I've always said this when Pep and Klopp have been suggested as potential managers for England, international football is not frequent enough to keep their attention. They thrive in a league situation, not eight matches or so a year before a tournament. I also don't think their tactical systems can be implemented in international breaks which only last a week or so.
Southgate has done a great job - At the same time, there's more football in that team than we've shown. I think those things can co-exist. My personal dream list is Carlo, Klopp or Ange ... All pretty doubtful. There isn't an English manager that jumps out though I wouldn't mind most of the names being. I'm not sure about Potter, I want someone who's looking to impose a style on the opposition
Carlo Ancelotti would be the best choice for the England job, most other managers would use a system rather than build around the players (some players may get minor roles then they are used to but Ancelotti seems to make them work together anyhowkr.
Klopp wanted a break and International football would be good for him now, but he said he’s stepping down bc he can’t give his 100% and International football isn’t 100% bc he only gets the players once every few months.
People want Klopp I would think, because they feel his attacking style of football that he played at Liverpool could get the best out of the attacking players England has maybe, but would that really work well at international level, when you only have access to your players for a couple weeks every few months? I dunno.
I dunno, I've watched most of the press conferences and they're not asking hard questions or pressure questions, most of that stuff comes from other countries press. Admittedly, I've paid no attention to headlines, so I might be missing a big chunk of the point
Klopp is far and away the outstanding candidate. But I don't see him taking another job until Christmas. Give it to Carsley as caretaker for 6 months and see how he does. He's been brilliant with the u21s and they've played exciting football. If it doesn't go great try and get klopp for Christmas
Look at Southgate's pre-England managerial career, then realise what kind of manager the FA will choose to succeed him. Maybe Potter will be as daring as they go.

I don't see him taking any job until later coz i feel like he's gonna just vibe and enjoy his sabbatical for a year or two or even more like we've see with Zidane's sabbatical. But yeah fir England i think the next person just needs to be someone who can marry the good emergy and squad building that Southgate had but with better tactical adaptation. Coz Southgate failed to be tactically ruthless at times. A similar progression that we saw with Spain between the Luis Enrique team versus the current De La Fuente team where De La Fuente wasn't married to a system and stuck with his players like wjat Luis Enrique used to do, De La Fuente was more able to use many different profiles and find something that works for "the group" and worked around that. Coz England felt like they had no plan and just used to throw their best XI players on the pitch and hope something worked when in reality sometimes the best solution will require dropping some players and what not and finding the configuration that best works rather than trying to force the group into a way of playing.
Klopp would get those playing better and would undoubtedly make England a better team but one massive thing i think you actually missed is the fact hes German, he's loyal, he has integrity and i think he would feel as though he is betraying his nation, his friends his family etc and therefore he couldnt really commit to the job although i bet hes definitely thought about it, because lets be honest it yiu could remove the toxicity from the media, fans etc it really is an exciting project and its close to fruition and with Klopps exoerience i think he could match and better Soutugates legacy.

They need someone who understands the premier league and limits of the players to play their style. Can’t see it myself with the FA’s huge investment in St George’s park. The FA want an English manager especially after the experience with Capello a d Ericsson.
The hubris of English fans is incredible. Do you really think Klopp, who has been hunted by the German FA for the job for years will come in to manage the most overhyped players in Europe?
Little perspective. One of the greatest managerial tourneys ive ever witnessed was Otto Rehhagel for Greece. Greece and the germans historically , almost as bad if not worse tha uk/germans pre 2004 euro win , as fascism / military juntas preceded for years before the starvation during ww2 occupation by nazis (flag on parthenon etc). It does not matter and anyone who still thinks it does, is insane. Give someone worth their salt the job. Otto went into the Euros with that greek team to win it, not to have a good showing, and the team altho setup defensively BOSSED every big team thrown their way, some twice over!
I love Klopp, but for everyrhing that’s holy, please stay away from the English national team. The amount of hate the English have for LFC and its players will only intensify. Remember how rivals and others talked about Klopp, TAA, etc. it would be even worse if he took over. I think Klopp is smart enough to realize to stay far away as he was clearly sick of the media here. Idk why the Americans and now the English don’t listen to what Klopp clearly stated so many times. He’s taking at least a year off of football. Period. I see him going back to club football, maybe in Germany or the Netherlands. As a final club before taking over the German national team.
He left Liverpool because he was tited but i doubt hes going to take the english job because of the pressure. Its even worse than in Liverpool and the fans arent as supportive as they are in Liverpool. And he cant exactly sign players from other teams 😂
There's no chance Klopp would manage England and I would even be surprised if he was being considered. I would love to see a young progressive manager who is tactically aggressive in play style. Amorim perhaps. No one faults Southgate for his success and progress in other areas but his play style is risk management, you can win tournaments that way but England fans are now used to seeing sexy football every week during the season. Fans didn't boo Southgate because of his results, it was because the football they played was just ugly and lacking the kind of excitement that stirs the masses. Knowing the F.A, I'm sure they will go Potter though since he is close enough to Southgate for them to not get forced into being creative
