I work for myself. For years I did the go to work thing. Busted my ass and my back to get others rich. I don't miss it! As you said I had to make some sacrifices for a while but it was definitely worth it. I'm not rich but I make enough to say I made the right decision.
same thing here, I'm just getting started and still my bills are paid so I am happy, I can't afford to go out or go on long rides right now, but I am not letting anyone else decide what my worth is... the harder and the more I work the more I will make and the better I will feel. We sometimes have to work hard for a while before really seeing the benefits of what we are doing but they will come.
I use the Ghost XL pro camera, and a phone mic, like you would plug into a phone with the ear buds, however you have to cut the ear buds off and glue a dead cat around the mic, Also you need an this adaptor. amzn.to/4d5BOFE that will allow you to use the Phone mic. You can get the camera at Drift Innovations web sight, and the mic you can buy pretty much at Walmart, just remember that it's a regular plug in mic with ear buds the old school ones we used to use before blue tooth. once you get the camera and only the Ghost XL pro will work this way, the others will not, make sure you get the Ghost XL with stabilization, you will set the camera to 2.7 K Stabilization turned on, set the video quality to vivid, then set the Mic input to 1, any higher it will get distorted to much from the wind. I punched a hole the front of the cheek pad right next to my mouth going thru to the ear opening, ran the mic thru that so it keeps the mic right there by my mouth. don't put the mic inside the pad leave it sticking out, and then mount the camera where you want it, it will take a couple rides to get the camera angle right and the lens turned correctly, but once you do all that you are ready to go. Also you will have to have an editing program so you can edit the video and volume it up, you will need to do this twice, if you want to be able to hear it on you tube. Just watch a you tube video and remember that volume and try to match that with editing and voluming up the video. that way it will turn out really good. here is a link to the mic I use. amzn.to/4d3u9HX This set up works great if you do it right, if not it will be a struggle to get things right and working. Remember only set the mic on the camera to 1 if you go up from there the wind noise and the sound of the bike will distort your voice. PS, if you are using a dual sport helmet like the one I am wearing in this video, you can set the camera mic on two, And always speak with your normal voice no matter how loud the wind and traffic are in your ears, normal voice at all times going fast or slow either way.
Well that's the thing, I am holding my ground on what I want and they will either use me or not right now it would be nice to have that contract but it's not the end of the world if I don't get it, that will be their loss way more than my loss...lol
you if you work for someone else you have to do that. When you work for your self you get up early and get out there be early to every job if you can and keep a good attitude so people like you and want to tell other people about you.
