oh DB 1978, we are all so grateful to our moms and grandmas for sharing these skills - we send you lots of love and hope that knitting helps to heal the pain of losing your mom xxx much love, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
I knew going into this would be hard, and its not even hard physically, but my memory problems are causing me struggles to learn it and Im trying so hard to not cry right now, I am determined to try and stitch one row lol
@@idk-kx8nx watch a few different videos and you will find one that works for you. Also, I tried so hard with crochet and was shocking at it, but knitting just clicks for me. You might find something else is easier to start with?
Well I heartily approve, I would rather be learning how to knit! Keep up the good work (but don't forget to finish the essay!) kindest wishes, merion x
I am a 55-year-old grandfather covered in tattoos and love to ride Harley Davison while looking at me you would never imagine that I’d love to knit. And I would like to thank the woman in this video who showed me how to knit you are a wonderful and blessed person you took your time and I was able to understand you 110% the first thing I made was a #4 Rainbow yarn for a hot plate. Now I am going to knit my two granddaughters scarfs w/#6 I will show you them in a picture God bless you and thank you. I’m having so much fun
I see so many people here with a story for why they decided to learn to knit…. I just saw knitting needles when I was buying yarn to crochet with and thought “why not” and decided to learn
For a person with adhd & a learning disability brain this tutorial was so helpful & I understood it so fast. The repetition & slow pace & an image of what you’re doing over & over helps a lot to learn in no time. Crocheting is so hard I gave up on it I couldn’t understand it or pick it up so I’m trying knitting & everyone says knitting is harder but this looks so much easier!!
Knitting and crocheting have been difficult especially to find videos that have clear and concise instructions with a demonstration. This is definitely the best video I’ve seen.
@@lovecraftscom not really but can u explain me in a way that everyone understand cuz umm and can u explain how to do the slip knot and thank u very much I hope u see this message and explain [ no hate ]
It’s been really hard trying to improve my knitting after years of vigorous crochet. Getting a hang of it is a slow process and I keep returning to my crocheting hook out of sheer frustration. That being said, your tutorial is incredibly helpful and you sound so encouraging that it makes me feel better about myself just a tad bit more
Have you been able to learn it? I've been trying on and off and at this point I think I'm donating my knitting needles 😭 I can barely get two stitches and they're always so tight
@@alwaysreadin163 I still don't know why we can't use some very long crochet needles, like the hook is SO helpful, why make a pointed end instead? The tension is always wrong and it slips
@@glacialimpala true that! Isn't there a type of crochet that has a lot of loops on the hook at once? I think it's called Tunisian crochet, I've seen it floating around pinterest a lot. I usually have natural nails that are on the longer side (ie a bit over my finger tip) and I usually have to use my nail so I definitely second the hook thing lol
Just keep going in spite of the mistakes. I'm finding it easier as I just keep doing it and not trying to be perfect. I still prefer crochet but my wrist hurts if I do too much, so knitting will be an alternative.
i’ve been struggling a lot with my anxiety and depression for years and have decided to take up a hobby and knitting has always always tooken an interest in me. i’ve always been drawn to it in a way. and this time i’m taking some action into learning. and here i am watching this video on repeat hoping i can catch on and once i’ve caught on and learnt my plan is to get the yarn & needle & practice and practice then hopefully start my own business once i’m good enough.
Thank you SO MUCH! I’m just learning to knit at 34. Have never picked up so much as a needle or yarn and was becoming a bit frustrated with some of the RU-vid tutorials I was coming across. However, the way you explain things in a way a newbie can understand and repeat the motions is so helpful! I learned more watching 15 minutes of your video than I had in 2 hours fumbling through others!
Oh Cesar, thank you SO much for such kind words. I am thrilled to bits that you have found the video helpful and welcome to the world of knitting! It's great fun, and once you get those fingers working you'll never stop! Kindest knitting wishes, love from Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Took five days, two hours a day, but I'm finally understanding! Thank you so much for your How To. It's been immensely helpful in training my hands to do the work.
Hello Brodie!! I am so thrilled that you enjoyed the video - and I am delighted that it comes across as a friendly helpful hand! Thank you for leaving us a comment and telling us! Happy knitting! Love, Merion xx
I'm a 78 year old man trying to keep my little grey cells ticking and and thought knitting was a good idea, I've looked at a few sites before finding yours and although I've only just started watching I'm so impressed that I though pausing the video as you began to stick and telling you how much I'm impressed. Many thanks, martin
This was a perfect tutorial. I sat down with my grandchildren (10 & 7 years old) and my daughter and we all learned together. The 7 year old picked it up very quickly thanks to your tutorial.
My grandmother taught me to knit when I was a child. I remembered the knitting part but not the cast on/off part. This was very helpful. I appreciate it! :)
my cousin was teaching me but she moved to California, thanks for helping i am making a blanket for my neighbors 15 year old who is blind, deaf, one eyed, and diabetic
this is so genuinely peaceful and nice... I was having trouble with another tutorial and decided to try this one. I’m glad I did! you are so sweet and lovely, and everything just clicked for me when you were teaching ❤️
Oh Meagan you are so kind! I'm thrilled that it has helped you get started! Knitting is very personal and you just have to find your comfort zone!!! Sending kindest knitting wishes, Love Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx
I remember my grandmother teaching me how to knit when I was very young. I am now 59 and have not knitted since the age of 10. Your tutorial was so helpful. I completed my first little knitting project in no time. I am looking forward to learning more. Thank you!
Hi Sophie, we're so thrilled you found this video helpful! Thank you for leaving a comment xxx I'm delighted you're getting into knitting, it's the most amazing hobby! Sending love and knitting wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x

Amazing ... i went back to my school days.. just recollected what ever learnt 20 yrs before... thankyou so much the way you explained each and every loops. Thanks aunty. ❤
Struggled for 48hrs to learn this knitting until I found this video. Thank you! It was clear and concise, I was able to get the hang of it within 14 mins. Big thank you to the content creator!
Your calm and clear explanations are so appreciated! I started crocheting years ago and stopped without finishing my first scarf. I thought I had no interest or aptitude in knitting but your video has inspired me to seriously reconsider!
All my winter clothes when I was a baby knitted by my mom, now I'm learning from you so I can make a jumper for my mom, thank you very much for the first lesson
After watching several tutorials (and I failed miserably) I finally learned thanks to you!!!! It’s slow coming but I’ll keep trying. I crochet better but there’s just something about the knit stitches I prefer. Thank you!
Am a complete beginner and I have tonsay your teaching is brilliant!!! You show everything well and slowly and explain things so well too. Thank you so much!!!!
Hey even if it’s old I still like it it was my first time watching this and I ask my dad can he buy me knitting supplies and he told me if only someone teaches me and u did I love this videos so much I now know how to knit
You are so, so, so lovely! I learned this stitch as a child, but my Nana was the one who cast on and cast off for me. It seemed like magic! Thank you for showing me how to do magic in this video ☺️💖
You look like a knitting teacher I never knew how to knit until you came up on my phone and I knitted millions of stuff thank you for this you are amazing 😊
THIS IS AMAZING! After watching your tutorial I just continued knitting and I am already halfway through a scarf. Such amazing instructions and I feel so happy doing it! Also gained the confidence now to knit something else. Thank you so so much!
Wonderful! Learning to knit at 62 as it has been something I always wanted to learn. Have done crewel and embroidery so struggling with working with big needles! Feel quite clumsy! Your instructions are super! Your voice….. tone, speed, etc are perfect! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! This is truly the best one I've found on the internet. It's so easy to follow and very beginner-friendly. I'm now enjoying the process of knitting and it's all thanks to you
This was the first knitting video I watched and I loved it. I couldn’t find it when I looked for it again and peeked at a few others - a world of difference! I was determined to find this video again. Both the technique and low key presentation of this one are ideal for a beginner, thank you so much!
You taught me how to knit today! ❤️ I was told by my son’s school - today - that for his online (we just started last week) handwork class the only way for him to learn knitting (which imbibes so many skills for a 7 year old) was if I learnt how to knit and then taught him - as online handwork for little children is an oxymoron - as one needs the teacher by ones side. I was in a panic because knitting has never been a part of my world - embroidery, yes but never knitting. You managed to teach this to me......and online too! Thank you! ❤️
Hi Diana! That is soooo kind of you, thank you so much - I'm delighted that you're enjoying knitting!! Keep it going!!! Sending kindest knitting wishes, love Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Wonderful tutorial! Very clear explanations and demonstration to be able to follow along. I can officially say I've learned how to knit! Looking forward to making a scarf now. Thank you! ☺️🧶🧣
I’ve never cast on like this! I’ll have to try. Thank you for the detailed tutorial! I’m trying to teach a friend to knit but it’s hard to break it down as nicely as you do.
Hi Kendyll, there are so many ways to cast on! It's great to use the method you know best, or the best one for the project - and we're glad this video helped you teach your friend! That's what we love about crafts - sharing the skills with each other! Kindest wishes to you both, with love from Merion and the LoveCrafts show xx
omfg YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!! I’ve watched so many videos on how to knit and it was not making any sense and i watched your video and it changed everything
Never knit b4, ty for the slow and thorough instructions. Def going to soon give it a try. I'm a crocheter but I love the look of knit on shawls. So I'm determined to give it a go.
Thank you so much Nathalie! Grab your needles and have a go! I am a crocheter too, and I love them both for different things! We'd love to hear how you get on - come back and tell us! Love, Merion xx
I had already begun a renewal of long ago knitting skills as a girl, currently a retiree. From my in person tutoring, with your excellent video I have a good grasp on what to do. It is so very easy to follow what I see and what you say. I'm making cotton dish cloths for my first projects. Thank you!
Hi Queen Prince and Ann without an e - you know what, you can do it! Just watch the video a few more times with no distractions and you'll get it! You can do it!!!! Love Merion & the LoveCrafts team xx
This helps so much! Especially since I am a hands on learner. I've been crocheting for 3 years now, and some of my customers prefer the knitting look instead of the crochet. So I decided to learn it. I looked at so many other tutorials and non of them clicked until I came on here for this video! I definitely subscribed and I am definitely coming for the second part for different stitches and what cute crafts to make ! ❤
After watching so many videos and giving up on the knitting, this video helped me get into the flow of things and i’ve started my first knitting sample. Thanks so much
I can not be the only one who physically can not get what he's doing, because it should be like looping around, I be like, ok, loops around, and then it will completely fail, I've been tryingfor an hour, I can not seem to get hang of this how
One of the best, beginner friendly knitting channels around. Love her gentle instructions for beginners here. Not a total beginner here but just want to be reminded again and so glad I found this channel.
oh Lyndra! That is SO exciting! I hope the audition went well! Sending kindest knitting wishes and lots of luck, from Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx
Thank you for your video. I learned how to knit when I was 9 years but I forgot everything and you are such wonderful teacher that it was easy to start again.
A fab teacher - all other videos I tried were too complicated. I learnt how to knit in only a few hours with a lot of determination not to give up and now I can knit!
Hi KJ, wow that is fantastic news - congrats on learning to knit! It's such an exciting journey and such a thrill when you get the hang of it! I am SO thrilled to hear that the video helped!!! Keep on knitting!!! Sending love and big congratulations! Well done! Love Merion xx
Seriously the easiest video to follow along. I want YOU to explain perl and other stitches because I can't grasp it. Even the other videos on this channel aren't as easy to follow as this woman!
