Good video but our Pre-trip inspection in Ontario Canada, is different including the wording. You have to actually be inspecting the items, not just saying it. Like the wipers for example, we would turn the washer fluid on and say my washer fluid works and my wipers provides me with a clear view, there are no damage to the wiper blades.
Is this still the most current pre trip test? I’m hoping to start up my career soon, I live in Katy, Texas and there is a terminal here but not sure if it’s one where I can work on my cdl rather than drive myself or pay too much money for the way there or whilst there. Any info works and much appreciated. Thanks
Why would you move your truck before inspecting your trailer? I was taught to do the whole outside check then finish with your in cab inspection. What if there were chalks, flat tire or something under the tires or trailer?
This is the way the state has it laid out for the students to pass their pre trip skills and driving tests to get their cdl license. Then they will go out with their trainers this is where they will get the hands on training. The students do not move forward with their exam if they can’t pass their air brake tests. This is part of their pre trip on the tractor. Hope this answers your question.
Hi Marie, I am curious if this is still the proper walk around and brake test or if there have been alterations to the requirements. NeV MeV please view Pretrip with automatic made about 4 months ago along with the air brakes for automatic. That is the most current one for the school. Joe

its ridiculous how much the state will make you go through so you can have a job yet allow state and local bus drivers to be exempt from alot of this and no iam not complaining iam going to be driving truck and cant wait just think its funny how the state controls every thing these days
Jay short this is federal not state and it’s been going on for a long long time. It does make you look at your truck for your safety and the safety of others. We all have to do it. 😃

I'm thinking about joining knight myself do they provide transportation. and lodging i look at some other. schools but I think knight is a perfect start for me give a lil advise on them?
jay low I get that. Not everyone can swing it. I believe Swift and CR England, among others, will get you a bus ticket and a place to stay. The trade off is you have to sign a contract to drive with them for a year. With Knight there’s no contract.
jay low Never heard of them. Ask Google 😊. I like what I’ve seen of Knight and am able to cover my transportation and lodging so I’ll be heading to Phoenix soon. Keep looking, you’ll find a good fit for you.
