That carburetor is a lot easier to remove if you double nut those studs and remove them from the manifold. Glad that aftermarket carb worked out. I'm about 1 for 3 on those far east carbs.

Thanks for posting this--I needed to clean out the jets on my Kohler and could not figure out how to get that carb out. Removing that one solenoid did the trick. Thank you!

I've pulled carb off, taken it apart, cleaned both the solenoid and the needle valve at least 5 times this summer. It runs great for several hours, then the whole problem starts all over again, just like yours. Maybe someone else already asked this and by the way I have the exact same carb on my 25 HP V-Twin Kohler. I finally broke down and bought a carb on amazon, but why can't I find that solenoid anywhere??

i ordered a carb like that and put it on and it worked fine until i start cutting grass and then it starts to surge. put the old on oem and works fine. Do you think the jets a different? But it does look like a oem carb

It looks to me like that clear fuel line is full of rust. I would suggest splicing in a clear, in line fuel filter because I think that rust is coming from upstream. Oh, I see a filter, but the tube still looks rusty. Fuel varnish can look almost exactly like rust. The only difference is that you can squeeze varnish where rust is a hard powder.

Fuel discolored the clear line, plastic tanks, should be no rust.

@@Thomas-ul3uy must be varnish then, but the effect is similar; clogs. with the small difference in that varnish can form downstream of filters.

I'm here because mine runs rich and I have no adjusting screw on the top, EPA type I guess. So I will be looking into float level and possible leaks at the float needle valve.

will this work on a kohler courage pro 27hp SV840 Spec SV840-3018?the one i got from amazon runs good but when you turn the blades on it bogs down loses power
