Although we are vastly different in age (I will be 64 in October), I can't believe how much we have in common - I have been a huge Star Wars fan since hubby and I saw the original movies in the theatre in the 70's and 80s and I ended up working for a SW website which resulted in visiting Skywalker Ranch about 20 years ago. I too love Harry Potter, Nightmare Before Christmas, Twilight ... and I purchased but yet to read Fourth Wing. If you wish, I have a short video of my extensive SW collection on my channel. I used to do a knitting podcast too but only did it for a few years. Thanks again for your company while I knit!
oh my gosh we do have so much in common!! I can’t even imagine what it would’ve been like to see the original Star Wars in cinema! I’ll definitely check out your channel! thanks for watching as always 🥰🥰
Yes, we have K-Marts here in the USA but IDK if they sell yarn. I want to knit the Dumpling Bag too. Your Good Old Raglan is so cute. Ahsoka was amazing!!! I love Star Wars too. Shin is awesome. I hope there is a season 2! I knitted on a hat while watching.
The cuteness factor of that bear is scrumptious Hayley!!! Love that it’s knitted all in one piece too. It’s great that you’ve figured out your Mobi - it looks amazing! 👏 And the Porcelain sweater is a beautiful design, your colour choice is great. Perfect for that winter feel. I’ve just finished a Jurassic Park beanie which was a request from a 6 yr old for his birthday.😱 Thanks for another great episode! 😃🧶
Thank you for such kind words! It's very motivating to hear you're enjoying the podcast. What pattern did you use for the Jurassic Park beanie?? That sounds so cute and I hope he enjoyed the gift!!
Hi Hayley. Thank you so much for your great video. You are doing really well. I just had to drop you a comment as I am in Geelong, not far from Melbourne and it's nice having someone from home to watch and listen to. Keep it up Hayley..... I'll see you in the next video 🤗👌
Omg it's so exciting to hear from a fellow Victorian!! I've found it difficult to find Aussie podcasters on here so I'm so glad you found me and enjoyed this episode! :))
Hi Hayley! That is the cutest bear ever! I love your Porcelain sweater. The rustic colours suits it perfectly. Best wishes from a Canadian knitting podcaster!
Thank you for sharing your knitting journey! Your moby (mobey?) sweater looks so nice!!! For the month of October i'm knitting up a scarf for my friend's birthday on the 22nd. I've been swatching like crazy looking for the perfect design. I bought my first skeins of "nice" yarn from a yarn store (wool and alpaca blends). The urge to frog my 1 leg warmer made from thrifted acrylic yarn in favour of a softer yarn from the yarn store is so high.
OMG thank you for coming back and sharing some more progress! I feel like once you experience 'nicer' yarns it's so hard to go back to acrylic I totally understand. Have you landed on a design for the scarf for your friend yet??
@@hayleys_space Yes I did !! It was a fancy looking rib stitch. It took me 2 weeks to compete. It was a labor of love (and I went through 3 audio books!)
I will say right now that the sleeves on the baby sweater are looking uneven. One way to solve that is to put both on the needle at the same time. Just be careful not to accidentally connect them. Remember to give each sleeve their own strand to be knitted with. You drop the working yarn from one sleeve and pick up the other strand to work the other one. They are actually two separate pieces. As far as raglan sleeves, just watch the stitch and row count.
I have knit socks two-at-a-time before and that was great so definitely could be good for sleeves too! Thanks for the tips! As a free pattern I can understand how the grading might not be completely accurate and also may have contributed to the final look of the project :))
