Michael Wittmann basically Kobe was saying that Cav system rely too much on Lebron and Kyrie to make and facilitate plays that it handicaps the other guys freedom to make plays thus in the event Lebron or Kyrie fail to make the plays they just gonna suffer for it because their defense is weak.
Evil Schnitzel Meh. Not Kobe. It's not him until they show him in the video making the narrative. Else, anybody can just use his voice or a voice similar to his to make a video and say it's Kobe.
As a Clevelander and Cavs fan, Kobe just totally exposed our style of play. That margin of error is felt after every lost possession if you are a Cavs fan. U can tell that perfection is required to win.
Ya a year later. Kobe exposes the cavs game plan? Because the warriors coaching had no idea until Kobe posted this. Or anyone that knows anything about basketball has no idea until Kobe posted this.
lebron needs a better system not more playmakers. thats why hes gonna leave cleveland for LA. its not a coincidence that he was at lonzos summer league game last night
It is dumb. Didn't you hear Kobe's analysis? The Cavs system is specifically designed for Lebron and Kyrie to dominate the ball while the other's just stand around trying to spot up. How is another playmaker actually going to fit in Lebron and Kyrie's kingdom?
Jason rodriguez No. the sistem is Trash. Lebron wants the ball at all times in his hands and everything is ok if you play in the lesser talented Eastern Conference. They need to incorporate ball movement in their sistem
Kakaroto K wtf you saying lebron wants the ball at all times? Lol you funny asf. Lebron likes to pass the ball most of the time. Im getting frustrated myself cause he can easily score 40+ points. But he wants to keeps his teammates involved. Havent you noticed that he average 8 assists last season more than curry 6 assist and kyrie 5 assist? He's not a ballhog. Kyrie is the one who loves to keep the ball in his hands all the time with his shenanigans and fancy dribbling. He is the ballhog not lebron.
I remember Cavs fans saying that they have the best bench in the league during the regular season, when Cavs lose these bandwagon fans switch up their initial statement.
That was the best basketball analysis video I've ever seen. Kobe's voice, timing, and delivery is awesome and his analysis is spot on. So the Mamba lives on! Way cool.
so if KD said he wanna join your 73 win team you gonna say no because its sad? was it a 73 win team or a 73 win team that lost 6-7 rotation players? lebron just won a ring and still took ray allen with open arms who lost to him in 7 who in turn saved him from a finals lost. age notwithstanding since he was good enough to hit the clutchest shot in nba history
JakeyYy man gsw lost its big that series bogut was their interior defense. He was also one of their go to plays where he would pass from the elbow to a cutter or open shooter ... lebron , kyrie and tristan had a field day without bogut in their altering shots
Adam Feliciano wtf are you even talking about the dude in the original comment wasn't even taking shots he said exactly what happened in like a sentence or two and here you come to the defense of golden state when your little retort wasn't even needed
Cleveland's offense is so stagnant and relies on two players too much, and not to mention their defense is just...awful. GSW deserved the win, they played better basketball.
When I hear people say Kevin Love is a superstar, it just trips me out. If you can't perform when it matters, I can't even call you an all-star. This Cavs team is LeBron, Kyrie, and the others.
You can't blame love for not playing well. I think the system in Cleveland does not fit him thats why he doesn't look like an all star player, have you seen his stats before he went to clevland? he was a beast!! I think if he goes to the right team he would be back to a all star level player that he is. Just saying...
one punch Your right, LeBron completely changed Loves game from being a scoring rebounder to a spot up three shooter. Though I'm not sure if he gonna be able to ball out like he used to on another team because LeBron fucked up his mentality.
KLove is the most offensively-gifted PF in the game. Playing with not one, but two ball-dominant superstars tend to cause his drop in efficiency. If Love does not find a way to adjust as a third banana or co-exist with two offensive powerhouses, then he will continue to take the blame. Since people still somehow view him as a superstar, they expect him to drop 20/10 every night even with limited touches.
OSNs Nappy Hair Trimmings I disagree. Love is much more versatile offensively. Excellent rebounder, he's an extremely efficient low post scorer, he can shoot from deep and he is an excellent passer from the post. Too bad Cleveland didn't use this as an advantage, and so Love was stuck always standing awkwardly beyond the arc waiting for the ball to come his way.
Kobe ... just wow. I knew he would take that drive and passion from the staple center hardwood to his next endeavor.. this was brilliant! bravo!! well done Kobe! Morgan Freeman pass the torch!
Cavs matched up pretty well but the role players, including kyrie, love and jr, didn't show up consistently, and ultimately, LeBron couldn't defeat an entire team by himself. This is why they lost. Not that he didn't have enough help, but that the help didn't contribute enough points
bob polo THANK YOU. As a Cavs fan, the thing that really separates GSW from CLE is GSW ability to play at the same level night-in, night-out. And want to know how they got that way? The years of experience they have from playing w the same people. Cleveland can match up w GS well, but their inconsistency is often their downfall
+Jon B nah your picking a third string point guard to blame? Jr smith hit 7 threes in game 5. If you watch the video Kobe also mentions it's hard to get a rhythm in the game when Only Lebron and Kyrie shoot. Hints everyone is standing around watching them dribble. Then blames role players when they don't win. Nah if you get the cred when you win you get the blame when you lose.
Because they have 2 MVPs, 1 unanimous and 1 a 4 time champion. They also have the defensive player if the year and a contender for 6th man of the year and also a well coached system. Arguably one of the most under rated shooters in Klay who also works as a lockdown perimeter defender. Not to mention a very reliable and versatile bench. On the other hand we have possibly the second best player in the world and the closest thing we have to AI having to help a bunch of players who are completely reliant on them to get their own offence. Even the guy appointed for rebounding and the one who has led the league in 3pt percentage several times forgot how to do their jobs for 4 out of 5 games.
I tried to shorten my answer but there was no way Cleveland was winning in 7. Barely won last time and it was so unbelievable that people thought it was rigged. now add kd to that lol
I never get tired of watching this. We need so much more of this! He did about 5 videos like this. I love the part where it shows the Cavs just standing around. I recall that HEAVILY in the 2015 finals, everyone would just stand around like they were frozen. I also love that in this video they included the INCREDIBLE 3 by Durant @3:25 James is guarding him perfectly and Durant just pulls up and sinks that 3 in LeBron's face. So fucking amazing
GGG and you wouldn't want a ring? Would you rather get one or not? Be Allen Iverson or Shaq? Would you want to be immortal and on top of the basketball world? It's one thing if he averaged like 15ppg and 6 assists, but he is the best player on the planet RIGHT NOW(coming from a Hawks fan please help me) the warriors are a better offensive fit for KD. Him and Russ don't have to put up 40 a night to keep it close. He doesn't have to take the last shot anymore.
I know I'm nobody to you kobe but you are one of the best explain the game it's unreal you explain so well it all makes PERFECT sense. #UNBELIEVABLE BASKETBALL is being played now a days. Thanks Kobe if you took the time to read this...you're boy Oscar Figueroa
Wow! Kobe is the GOAT on and off the court. That was all beautifully said. Just when you thought the book of Kobe was over you find out there's a part 2 to his story.
Kobe is a true student and educator of the game... the bench did suck, but how can anyone be in rhythm and never touch the ball? They need a system that rotates the ball and utilizes screens for shooters and post ups for love to put smalller defenders in foul trouble
RED he absolutely never said Durant and curry aren't good iso players, he said Cleveland has the best but that's all they do while golden state doesn't live and die by it
Spawn no you're just hating on Kobe without good reason and calling him a ball hog when his assist numbers and passing game were actually pretty decent
Ayala KT If you are voted in as an All Star, then you are an All Star. He did and thus he is one. Love isn't fitting in with how LeBron want him to play and what he's good at. Love was one of the best rebounders and assisting big men the game had until he joined the Cavs. Now he's reduced to spot up 3pt shooter and fast break starter.
Ayala KT why isnt he an all star? Because he didn't play well in the finals? Isn't that what you guys said about Curry last year when Cavs won? Now that they added KD you count Steph as an all star again?
Ayala KT stop the excuses already ur team only winning cuz lebron and kyrie are just scorers.... They need to be consistent to win unlike the warriors their team is moving,.. They have team movement and not just relying on iso plays
the only reason the two crown system won last year were because of the injuries and stupidity (Draymond). when both teams were fully healthy golden state was up 3-1 and on the verge of wrapping it up in 5. then stupidity happened, then two new t injuries on top of Curry's nagging injury and the Warriors couldn't fight back.
Avonte Payne how am I wrong? They lost to golden state twice and won once. So saying "why the cavaliers lose to golden state" means they constantly lose to them and never win... it's common sense
MBJ JY Creed an empire can be a democracy. Britain had an empire yet it was a democracy with an elected prime minister and a Parliament. The king is just there to be there and has no power.
Kobe may have 5 rings. But a majority of those rings weren't because kobe was a 60 pt scoring beast. It was because he was forced to play team or wasn't the main man calling the shots. The cavaliers "way of basketball" was in its way formatted on the way jordan and kobe played basketball... where there's a star - and extras to help them win games. The warriors (and spurs for the longest time) have been playing TEAM basketball were everyone participates and feels their contribution. Instead of the other players feeling like they're just "role players supporting someone". If this is kobe speaking he doesn't have much right to say anything about the cavs loss because the last few years of his prime he played like this. Even as he scored 40-60 points, his team would always be cold because his team always felt like supporting extras in the game. Kobe was even worse as he even frequently chose to get assists from the backboard instead of passing to a teammate. PS. No cavs didn't win last year just because of their "monarchy" style of basketball. They won by breaking momentum instead of overwhelming basketball skill. They won because the officials and NBA management wanted more cash in their pockets so they wanted the rivalry to last 7 games. And in the back of your minds you all lebron fan boys know that. That's why you keep reminding everyone of 3-1 even if there's no reason or provocation to.
Agree with everything....but Kobe, especially since his retirement, is revealing that high basketball I.Q. he's so famous for without having to offset it with his on-court, in-game alpha superstar ego...in other words, do as I say, not as I used to do...!
In the years when Kobe and Michael won, they had movement by the role players. As this documentary points out, the Cavs role players literally stand around waiting to see what Kylie and Lebron will do. The problem Cleveland has is coaching. Consistent defense and putting TT and the others guys in the right place at the right time and they beat GSW, even with KD. They did take one game, came close on another game and were competitive thru the first half of just about every game. So it's not like GSW is light years ahead. Cavs need better coaching and be more dedicated to defense that's how they won last year. Good defense and a few timely shots from Kylie.
shogrran I believe everything you said except for the rigged games. Ur right i am a Lebron fan and I can tell you that my fellow Lebron fans aren't even close to thinking the games were rigged by officials last year. When people say that it just saddens me that thats the excuse they have for losing. Just be a good loser and thats it. Theres no need for ridiculous accusations and assumptions 😐
depannist facts nobody was moving and as kobe said in the video it took them awhile to get hot and into the game. This team managed to get a record hitting 3s made in a finals against the GSW .that is not bad at all . Honestly with consistent defense they could have been on par with GSW
