Welcome back for another round of knitting and color chat! I have a finished sweater, we chat about a new project, there are cookies and cats! AND! I talk about the Seasonal Color analysis that is making the rounds on social media.
I hope you have some time to sit and craft with me!! I love reading your comment. I created this channel to get to know other knitters, and yarn lovers, and share our love of making!

Shannon, I love your often heard mantra, this time around choosing your colors according to proscribed 'rules', and you say, "just do whatever you like - there's no rulebook. It's your life!" Great advice! Your knitting adventure with color is fun to watch - thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed Tesselated Vest. I made a kind of Barbie inspired Fancy Sweater in Lamb and Kid Big Birdie pinks and sienna shades and I love wearing it (even though I don't think its's really my color!).

Thanks for the news update. Hope you had fun with your family. I instantly thought of you when I saw the rain in the news in your area. So glad you weren’t affected. It looked terrible. Your knitting as always is beautiful.

Thank you so much!! Thanks for thinking of me!! Friends in NYC are saying it was only bad in random spots, and for brief periods. Folks with basements where there used to be streams (bricked over) were really in trouble. No one I knew tho. ❤️❤️❤️

I love how you explained your color choices you have so many informative videos I’ve learned a lot. Your sweaters are gorgeous. By the way I just found your channel and going back to watch the older ones. Your sweater is gorgeous! I looked in the show notes for the cookie bar recipe, but I didn’t see it. I’m wondering if you can share the recipe? Also, I hope you have a great time at Rhinebeck. I can’t wait for you to share your highlights. Thanks for being such great company as I work on sleeves for a Rowan colorwork sweater knit in pieces. It’s always a pleasure to watch your podcasts!

I always thought I was a winter. But I have deep yellow/olive tones in my skin. So maybe I’m more of an autumn. 💕

Totally!! There's some overlap, and some of the colors are so subtly different. I think it takes practice to see the color nuances. ❤️❤️❤️

I like Carol Tuttle's Dressing Your Truth color palettes. Its based on your energy and when I stick to my palette, people tell me how rested I look. Its a different way to do your colors. I love your newest sweater! Its gorgeous.

great video shannon - thank you. i love how adventurous you are with color! and i do hope you'll knit up that amazing palette of greens and teals - prob my favorite combo ever. a cookie segment instead of whisky...love it, but also love the whisky chats. i could not have that kind of yumminess in my house - i would surely eat them all, in a day or two - my will power has vanished. also, just wanted to say that the tune you play at the beg. and end - and during the cookie segment, is so lovely - so bittersweet to my ear somehow, especially at this time of season. still kinda hot here in southeastern utah, but cooler temps are surely coming - the aspen up on the mountains out my windows are stunning golds and yellows. cheers to you, from libby

Thank you!! Yes, that yarn is already caked! The only thing stopping me from doing them side by side are the changes I'm making to the spec. I did record a whisky chat! I'll add it in next episode 😉 I freeze any sweets I make so I don't eat them on repeat. Then, I take a few out when someone comes over! That method works for me. Oh, that sounds so lovely where you live!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hello dear Shannon! Ahhh you are a vision in your new sweater! You just shine! And now I am not surprised that you and I are drawn to such similar colours as I think I am a spring too... I only stumbled across the colour me thing this summer when I was trying to figure out which makeup to buy - tinted moisturiser / foundation - without actually visiting a store. The fist tip is great - because I have both blue and green veins and I couldn't tell what my skin was, I discovered I have a 'neutral' skin tone with warm... I love wearing white - especially in the summer and especially because of having a white cat, so I was interested to find when I did my own perusing of the colour me thing that white was a colour I should avoid. But I am happy to just have embraced that anyway - although I do find I like it better if I have a poppy red lipstick and warm red nail varnish to go with. I am really pleased you are ok with all the terrible storms and flooding - the scenes online have been awful! Hi Ros! Thanks so much!! Omg, yes that makes so much sense that you are also a Spring! I still have tons of white in my closet and around my home 😁 Love it for the clean crispness vibe. And you're right, just applying some brighter lipstick or a flash of color around my neck brightens my skin tones. Yes, all is well!! It's pouring again today but afterwards, we're getting a cold front. Sweater weather!! Love the combo you choose for the Mkal! Enjoy the weekend!! ❤️❤️❤️

I've still got the fabric swatches from getting my colors done 40+ years ago. True Spring, but now with a fair amount of black.

I love it!! I think we all have single skeins hanging around, lol! Yes, I'm very lucky in that I live up on the Palisade cliffs so water flows down and into the Hudson. The folks that live down by the Hudson-- yikes! Plus those homes are more than triple for the same space I have. Not worth it!! Thanks for thinking of me!! ❤️❤️❤️

Very interesting about the color choices. First I hear of this. I will have to explore further. So fun. Every one says I look good in red and pinks. Now to figure out which season that is… I need to buy that book.

I have narrow shoulders and am a bit busty, and am under five feet. For me a hybrid raglan fits the best and is easier to modify to shorten the shoulder to armhole measurement.

Yes, I think they're looking forward to winter there- haha!! We'll see how long they stay. My son is a 'NYC for life' type. He says he's happiest here. Maybe on one of my longer trips we can hang out! Also, eyeing DFW fiber show for next Fall if they're still there. Maybe fly to Dallas then head to them- something like that! ❤️❤️❤️

I too, had my colors done when I was around 20 -- and that was 40 years ago! I honestly don't feel that old. Anyway, I'm a Spring and I do tend to wear those colors. I'm knitting a Ranunculus and this time I did make it a little smaller than what the pattern called for. I didn't want so much positive ease. Your sweater came out great! (Except for the very low raglan - I'm not a fan of that either)

Thanks for reminder! I meant to put it in the show notes. It's Sugar Cookie Bars by Margaux Laskey. I think the addition of cream cheese makes the difference from a regular sugar cookie! ❤❤❤

Ahh, good question! My mother worked nights as a nurse, so, Dad got us dressed most often. I remember him saying wear light blue, not yellow, but actually, I should do the opposite! My mother is also a Spring! She bought lots of the peachy coral colors for herself. Funny how we are influenced! ❤️❤️❤️
