Harish Bhai, i am 74 and by God.s grace have not yet lost the taste for wonderful varieties of food. And i can digest those, too. Your videos take me back to my youth when i along with two friends explored the streets of Calcutta in search of great tasting dishes. There is so much experimentation even in street food in my city. Like when about forty years ago, I came upon a lady frying and selling Pineapple Chop! The combined taste of sour-sweet pineapple and green chilli still lingers on my tongue. You analyze food items and the secret of their taste very well. Your cameraman is really good. He always knows exactly where to focus and how to make the food appear tantalizing and appetizing. But we never get to see him (it's a "he", not a lovely "she" I believe). Why don't you go behind the camera for a change and allow bechara camerawalla to eat and express his/her happiness? Thank you. Jai ho!
Harish ji purane din yaad dila diye, Kolkata ki hawa mein hi Ajeeb si mithas hai. I am a Delhi born and raised person still Kolkata is in my soul. Hats off to you Sir for this. ❤️
I am a Kolkatan by birth. Have been to many places all over the world, but the food of Kolkata bests all. A love story that began in my childhood still continues. Thanx Baliji.
Your cameraman has the most difficult job in hand. He has to watch you eat lot of delicious food and then praise it, not sure how he controls himself and just shoots :)
The charm of Kolkata starts with the earthy non- synthetic of it's people and extends to every other sphere including the comforting warmth of its reasonably priced, unique and super tasty culinary delights..
Now price in Kolkata is no longer cheaper..it like other city..even some city like Bhubneswar has cheaper food price than Kolkata...TMC government spoiled the things
Bangal has given variety of fast food to our nation. Not to forget bengali women are the beauty of India. Bangali macher bhat with tamator jhor and sorso jhor are my favorite dish.
Harish, I have seen many many tourists reviewing Calcutta. This video has to be the best video that I have seen that perfectly captures the spirit of Calcutta from its early morning trips to the vegetable market to "telebhaja" to Nakur. Thank you! 👍
I am from Canada and sometimes I watch from Arctic (where net is almost impossible)to find myself in India! Your every presentation is unique and loving. Just now during COVID19 lockdown, this Kolkata episode made me more nostalgic. Thank you. This khusboo of Televhaja is a reality of we Bangalis. Newmarket is our most emotional area of our life! Jol vora sandesh, mono hara , 😋😍. Your every episode is priceless !
This episode is so close to my heart, entirely due to your visit to "Laxmi Narayan Shaw & Sons" and "Girish Chandra Dey & Nakur Chandra Nandy". In previous video I posted that, you must visit Nakur to experience Sondesh, but never expected that you will actually manage to find Laxmi Narayan too! I grew up in this locality. Those are the places we happily bring our friends to give them a good gastronomic satisfaction. Seeing you there made me feel that I am meeting you in person, because if I did, I would have taken you to those places and stuff you with their specialties. Love you! Thoroughly enjoyed!
your expressions while tasting a food is giving me amazing pride for being a bong...you are probably the best food vlogger out there and you truely managed to touch the soul of kolkata...subscribed.
Chandana Goswami yes mere father central cottage industries emporium esplanade. Dharamtalla. Mein central government ki service karte they... Aur mere grand paa bhi govt service karte they.. Aur 37 thethre rd mein rehte they... Gajab saher.. I respect and love Bengali.
Kolkata is the abode of Lip smacking gastronomical cuisines. Nowhere u will find such variety with mind blowing taste & that too pocket friendly. Love my City.
One thing I like very much about your blog is you provide information about the places you visit. This is very useful for travelers who intend to visit in near future the places you have visited. Thanks very much and please keep it up.
Disclaimer: Don't watch at midnight u will definitely get food cravings ........ The host won't take any responsibility for ur cravings.... My opinion is that...... Better to sit with food or watch after having meal...... Ur cravings will be less.......... But cravings will be there.......
Thank you so much for all the info. The way you present everything makes us feel that we are living the moments. Your communication is excellent. Your comments are genuine. I just enjoy watching your episodes! Great job sir!! Last but not the least, Kolkata is truly amazing
It's feel amazing that other part of the country don't even know what kinds of vegetabls those are ..trust me those are very tasty if you prepare well. Proud to be a Bengali
I have been enjoying your kolkata series so much that I am noting down the name of the dishes and places for future and bugging my husband we will go here and eat that.. haha..he is not a fan of bengali cuisine but i am and i try to cook a few things at home .. but staying it maharashtra it is hard for me to source ingredients such as gobindobhog rice, meetha attar and stuff like that.. hope to visit kolkata soon to try the local cuisine..thank you for making such amazing videos!
@@somik2000 big basket doesn't deliver in my city. and things like meetha attar being sold online is not the same the bengalis use in their biryani. and rice is very expensive online. besides, no reviews on the websites that deliver. so can't be assured of the quality and authenticity of the items.
Very good meetha aatar is "Tekka" brand which you may search in grocery shops on M.G.Road in burrabazar & costs around @40/ for 15ml. You may buy best basmati rice(loose) from there around & costs @90/- to @100/- per kg. Buy, different spices like mace, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, white pepper (sha morich) for biriyani from there to.
Hi Harish sir Started watching Ur videos some months ago Really enjoyed ur episode I especially liked Ur Kolkata series Really like Ur work sir Keep it up And achieve all the dreams in Ur life
Hats off to you! You're just about the best food vlogger in my opinion. You're articulate and thoughtful, with a wonderful personality. It's obvious that you work really hard on your editing, unlike so many of the others. Keep it up!!

SUCH A LOVELY PORTRAYAL OF BENGALI CUISINE AND CULTURE. YOU HAVE KEPT THE ESSENCE OF KOLKATA IN YOUR EXPERIENCE. YOUR HONEST REMARKS AND COMMENTS ON DIFFERENT DELICACIES IS THE BEST. AND THEY ACTUALLY MATCH WITH OUR EXPERIENCES. HAVE WATCHED ALL OF YOUR EPISODES ON KOLKATA. AND IN MY OPINION, YOU ARE UNIQUE. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO BROUGHT OUT THE TRUE ESSENCE OF KOLKATA. DO VISIT KOLKATA AGAIN . AND THANK YOU SO MUCH TO PORTRAY KOLKATA IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL MANNER.
@PARTH kathuria surely. Take those guys from Buzzfeed or Lifetak. They are professionals. Running more than one channels and getting a full team. But this person does this single handedly.
Agar east bengal ka match hota toh crowd dekhta kaisa... their emotions.. excitement..celebration.. amazing..east bengal vs churchil brothers match me approximately 45k attendance tha..and in the derby 65k attendance
One thing I noticed is that the Kolkatta flyovers are well painted and maintained, in contrast to Mumbai's which have an unfinished look, poorly maintained too.
Spartan Always ....U should know that the bridges are made during CPIM. ....&;I think u don't know that a bridge becomes edible when it is made. ....it can't be maintained after it is made. ...the new bridges are really good. ..i have seen how they are using better technology for making good bridges......So don't plz share negative views
That red fruit for chutney is known as tengamora in Assam it is basically used to make jelly and jam...Gandraj is known as kazi nemu and fali is known as sajina ✌️
@kritz_j: gandho raj and kagzi lebu (kazi nemu as you said) are two different types of lime in Bengal. We take kagzi lebu with our rice and make sherbet with it but gondho raj is exclusively for rice for its exotic aroma.
Have visited Kolkata n have loved what we saw and ate, but revisiting via your blog is a total new experience! Will definitely revisit, thanks to you Mr.Harish Bali.
Kolkata is the centre of food I personally live in Kolkata so know its varieties and beauty this types of food would only be available in Kolkata no where else at great cheap rates Thanks for visiting Kolkata and do revisit here again
Hello Harish ji,I am one of your regular followers. I have a suggestion to make, during your next visit to Kolkata do visit "Haji Rolls" at Behala. They have the best Rolls of kolkata
