What kind of plastic is it made out of? can it handle the heat that would be generated if you are running high continuous power?

Awesome vid Mark! I found Knuconceptz myself awhile back before I had ever heard of them, and I'm so glad I did. All of their products are top notch and are an incredible value. Im replacing a damaged fuse block and there's no question what brand to get. I have their power / ground wire, speaker wire, fuse block, ultimate battery terminals, wire pants, the list goes on. They don't make the original block I had anymore, which makes me sad. But I'm glad they are still doing the compression fittings. You cannot pull those apart after installed, and look like the best connection that can be made.

Im glad you enjoy! Thanks for the comment, I have thought about this since the last time you asked, I am trying to stay away from doing any brand vs brand for the equipment. The reason being the second I say brand x is better than brand y I have all the fanboy for brand y jumping on me and no longer watching my videos, I have learned (from forums) it just leads to trolling. I rather show amazing fabrication techniques, and just show products I really like, and not say anything negative.

wow! that distribution block looks amazing!!! I definitely love all of Knu's products. I purchased some of their 0 gauge wiring and lemme tell you, thickest wires I've ever purchased! I got two battery terminals and I fell in love with their wire fittings. so easy to screw in and they never get loose! I definitely wanna buy one of these distribution blocks! Great video Mark! thanks for the upload.

Thank you for demonstrating how to use these compression fittings. Been searching all over looking for instructions. I bought the KnuKonceptz Kollasus dual amp kit and there were no instructions for how to use the compression fittings to connect the wires to the 1-to-2 distribution block. Other than the lack of documentation, I am appreciating the quality of the product. They should post PDF docs on their website (none found thus far).

Yet another awesome video! Can't get enough! I still kinda would like to see a video on high end verses low end equipment. Also another video idea, what about something that explains the difference between name brand equipment; Jl , rockford, alpine and non-name brand; sundown, dc, fi, aa. Mostly just to explain why it's ok to go with these brands rather then their well known counterparts. Again sweet videos and can't wait till the next one!

Yes, it is EXTREMELY important that you do. You want a fuse as close to the battery as possible, this prevents the possibility of the wire that as ran to the battery shorting out on bare metal (ground) within your car. With the fuse it will simply blow and save you from a FIRE!

The largest mini anl fuse is 150 amps, if you look closely each output has room for two links, so you can double up to have up to 300A of protection per circuit.

after watching this vid a few weeks back i picked up about $600 worth of wires(one of every colour!) and accessorys from knuKonceptz all worth the cash i spent(cant wait to get my new car to use it all) only thing i can say would be that the compression fittings are a lil fragile as i broke the first one i tested

Hey Mark, I didn't see any specs on the website but I was curious if you did any personal testing on the resistance this distribution block has? I know it's a bit nitpicking but i'm always curious on specs like that. Good vids so far keep it up.

Wires of different colors is very pretty, but I have a problem with "ORG" large AWG wire in any automobile. SAE requires that all high voltage cabling be "ORG" in color for identification for first responders after a vehicle accident. These cables will be cut first as they are for hybrids that have drive and control systems of 38 - 42+ volts, up to 400 volts. Not amps. As a retired ASE Master tech, vehicles coming into the dealer for service or repair have various colors of large AWG wires or cabling attached to the battery for use with a huge loud stereo. Does anyone read the amperage requirements of these devices of these components? A digital amp clamp reveals less that 25 amps going into the trunk. The trunk is 12 feet away, and resistance in the cable effects voltage drop which determines the size or AWG (Gauge) of wire required. Most of these are well over done without looking at the AWG amperage X length = gauge. Best practices in the automotive industries require any circuit properly fused within 18 inches of the battery. The fuse is thermally adjusted by it's environment and changes the amperage that causes it to open. An area that is 100 degrees F, will cause to open at a lower rating indicated on the fuse rating. A colder fuse will open at a higher amperage. Not have a properly sized fuse near the battery is asking for fire and severe damage to the wiring harness as fuses at designed to protect the harness and not the component. It appears like someone is ready for a drive-by welding operation with the oversized wire used. I understand the desire to have a nice stereo, but design, routing and cable sizing much less color choice is crazy. ASE Master Tech since 1978.

i had to build my own distro block as i could not find anything to do what i needed. this comes close but still not exactly. i ended up using 3/8" copper plate and running 2 double 0 gauge wires to the plate and then running 12 anl fuses off the plate to there individual wires.

You did a nice job of showing some of the different configurations using this fuse center. I can see the mini ANL fuses on the left top, but is that also fuses on the vertical side on the same side? Also, I thought you mentioned a link to see different configurations or set ups for this box, is it listed in the description below? I am not sure which one or if it is there. The company does not list the ferrules used on wire that uses a set screw, how do you find them? I would be using dielectric grease on connection even though they are in the trunk, but condensation for moisture in the air can form with temperature changes and lead to corrosion over time. Just seem way too many factory and customer installed connections go bad. Thanks. Nice stuff.

Have one more question. should I fuse the line coming from the battery to the block
@CarAudioFabrication
@CarAudioFabrication 11 лет назад
Not everyone has a rear battery bank, and even if you do every connection to your battery should be fused, if a cable were to come loose and make contact with ground your battery would very quickly overheat the cable and start a fire, this is why the KNF60 would be a great item to install as close to your battery bank as possible, in fact you could make 2 or 3 very short 0 gauge connections and then have 4 or 3 outputs! All fused and ready to go!

how many amps does a typical remote from an amplifier require to turn it on? OR- If I use one single 30/40 amp relay, will I be able to turn 5 amplifiers and a 12 amp led lighting system on with it? I was going to use 2 relays- one for the led's and one for my amps, but If I can get by with one, then I will. Oh, ya, I will probably add a few fans as well, really not sure what the voltage or amperage will be on those yet though.
