Hi everyone. This channel was created as a way to share my passion, a former hobby that has now become something much more. Here I make cool stuff, mostly knives. But slowly, my old hobby is turning into something new for me, and thanks to you and this channel, it's coming to life.
As manufacturing engineer that has worked with drill presses for more than 40 years, I strongly recommend you don't wear heavy gloves. If you could see what I have seen, you would not do it. If you must use gloves wear a disposable surgical glove that will tear away when it gets caught in the tool. Not if, but when it gets caught.
You get a new milling machine? Your Bowie knife is a good size. A lot of knife makers make 'em so big you need 2 hands, LOL. The guard is perfect size, too. This Bowie knife is realistic to what D. Boone, and Davie Crockett would have carried... at least blade wise. Good job bro. Probably better steel... theirs were probably just iron? Love the grip.
Might be a nice knife but it 100% is not forged. Basically, cut out a shape and grind it nicely, if you really want to see a master craftsman watch any Freerk Wieringa video, the guys work is true art. He will make the billet with the % of metals he wants, then forge the knife, and do all the leather work on the scabbard for the knife, many videos of amazing pieces.
