Knuckles the Echidna has one of the more interesting backstories in the Sonic franchise. Debuting in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 -- he's the sworn protector of the Master Emerald and lives on Angel Island, but why? In honor of the recently released Knuckles Miniseries, I think it was good to apply his story with a new series I'm trying out.

With the way Eggman breaks the natural order of the world each time he attacks, I like to think anytime he does makes the Master Emerald spit out Tikal for a babysitter, thus freeing up the rad red.

Great video! I find it interesting how they orginally wanted a Dino like design for knuckles but then seemed to have repurposed that idea for the gator character later

the gator character "Vector the Crocodile" was before Sonic 1, originally planned to appear as a band member in Sonic's band

I feel like they could solve this guardian knuckles issue by just bringing back Tikal and chaos. The forces prequel comic implies chaos still shows up to help guard it sometimes, so they could roll with that. Have Chaos guard it while Tikal (as a spirit) looks after him and the chao. Then knuckles is free to see the world, while still coming back to protect the island. So anytime they want to use him, they could just say Chaos is at taking care of the master emerald

@@Therealestfisttalker no the one with knuckles and silver. They fight the fake chaos on angel Island. Knuckles isn't at all surprised to see Chaos back on the island and acts like it's completely normal until it starts attacking them

@@Therealestfisttalker well technically it's left vague what happens to Tikal and chaos. The game itself doesn't say, it's left to interpretation. The only official word is that SONIC doesn't know where they are
