@@scarto3887 I know the karambit was made designed for combat, but the specific one in the video is not, and the "demo" was just for show, you can see it barely does any damage. I never said letter openers need locking mechanisms, I said that this knife wasn't made for and will probably never see combat. And I'm not a fictional character, I'm just a guy that has batman as his profile pic and name, I would have changed but Adam West died and now it feels wrong to change it
@@spike4850 hand made ,designed 175 years ago ,no machining included ,there is only one person alive who makes those ,banned by government 35 years ago.
One of mine invented the machine that makes pre-tied bows, the ones that are on gifts. I can’t remember if it was the plastic or real fabric ones. Also his name is not on the patent because he sold it to someone else.
I love watching your videos because of the improvements in your workshop with every new video. Every awhile you're using a new better power tool and it warms my heart to see the investments you are putting into your passion. Wish you all the best in 2021 and keep the good stuff comming!
Great job on the execution. If you happen to have a few moments let the RU-vid audience know that this design/mechanism was built by Joe Caswell who truly is a credit to his craft. Have a great week ahead.
with how it closes there isn't space for the fingers to get caught on the blade even if it did slip, worst case would be a pinch on the palm of your hand.
It’s a design taken by the ones crkt makes. It’s designed like that cause for the specific intention of not having a blade that can collapse on your fingers. I mean it’s very clear that it can’t fold on your finger s
Most awesome box cutter I've ever seen. I'm not making fun of it. That's just all I would use it for. I saw people mention that a safety would be nice and I would only agree if I had that bad ass on my keychain. :)
Offset the front arms from the rear arms just a fraction. Thats how the CRKT has such a nice crisp deployment. Just a suggestion. But I gotta say beautiful work.
I notice the way it opens and closes may effect actual practical use of it in a fighting/self defense scenario. Maybe add a form of locking mechanism? It’s still really cool looking, and the way it folds is pretty cool
I've collected knives for a while now but have really slowed down lately because I'm not going to get anything I'm not going to carry.. I've always wanted a karambit, I would love to carry that beauty. Stellar work!
@@DementedDoom looking at time/production/cost it would be sad if it wasnt. also giving credit or not to someone elses work/design says a lot about a person
Yeah but at least it’s not a direct copy of the caswell design, he made it his own way. And I’m sure there are a lot of people that watch videos like this that aren’t into pocket knives and tactical knives.
Please add credits for the design and mechanism. Joe Caswell is a pillar of the knife community, he deserves recognition for his ingenuity. Well excecuted build, but please - add credits to avoid looking like a doofus.
Why credit someone else when you can plead ignorance, since 99% of the people that watched this video don't know who Joe Caswell is or have never seen the CRKT Provoke, which Caswell licensed to CRKT to manufacture? I bet if you look hard enough, you'll find plenty of rip-offs in this person's videos with 0 credit given.
One of those new knifes of kinda new, What I take it you got your hands on one Looks great and great job making it!!!! Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Yes but this clearly is more of a fun knive If you want something for fighting get a Fox DART, Fox 599, compliance edge knives, stuff from bastinelli etc
That made no sense ,karambit is basically a blade shape and flipper is method of opening of a folding knife. You can have a fixed karambit, flipper karambit, thumbstud karambit, otf karambit.
