Here's a real treat - my oldest Yakima sign-off ever! KNDO Yakima signs off the air early on March 15th, 1981. Hugh Davis is the voiceover (he was the founder of Columbia Empire Broadcasting, which owned KNDO-KNDU). There are shots of a farmworker picking cherries, and a family fishing at the lake. The Air Force variant of the National Anthem follows. Then there's a bumper for KNDO's STL links, and the carrier is cut. This sign-off video is likely from no later than 1979 based on the logos.

The background music sounds like it came from the NBC 1974-75 promo campaign "Turn on the Network of the New NBC"

Which means they may have used elements of a previous sign-off montage, the likes of which I will probably never find (pre-Beta/VHS)! - Taylor

The 1984 signoff vid you have, likely used the same message. That said, what is the song that plays during the signoff message?

The 1984 sign off went straight into the national anthem and did not have this video on it at all. Interestingly, I have 'seen' a revised 1985 sign off floating through a late night KIMA recording (must have been bleeding through), but have never found it in its entirely. - Taylor

Awesome! I see that this was during the hiatus after Jean Doumanian’s firing and before Dick Ebersol’s hiring. They must have shown old episodes to fill the airtime.
