Rainbow Road - The Hanmer to St Arnaud Road is a wilderness riding experience across landscapes that transition from scree-scarred mountains to rolling tussocklands.
Started my journey in Hanmer Springs, a Canterbury's Alpine Spa Village, 134km north of Christchurch. Access is also available from St Arnaud, sign posted for the Rainbow Ski Field, 131km from Picton. This 112km gravel road normally only open from Boxing Day to Easter Monday.
