another joyful review that makes me take another look through my fingers at my bank balance. the segue from your usual chilled and eloquent reflections on making music into the few seconds of surreal madness of the video was exquisite
Can't wait for it to be released! KOMA is way ahead of the game, Field Kit itself was just a marvel and FX seems to take it even further. We live in a wonderful time where more and more instrument-makers are taking worthwhile risks and expanding the universes of sound. In addition to KOMA, companies like Folktek, Noise Engineering and Metasonix are pushing all the right boundaries for me. Good times in that sense. But to return to Field Kit FX, do you think it could be a good friend to accompany an eurorack system or even a sampler like the Roland SP-404sx?
+Ellotus13 I fully agree! It's indeed a magic time for electronic music creation, with all the tools available now. I am thinking of putting the FKFX in my live 6U - a lot of power for the HP. With an SP it will be fun, too, both for creating sounds and as an FX.
I'm really enjoying your videos, decided to sell a couple of synths to buy a Field Kit - I'm fascinated by the idea of making ambient soundscapes from unexpected sources.
Great video, you are a boss. Please reiterate how you power this, does it require a modular power system or is it a desktop roller? Love your sounds man, you always inspire.
Very nice video. I have to get these. I would like to ask a few questions please. What is that green thing you are playing? What is that usb thing on your right top seen here both 3:45 many thanks in advance
Hi Hainbach, I love your videos! Such great information I can't find anywhere else. I have a few questions for you. What sort of attenuation is required, if any, to connect your tape players, op-1, etc, to the field kit? Would anything different be required for guitar directly in? Hoping you've got some advice. I'm really wanting to integrate the Field kit and the fx into my setup
Thanks so much, Hainbach. I think this was the confirmation I needed to make the dive! You're introducing new people to the community every day, keep it up 😍
Such a great piece of gear! Both Field Kits are every electronic musician's dream! I have question: I want to use the kits as a mixer for my classical guitar. Can I connect a midi foot controller via a midi-to-cv converter and program the controller in order to use it with my foot/feet?
Hello Hainbach! Thank you for all the wonderful videos on your channel! I’ve just got the Koma Field Kit en Field Kit FX with both expansion packs. I have a question I hope you’ll be able to answer: jouw do I use the feedback cable from the FX pack (stereo to 2x mono jack)? Can I use it to split signals like a mult? Thanks!
How is the build quality of the field kit fx, can I have an honest opinion as I found one used and although it's not very expensive it is still pricey. Also is it compatible with -+5v modular gear? Thank you.
Not directly, no. You can look into how Morton Subotnik and others did it though. There is a way to have CV manipulate audio signal and then record the signal.
Hey HAINBACH, I'm just about to buy a simple mixer and several pedals for my Korg Volcas, but accidentally found this device. Does this mixer part works for connection other devices or it's just internal Field Kit's mixer? Would be great if Field Kit FX could replace several other devices for me.
I'm trying to follow how you have this rigged up, but it's difficult to see all of the patch cables. So can you plug a synth or other source with a 1/4 inch cable directly into this device, say into the mixer, and then use the effects on that sound? Or do you have to use the CV inputs to use the effects? It's not totally clear to me. I don't have an synths with CV outputs at this time. (Also, thanks for posting. Your videos are great.)
Very inspiring video again - thanks for that. I have difficulties to understand the name of the device you put your violinsamples into. Could you tell please?
Thx! Yeah, that is a hard one - Cocoquantus MK2 by Ciat Lonbarde. Here is a video about it and the setup I used: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8jBpibMzs28.html
Nice video as always! I have a question, regarding tape releases, where does one go to records lets say 100 tapes, or is it mainly record them yourself type of thing?
Since the original Field Kit is part of my "C45" setup I could not miss it. The FX is something I would love to carry around with me on my trips though.
