I listen, as an older veteran, and I listen to podcast from Rob Oneil to Shawn Ryan to Ryan fugit,; and I think that they are all great! But I think that Mike is the best. Not only is a warrior for our country, but he is a great interviewer. He is smart, and his one liners are as funny as fuck. He's straight forward and honest and says it like it is. Every guest is interesting and I wish that I had known about this podcast long before now. Mike, thank you for your service and educating people with your podcast. To me, you are a legend.
I have to say that I think that CAG is the tip of the sphere, but maybe I'm bias. You are awesome Mike, keep it up. If the shit hits the fan, I would be blessed to follow you and your guest. I met Shane today. He came into 5.11 Tactical and I was working the cash wrap. We talked about Monkey. I was wearing my trident pendant and asked about whom. I mentioned Monkey’s name and we went down a rabbit hole to the assistant manager 😂. Thank you Shane for making my day a better one, especially this weekend!

I was enlisted Marine fortunate enough to get a slot to Annapolis. I thought I was the shit, cocky Marine corporal, until that 1st semester kicked me square in ballsack. Failed chem, calc, physics. Did 3 years of summer school. My advisor was like “yeah, so you need to pick a group 3 major like history, English, poli sci”. My company mate buddy wanted to be a seal. He was a stud. He was also mechE major. He’d come back from exam and be like “the high grade was a 33”. It was ridiculous really.

Yeah…I was at the U of A in ‘95…we had to do an initial PFT, and Hiatt was there…It like he first saw the Easter Bunny isn’t real…some of us may have been chubby and slow….🎉…then I may have seen him shirtless, no helmet, on a loud motorcycle, with nip rings…on campus….on the day we all in dress uniforms…but he always looked like he knew what he was doing and had a smile and was a cool hustler…🎉
Listening to the abuse this man and his siblings went through breaks my heart. As a father of 3, it’s hard to fathom how a man could abuse a child, mentally or physically.
I remember, shane we both rented rooms in a house in VA beach and he stayed across the hall from me. He had a pet python that would break loose, and the owner of the house was always worried about his cat. It would happen when Shane was out on a military exercise and I was new to team 8. So the owner and I will go looking for the snake and we would find it in the closet or some unexpected place.
Interesting that Mike knows about Rio Rancho. Had to laught about UHauls in Albuquerque. So many families make the news that were passing through Albuquerque and woke in their motel off the freeway to find all their shit had been stolen. Happens so often.
