Agreed! I saw this advice from @verypinkknits and tried it, but several skeins worked just the opposite: label printed horizontally, but end needed to be pulled to the RIGHT.
It’s not always this simple but it’s a good rule of thumb to start…sometimes the end is so far down in the middle that it’s too tight to pull it out that easy. I have trouble with this all the time and get so frustrated.
I remember you mentioned this in a video a long time ago but I forgot the details and then I couldn’t remember which video it was in. I’m so glad you made a new video mentioning this again!
I never knew about the label tip. I just pulled out yarn barfs left and right. Some skeins are simpler to pull the center string out compared to others.
Great tip, I find the end from the outside of the yarn ball. What is the benefit of pulling the yarn end from the centre of the ball please? Less twisting of the yarn or another reason?
I have had 3 experiences with Lion Brand Mandala yarn years apart. First time I thought it was a quirk. 5 years later, my sister-in-law sent me 2 mandala cakes. Both of them were filled with barf after barf. I worked for days trying to untangle those barfs. I researched it and had pulled it exactly correctly. Even so, that yarn was a total nightmare. 3 quirks years apart isn't an accident.
