Haha, for sure. If I had a nickel for everyone I bit myself with a knife? Well, I’d have a lot of nickels. Thanks for watching my friend. Looking forward to your next video!
Hey Rhino, thanks so much for watching. And thanks to my pal BigRed for sending you. Thanks for the commment and kind words. I hope you enjoy the videos. Cheers my friend!
Nice kit dude I have one but I need a decent storage device And as it happens a driver set. I have sharping devices Rusty’s rags cleaning kits ( won a few in contests back when every one was giving them away) and a strop with different kinds of compound
Nice!! I love stropping my knives. If you do it often enough it saves a lot of time having to sharpen. If you need a driver set you have to check out the Wiha bit selector. 👍🏻
Excellent kit you've put together Sean! I am a big Wiha believer as well. Get yourself one of the blue loctite sticks: you'll never go back to the liquid again.
Hey there Blades & More! Thanks for watching. They’re certainly handy, and I’ve found that the pre-made kits are generally overpriced with inferior products. Also, I enjoyed your FH51 review recently. It’s a great knife. I need to catch up on your recent videos. Cheers!!
It is a cool little kit! I enjoy disassembling and assembling knives and adding little improvements to them so this kit is right up my alley. The Ganzo FH51 is a nice little piece. I also ordered the new FH41 that is on it's way to me which is a little larger like the FH11 and FH21.
I’ll look forward the the FH41 review. I’m hesitant just due to size as I tend to prefer smaller knives but the entire FH series has been great so I’m sure I’ll end up with one st some point!
I understand you size preference issue and I also prefer to carry a mid-size knife as my EDC. I have very few 4" blade knives in my collection so I generally stay away fro anything too much larger than a 3.5" blade.
Nice, concise kit. I have a similar setup. Wiha torx set, I have been using Balistol or BreakFree CLP for lube. It's always on hand for the firearms and has never failed to work well on the knives.
Amen to that. I’ll occasionally use Balistol or even some Hoppes if I’m in the shop and it’s closer than going and grabbing this kit. Is it weird that I love the smell of Balistol? I also wipe down my Carbon Strel blades with Balistol if it’s one I don’t carry often and is more of a collectible or display piece. 🤙
Nice!! Yeah man it’s nice and convenient. I hadn’t thought about lights, hmmmmm. Damnit, now I have to build another kit, haha. Thread grease, spare o-rings, etc. 🤔🤔🤔
@@GearedTowardGear1 i do also suggest adding spare charging cables like the magnetic ones for olight or the type-c for the Brinyte PT18 and spare batteries or micro usb for those batteries with built in charging abilities like the cells from klarus
Depends if you take it out in field if so would recommend the Worksharp guided field sharpener they make the one that Zach has with Benchmade. I have a Scout leather tool precision driver 1/4 inch driver with the bits which are Wiha. I also have the Knife maintenance and builders kit I got from KC it was recommended by Chris from Sheepdog knives said it was what he used. Has fixed screw drivers with bits permanently on. Also has a set or Wiha bits and a magnetic driver. Then I have KPL lube, EDCi for blade protection, and tooth picks and Q tips. Want to get KPL Heavy for pivot. Need to get blue thread locker and grafite. I have a tray for parts I got from TKT Todd knife and tool and the large one holds all parts and tools. Then have a round gear like one from TKT that hold bits and 1 driver. One item I really want is a mat with edges to prevent any non captured bearings. Preferably with some compartments in plastic for keeping things in order. I need a bag like that for field work. Enjoyed seeing your kit.
Damn, Rick - you need to make a video on your kit because it sounds way nicer than mine! Sounds like you have your bases covered my man. I think I will look at a compact sharpener just for the hell of it even though it doesn’t leave the house often.
Hey NOYB! Thanks for watching! You have a good eye! Yeah, it was a perfect place for that Ganzo bag/cloth. I have several and they just sit in the box so I figured might as well put one to good use.
Very well thought out maintenance kit! Adding a small ceramic "touch up" rod sounds like a great addition. This is a good prompt as I certainly need to get my knife maintenance tools more organized (bandaids are always at hand :)) Thanks!
Good video. Thanks. Found your comments on ratchet drivers interesting. Just prior to that I was thinking to myself, I think I'd rather use a stubby ratcheting screwdriver, like the Kamasa one that store the bits in the handle. You made me reconsider.
Hey James, thanks for watching! The ratcheting thing is a preference of mine, but I think if your careful they’re perfectly fine (I’ve simply not been careful a couple times, lol). And I would agree that the ones with bit storage in the handle I’m not a fan of. Again, personal preference. As long as you can get the job done I guess, right? Thanks again for watching and for the comment!
