Knuckle Bine Explained | Hunter X Hunter 101 

Knuckle is such an underrated character. He really put his all in the Chimera Ant Arc, and he's easily one of my favorite characters.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that shoot covered his right eye for no particular reason.

I think the purpose of his really complicated nen is to show that even though people may consider him a delinquent hes not only caring but actually kinda smart.

Another fun fact: The voice actor who plays knuckle, also plays Okuyasu from JoJo. In HxH he plays knuckle, In jojo’s his characters stand is called the hand. Lol he plays a person named the hand and knuckle.

I've always found it interesting that while Knuckle is portrayed as super aggressive, his hatsu lends itself to a more 'cowardly' fighting style where he hits his target and runs. To contrast this, Shoot is portrayed as a coward, but his fighting style is up close and personal. Also, during the Chimera Ant arc, his feats were potentially the most courageous of the extermination squad.

Knuckle's intro was one of my best scenes in this anime. I was like why is this crazy dude walking around with a megaphone?

I think Knuckle has his hatsu because someone once told him "compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe." He believed it wholeheartedly and used his entire brain to make a Nen ability with that.

I think an important thing to note for this is the similarities to Leorio in general character. In different parts of the series, they both fill the Kuwabara role in the group. I would even wager that APR was originally going to be Leorio’s Nen ability and that it was re-purposed after Leorio stopped fitting into what the Hunter X Hunter journey became. I mean think about it. Everything about APR fits Leorio’s style perfectly

Can you do Palm Siberia, I feel like she’s underrated. Plus it would make for a dope vid because her transformation.

Knuckle has one of my favorite abilities. If Chrollo steals that ability he would be impossible to be stopped.

The moment i saw him i immediatly thought he was josukes and okuiyasus love child.

Also nice to note the Knuckle’s character and appearance is based on Kuwabara from Togashi’s previous work Yu Yu Hakusho.

Ya gotta love these badasses with a heart of gold characters. Knuckles a good kid.

I really liked his nen ability. It's such a ridiculous thing to conjure up it makes you wonder what kind of life hardships he lived through to be familiar enough to essentially reinvent debt.

My favourite HxH character. An absolute dude. His compassion and kindness, his pompadour, his ability, his seems-like-an-idiot-but-really-he’s-pretty-damn-smart-ness. What a guy. One of my favourite moments in HxH is when Knuckle and Morel come up against the much-faster Cheetu, who asks “how do you expect to beat me” and their totally-assured response is merely “wits and experience”.

Also... Knuckle's Japanese VA went on to voice Okuyasu Nijimura in Jojo Part 4 Diamond Is Unbreakable! Pretty funny how the VA for Okuyasu looks exactly like Josuke. That's the first thing I noticed when I first saw this character!

Knuckle comes off as being a very simple minded individual, But his ‘Bankruptcy’ Hatsu is so incredible well thought out and proves he’s more intelligent than he comes off as being.

Man Knuckle always remind me of Okuyasu with Josuke's hair, i mean his appearance and personality sure does similar to Okuyasu

Don't forget his other hatsu, spirit sword....it does have a restriction of needing to wear a blue suit and dye your hair orange tho....however if you can meet those conditions it can cut through reality itself

Everytime I think of knuckle and his nen ability I think that his purpose is to fight along side someone and take an enemy out of the fight once hitting them. Gets them confused and they can't hurt him but he needs to buy time all he has to do is switch fighting partners if they're not dead set on going after him. If he had an ability to help out with apr he would be extremely good. Like an ability to hinder his opponents. Makes me think of kurapika and his chains but instead he could just have another move that affects them negatively the entire time while trying to repay the apr

Knuckle and Leorio are going to team up really well I can tell. Knuckle could punch through a portal Leorio makes and hit their opponents with APR. Knuckles nen ability is a reference about financing and you know Leorio is about getting money. Man their personalities would bounce off each other nicely.

I think every manga should take notes from togashi. Like super, they have hundreds of characters and only focus on a handful who contribute to the plot. Almost everyone in HxH contributes into the plot and subplots
