Love, love your podcast! I have watched so many podcast about dating/human behavior in dating and concluded that you are the best! You always touched on the roots of the issue and not just the sign and symptoms. Just found you two weeks ago and I go bunker trying to watch your previous podcast in a row. I could not put it down. Dear Susan, I fell really hard for a woman and everything was going so well, suddenly she ended it after 3 months. We had strong attraction, interesting conversations, and lots of laughter. That’s my top priorities for a long term relationship. However, our political believes were completely different and if I did not agree with her, she would go completely cold and even lose feelings for me. I did not mind us having difference in opinion as long as we could agree to disagree but that seemed impossible for her to do. I had no clue these discussions had such a negative impact on her so I was totally taken by surprise when she wanted to end it. I feel like she never had a talk with me about it and ended something amazing. It’s been a while now though it still hurts. I do feel she lacked emotional maturity so maybe in the long term it would not have worked out anyway.. How do we make peace with a situation like this? Thanks for your great work

YOU ARE WELCOME! Cut yourself some slack. It's a process. Letting go is done sequentially. Start where you are, journal, reread what you've written, deconstruct the person and take them off the pedestal, see the totality of who they are in 360, and then see how you feel

Hello Susan. Love all of your videos. 😊 I especially enjoy watching live, but couldn’t do that today. Anyway, I have waited too long in letting go in several prior relationships subsequent to my divorce. If I develop strong feelings for a woman, I usually bend over backward in trying to mesh our different goals on such things as retirement plans, relocation, and becoming digital nomads. I do have a fear of waking up 5 years from now and wondering how I let someone go.

Dismissive wife of 8 years walked out and left our marriage. We have to be separated for a year until divorce can be filed. I’ve left the lines of communication open, but I need to move on because we’re incompatible. I’m conscientious and she’s not.
