Haha so for the record, by the middle of the song, my bass drum had slid very far away from me and by the end of the song was actually getting close to falling off the riser. I straight up can’t even mouth a few words while playing without blowing it, so I just kept glancing to the monitor guy and a few of our friends that were up there, hoping someone would catch that I was distraught about something
a lot of people thought u were checking the chics at the back 😂 pretty insane that you still managed to play the whole song perfectly despite the issue you have with the bass drum 🔥💯
This drummers style is all old skool. Drummers these days are all about looking impressive and is either jazz or some sort of metal, but this guy is the ideal drummer. Solid, precise, and gets the crowd hopping
@Aston as a drummer I agree, a good drummer is someone who puts their time into honing every aspect of what theyre playing while pushing themselves to consistently grow. John's playing is ideal yes but for his genre. The notion of an "ideal drummer" isnt really that well founded cause there's thousands of genres and every drummer is unique. also nice profile pic, favorite album of theirs
FOR EVERYONE ASKING ABOUT JOHN’S KIT SPECS. Starting off with his snare: He’s playing a Ludwig Copperphonic, I think, 6.5x14. He’s played a few different Ludwig snares with this kit over the last couple years though. He’s also got a C&C Player Date kit. Mahogany and Maple shells. Sizes are 14x22 kick, 8x13 rack, 16x15 floor. Cymbals are 21” A Sweet Ride, 22” K Ride, 20” K Sweet Crash, and 15” K Hi-Hats. His heads are all Remo. I’ve seen him alternate his toms occasionally but it’s mainly Vintage Emperors(coated) on toms, a P77(coated) on snare, and a P3(clear) on his kick. All DW hardware. 🤙
Such a solid drummer and a nice dude, hes up there with Dani Washington of Neck Deep. Met him along with the other members of Knuckle Puck last year and they did an AMAZING show. Such friendly chilled guys after!
Great Song! Love this whole new album of theirs! John Siorek comes up with some great creative and tasteful drum parts... just keeps getting better every release they put out!
kepadrestardespierto hahaha pretty sure he was trying to signal to his tech that his bass drum was sliding off the riser. You can see him go to adjust it at the end. I prefer your reason though 😂
his kick drum was almost falling off the riser, but his tech couldn't see it gradually happening. he was trying to give him a hint that it was slipping. props to john for keeping the song solid and not fucking up despite that annoyance the whole song.
