I love my Case sowbelly, I collect old Case stockman knives in particular. My favorite medium sized Case stockman is the 32 pattern. Collectors call it the Texas stock knife, it has a pen blade in place of the Spey blade. I have noticed that any Case knife with Tony Bose’s “TB” in the item number has better fit and finish than the average Case.

I’m the same way, I have 12 modern knives, about 10 fixed blades and over 250 traditionals. I love my bugout and para 2 but there is something about traditional knives that speak to me. A perfect mix of art, design and utility. Only smoking pipes, lighters, eye glasses, fountain pens and watches have that same blend of art and utility that pocket knives do.

Yep it’s just something really cool about them

The case 6347 carries real nice in pocket. Sheepsfoot is almost even with top of clip point blade. Shepherd Hills cutlery has them in yellow Delrin scales 3347 in SS or chrome vanadium.

I have a Case Tony Bose Sowbelly in buffalo horn. It's an exceptionally made knife. The best of my Case collection. Yes, the blades sit high but they do on all stockman type knives. You soon get used to it.

Hate to see Queen close it's doors. I have a few that are as good as GEC.

Love the vid man. I grab some coffee and feel like we are hanging out. Lol. I used to have like 40 traditionals. I ended up selling most but am collecting the again. I am mostly a user so i felt like i didnt need so many blades. Right now i am carrying a gec 66 stockman pattern. At work i just carry a cadet cause i work in a hospital. At home i carry a traditional and a modern folder. Really digging the traditionals more again. Take care bro

Thanks for watching! I usually carry a modern and traditional. Every now and then a fixed blade. I've never tried the Stockman 66

Nice video. Talking on the Buck, I have a 303 with the wood covers. The walk and talk on it was not there at all, matter of fact, it would not pull itself open of closed on any of the blades. I worked them over and over with lubricant, worked them again and a again. After doing this a couple hundred times, the blades will snap open and closed. Kind of disappointed with this knife.

Fantastic video. Thanks so much for the collection review. I also have a combination of US and Chinese slippies ... When I'm mildly interested I purchase Rough Rider or another well-known Chinese knife.👍

Awesome in depth video man! It's crazy, I've always loved pocket knives and I've had a lot. Shirogorov, Chris Reeve, Benchmade, you name it. And here lately I've gotten rid of all of them except my Sebenza because I'm much more interested in a traditional knife these days. I've carried and used my cadet more than my Sebenza and just recently picked up a Case. I'm hoping to get a GEC here soon. Solid collection my friend, I'm looking forward to your other videos, cheers!

Enjoyed seeing your collection. That one knife with a rough tang that damages the liner, I think that issue could be referred to as "galling".

Wow I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I don't know why I don't have one... Never really considered it to be honest. Do you have a specific suggestion? I'd love to try one
@Joe-jj3oh
@Joe-jj3oh 5 лет назад
Logan Stout Booker plus Barlow with either jigged bone or just black synthetic handles seem to be the best ones.

Great you have some RRs. My most expensive pocket knife is a Case stockman and i am having a blast getting RRs for the price and i like service them when they come. The Case was kind of a disappointment because came with several details that Case knives are not supposed to have.
@KnifeThoughts
@KnifeThoughts 5 лет назад
Yep I've had that with Case knives also. Rough Rider also puts out lots of interesting patterns.

Thanks for sharing your great slip joint collection! Based on this and other videos you have I can tell you are well entrenched in the knife hobby/passion :) Have you ever acquired any folding knives from the US "Golden" or pre WWII era? The cutlers then were true artisans, creating pocket knives that hit all the buttons: from blade geometry/heat treatment to pure aesthetics. I fully agree with you that GEC is presently at the top of the slip joint production world, however there is something special about those "oldies!" Thanks again!

Thanks for watching! I haven't really had any from the golden age, but I've been lucky enough to see them in others collections and they're beautiful.

I just got my Churchill in the mail and I am really considering dropping the kick on the sheepsfoot. Doesnt it mess up the backspring alignment when closed?
@KnifeThoughts
@KnifeThoughts 5 лет назад
Yeah, it can. But I don't mind that too much.

Came here for the camp knife and you kind of just ran through. Wish you would have explained the point of the bail.
@KnifeThoughts
@KnifeThoughts 5 лет назад
That was the point of the video, to go through my collection. But the bail is for attaching a lanyard or hook of some sort to hang it on your pocket.

Have you gotten any knives where the tip wasn't buried in the handle and was a bit proud ? Nice video. Thanks 👍
