Jerry West Reflects On Kobe Bryant's Legacy 

What? It's been not even two days of course they are grieving and will be for quite a while and it will never leave them. I am more concerned about the parents.....of Kobe, his wife and the other parents that lost a child. Losing a child is the hardest thing to ever go through and it never leaves you and you never get over it.

My friend's mom died by suicide a few years after losing her son. I never fully understood the depth of her pain and heartache until just before she passed but she kept a lot of her suffering in silence and isolation. I pray for Vanessa, Kobe's parents and the rest of the family and friends. 24 forever.....

But man, i has to hurt like nothing on earth.. I grew up with Michael and then with Kobe.. One thing that bothers me is.. Kobe got it done.. He did everything he wanted in his career, he came close to MJ, he did literally everything.. And you could see his happiness when he was with his daughters. Thats what bothers me every moment when i think about it.. His future with those kids.. Je was just getting started man.. This is awful.. He will never be able to see his kids growing.. Never again.. I'm a Celtics fan as well. Those were the days when we played the Lakers in the playoff. My heart is heavy for the Lakers and the farmer Lakers players, Kobe's Mother, sisters, Children and wife. I lost my husband 9 years ago from a car accident. The pain never goes away. Lord please comfort them all amen.

Truth. I never watched jordans rise. I caught his peak and eventual final days on court and it was amazing. But this stings me to my soul since kobe really was my jordan. I saw everything he went through and felt like he was truly a titan worthy of all his accolades. Took him for granted. We will never see another Kobe. Christ.

I can see Kobe’s number being retired for the entire league like Jackie Robinson (42) was for baseball.

The only relationship comparable to that would be the Celtics Bill Russell and Red Auerbach. When Red died, Bill couldn’t even talk about it and left a void the rest of his life.
