so you can run matching dual subs. I’m sure you’ve got them nicely dialed in but I’ve always had better performance running dual of the same sub. Thanks again for the support, I truly appreciate it!

Picked up one of these at a Goodwill a few years ago for $20. This week, I did the Ikea/Sonos Symfonix Sub hack to add it to my Sonos setup. Works great!

Dang man! $20 is a smoking deal for that sub. How’s it sound? Nice job saving ~ $650, over the Sonos sub. Haha! Thanks for sharing that story, my friend!

@@blazermdx I've never heard a Sonos Sub, so take that for what you will, but I think it sounds great (especially considering the price)! Adding a sub into their system (using an app that'll identify any speaker as a sub to the Sonos app) opens up the midrange on the other speakers in the same "room," expanding the whole range and brightening the sound of the setup overall. I've got it set up with an Arc and another pair of Symfonisks- For my small and crowded house, I'm enjoying the simplicity and flexibility of the Sonos stuff vs my old amp and 5.1 setup.

My friends all have Sonos and they love them for the same reasons, great sound and very simple to operate. I’ve spend many hours listening to Sonos and it’s great sounding gear. Thanks for the feedback, hopefully your comments will save someone out there some money:)

@@blazermdx I picked up an amazing, like-new receiver (Onkyo TX NR818). It does a great job powering my 7.1 setup. The only issue is that because the receiver doesn't support 4K passthrough nor HDR, I have to connect my 4K media player directly to my TV and rely on ARC to send a 5.1 audio to the receiver. Because of this, I am limited to 5.1 lossy audio even for my blu ray rips that have a 7.1 lossless audio track. I'm getting ready to order an HDMI matrix/splitter from Amazon in hopes this will solve my issue, but I thought I'd ask to see if you are familiar with this and know of a tested workaround or specific product, and also shoot an idea of a possible future video for you channel. I appreciate the content you're putting out.

That’s a steal! It is an impressive little sub, especially considering it’s only 8”. Duals would pressurize most rooms in your average house. Good luck with your search! Thank you for posting this comment! My dream would be for people to share deals they snagged, to help point out that there’s bargains to be had everywhere. Almost finished like a used audio equipment Blue Book or something similar. Thanks again and I hope you enjoy your new sub!

This seems like a really low-cost subwoofer that could pair well with computer and/or bookshelf speakers. You could really fill in the sound in a room for a reasonable price point using this, or one like it. The inputs seem simple and easy to drive from a computer or a small stereo, and it would fit nicely under a desk. The cost is low enough to be super-appealing, and in terms of improvement for money, this seems like it would be really hard to beat. Nice choice.

I should have you help write my reviews, you summed this great “little” sub up nicely. Haha This would definitely be a good sub for a computer setup or for someone with a little smaller room. This is a solid performer, especially for what they can be had for these days. Thanks again for the activity, I truly appreciate it! I’m hoping to grow the channel and you are definitely helping me!

Nice score on a good little sub! You would just need to run a RCA from Sub 1 on your receiver to the LFE input on the sub. Will also want to run the calibration again, now that you’ve added a sub into the mix. Congrats on the new addition and I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the question! Depending on your room size, this sub would be a great budget sub in most condo living rooms. You will need to spend time getting it positioned correctly and set up properly, to avoid noise transfer to neighboring units and to get the best out of it but if you get it dialed in, it will meet most people’s needs. It’s a good sub for the money but be sure to s check out the Klipsch sub at Costco for $169 - $189. That’s another good budget option. Thanks for asking, I hope that helps a little!
