Today I’m trying out some new Koch Chemie Products. I used Active foam for a pre wash and Gentle Snow Foam for the hand wash. AF is a PH 9.5 and GSF is a PH of 7.5. Check out the video on these 2 different cleaners and how they work.
I have both Koch Chemie Greenstar (APC) and Polstar (Interior cleaner for all surfaces but glass). I like them both. Everybody raves about GSF, but to me, the Active Foam looks very promising. That one might be my next KC product!
@@DetailingBreakdown Oh yeah. I know what you mean. The weather is finally starting to break here in my neck of the woods (73 today! WHOOO HOOOO!) Finally getting near the time I do my "spring full detail" that takes me about a week total to complete. Looking forward to getting back into detailing after this terrible winter we had. It was colder IN my garage than outside! Which makes for not so fun detailing if your temperature in the garage is colder than outside and outside is near zero. And the heater I have for the garage just never had the ability to take the chill off all that well. I might need to upgrade the heater in the garage this summer when it's cheaper in preparation for next winter.
@@joevanseeters2873 haha, I can picture u in a jacket and gloves, shivering in an icebox but still trying to take a towel out of frozen Rinseless Wash. 😂
I love GSF! I still haven’t tried the GSF+GS combo. Need to do that. I love that cherry scent of GSF. I have quite a KCX collection. Gotta try that AF next. I hear it smells amazing.
Only soap I have tried from Koch is the Nano Magic Shampoo. It has worked great so far. I have been experimenting with different soaps in a DetailKeg, foaming power from the DetailKeg is unbelievable 🔥💯
Ive mentioned this before but since this is a KC video. Ive mixed Greenstar with GSF with ok results. Best results just using Greenstar 10:1 as a pre spray. Really does a great job at removing the white crap and dirt from the roads. Finish with a waterless wash (mckees sio2) and (after Greenstar) there’s barely anything left on the paint.
I'm a little concerned about using a higher PH foam consistently on a coated vehicle. I've been using Gtechniq Citrus Foam which is neutral but there's no question that PH neutral soaps /Foams don't have very strong cleaning power. I just don't know if over time this foam is going to hurt the coating.
the higher the ph the more 'heavy duty' the wash is? (e.g 7.5 (neutral) vs 9.5 (heavy duty)) i'm thinking of using AF 9.5 for active pre-wash and Adam's Car Shampoo for hand wash.
Are those containers of koch chemie soap 5 liters or gallon?I have 2 5 liter containers of gtechniq car soap lookn 4 a spigot 2 work on 5 liter containers.
Have you ever tried Obsessed Garage Decontamination Soap? I've had minimal success with "strip soaps" thus far..... Been wanting to try OD Decon. Adam's strip wash was the best so far & it only did decent. Jax Wax Strip Soap was terrible, Turtle Wax Max Power didn't do much either, nor did Purple Power Vehicle & Boat Wash...... This active foam seems to be comparable to OG Decon based off your results. Kind of seems like Active foam, Car Pro Lift, OG Decon, and Bilt Hamber are the only ones that work very effectively.
I haven’t tried OG soap. But the KC and BH soaps seem to work well at stripping or cleaning. I have another one coming soon. So I can have all levels from PH 7-12
Would you not want to or could U put AF in a foam cannon to the body of the car and then sponge it or do U just spray it on and leave it? Essentially do u hand wash it after applying it on with a foam cannon?
@@DetailingBreakdown is Af usually only used to decon a vehicle and something like GSF or Adam's Mega Foam is used during every wash? thanks very much for the tips.
@@smartdummy5751 yes, that’s how I would use it. For a deeper cleaning. Not my everyday wash. Or it can be a pre foam to get as much grime off the panels before u hand wash.
@@DetailingBreakdown it's 9.5 but once diluted through a medium flowing pressure washer and used at 10:1 in a cannon, the product on the surface is really coming out at a pH of 7.5 if your water is close to neutral. It's similar to how Carpro reset is a pH of 5 and Meguiar's hyper wash is 9.8 yet when do!need as recommended they become neutral. Hence pH in concentration isn't that important instead work out the pH when diluted.
@@DetailingBreakdown Yes it does clean amazing I really like it as a maintenance wheel cleaner. Try out those PH testing strips and you'll get a pretty accurate idea of the PH.
Washing a black car without the two bucket method only using the gsf foam applied on the car ??? I don’t know but that’s an invitation to scratches …. Also always wash your car from top to bottom and do the sideskirt part as absolute last 😮. For the rest good video 😊
It’s all preference and for each their own. Active Fiam is better than Reset all day. GSF has that fantastic experience (smell, lubrication) if u like that and is PH neutral. They also have Super Soap for really dirty fleet washing type of work. It’s a game of levels and they have it covered.
I find GSF useless, unless, your watching coated non-dirt vehicles. I guess they made the product for weekly washes on coated vehicles with very low exposure to dirt.
