Been trying to figure out the right way to hook the throttle linkage up in a mower I was given. They had torn it apart and this video is a perfect tutorial for what I needed. Thank you for showing the small stuff aswell. New sub from NC!!!
You did help for sure! The spring that goes from the governor to the choke linkage was wrong and it ran wide open. Thanks to your video it's now running great!!
Really depressed because I have been dealing with a medical condition and right when I was super sad on the screen Mowers, Blowers & Guns and it was super hilarious! Made me laugh really hard. Thanks! Plus my mower started!!!! And no backfire!
I have been searching for the right video for my carburetor linkage set u[p and you are the ponly olne with a complete demo for this. Thank you very much.
Couldn’t find any other video or explanation of where the linkages connect on the engine side. Thank you Just spent like 2 hours looking for the slot and couldn’t find it.
Would be interested in knowing if it ran without the plastic intake port insert. The first plastic heat shield had the insert attached to it (but you were correct that it was the wrong one). The plastic intake port insert is a separate piece that slides into the intake port
@@MowersNBlowersthere are 2 versions of the plastic heat shield in regards to the plastic insert as you showed in your video.. I found this out when installing a new carb and having gas leak out after. My version is a single piece( intake port insert and platic shield). The problem I encountered was the bolt on right side threads into the built in intake insert. Not sure if I over tightened it but the bolt just spins once I tighten the nut. So gas leaks out. Luckly I had another engine with the other version of heat shield which has the bolt with square which let me put enough torque on nut to prevent leaking. Horrible design. They couldve just put both bolts holding down carb on the block. Freaking engineers.😅😅😅😅
DID YOU REMOVE THE THROAT RESTRICTOR( BAFFLE) THAT GOES INSIDE INTAKE??? SEEMS YOU HAD IT APART BEFORE. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF I REALLY NEED THAT RESTRICTOR.
I put a new carburetor on 1642 Scott's mower/17hp Kohler, kept surging, so adjusted the throttle everything the way supposed to be , still rpm so high motor about take off to the stars. I'm trying figure out how fix that , can u help ?
@@MowersNBlowers I did the governor, and throttle cable and it's all off wack. Can't figure out where reset the cable for the throttle , I'm new to all this , ugggg
@@TheCindy05loosen screw that holds the throttle cable to the engine, throttle all the way up and insure the choke flap is closed, then tighten the screw.
Where in blue blazes does the smaller linkage spring go?? I've been combing the Internet for videos, diagrams, anything, and nothing can be found. I'm talking the longish spring that connects from a hole on the throttle to *somewhere* in/on the governor. Can someone please help?
Great video bro. Gettin stuff done even in the heat. Your dedicated to your channel bro love to see it. You won’t catch me out here in Oklahoma working out in the sun lol. To hot for me. Stay cool brother. 🤙🏼
I been seeing a bunch of hype on the Sooners this year to bro.. that’s almost every year.. but I think this year we actually going to compete for the natty.. hopefully we get that trophy bro.
Wondering if you found out about the spring? I have the same engine and the throttle linkage is not moving when we move the lever on the dash. It all looks the same but the carb stays wide open. That spring never gets any tension on it and we're not sure if maybe it's the governor somehow.....
Trace the throttle lever cable to the bracket, see if the inner wire in cable is moving or maybe rusted and broken. Take the top covers apart and watch the linkage movement
@@MowersNBlowers Thanks for the quick response. I'm 99% sure all the linkage is fine now. There isn't a drop of rust anywhere in the machine. It was used 4 times and put away with the gas drained in 2020. Due to illness it hasn't been started since. We replaced the battery, fuel filter, spark plug and oil and decided to take the carb off and clean it before restarting. The choke works fine and the engine starts while choked but the throttle body doesn't move when the lever is moved back to slow throttle and it quits running the second the choke is off. We can move the lever under the hood and the throttle body opens and closes but nothing happens when we move the lever on the dash....not sure but that might be correct if the carb is operating properly. Unfortunately I thought this meant no gas so took the carb back off to investigate and accidentally pinched the float gasket so now I have to wait on a rebuild kit or new carb to be delivered. Any advice before I get back into it?
@Exxotic Audio looks like a regular Kohler command or courage one would work which costs about $15. But ive never had the ks590 before. www.ebay.com/itm/293047316044?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ILP5z3YRSXq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=O0RlH3mOSeC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@Exxotic Audio the $15 is worth a try www.ebay.com/itm/274488307735?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=0rsUVlBISyS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=O0RlH3mOSeC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Should have a small spring on throttle rod in same hole as rod and also the gasket between the spacer plate and cylinder should cover head opening and also retains carb stud and there's a baffel that goes in cylinder the other spacer plate had baffel just turn plate around and it inserts into cylinder
hey Henry. I have been watching you pour oil several time, it always sputters out of the bottle. I suggest you tip the bottle sideways; it flows much smoother. Even better, with the opening on the high side.
Henry, very good close up camera work today! That Toro will be a nice tractor bro.💰 Hot as hell again bro but we are supposed to get big storms tonight. I like the Mowers N Blowers language and i should write it down some where! Lol. I hope your subscribers go to your other channel and subscribe to get you to 1,000 subs.
