Looking forward too but Staying optimistic about this year. I've had a rocky year since 2024 began, but going through some major changes. Going the first night is off the table, but if all goes well, I can visit at least one night in October
All I want is an actual frightening experience. All these extra gimmicks, celebrity endorsements, lantern doo dats, and dynamic story driven theatrics is all cool, I’m not dogging it, but I want to actually attend a haunt for once that fulfills the fear requirement. I’ve felt that over the years, haunts have become shells of their former selves. With softer families demanding that scare actors tone down their scare tactics in favor of more family friendly experiences, mazes becoming more about the aesthetics and effects over true horror snd terror, and theme park security being forced to have their hands tied when handling drunk and violent patrons that attack actors because management is afraid of backlash and losing returning customers. I get family friendly experiences bring in more revenue, hence why Disney year after year blows every theme park out of the water with their holiday specific events, but scary farm and horror nights were always meant to be in their own league. The adult event of the season. Though I still love to attend these haunts, it does pain me to see every year management choosing flare and theatrics over practical and effective haunts. Let the scare actors slide and scare, and for gawd sakes bring back the chainsaws.
