Unfortunately the fusion can be veiler/imperm/mournered because once u negate the fusion the "cannot negate activated" part stops applying, so it'll negate it the activated effect on resolution.

hmmm when I think of it, that does make sense. Weird sequencing for sure, veiler negating the continuous effect and then activated effect, being a 2 in 1

@@ianokan9120the "cannot be negated" effect is continuous, so the melodious monsters lose their protection after that.

That's how powercreep goes unfortunately. It's how we ended up with cards like Nib and Droll in the first place... But now Konami needs to make cards play through those powerful handtraps in order to sell new cards. Then Konami will need to powercreep Nib and Droll to check the new level of powercreep they have created and the cycle repeats.

@@monkfishy6348 I think it’s either that or they will need to start making new designs that will help mitigate future formats, or rather, better going second with those non-engine staples, because clearly, they’re getting desperate. One can even say, like any other company, that they’re TOO HUNGRY for $$$. Format’s going to be beyond diverse unless they get enough data to start hitting decks in the next banlist.

Problem is, Melodious deserves something like this. The archetype has been unplayable for 8 years already, so it's time Konami cut it some slack and made it a properly competitive deck.

At bare minimum Melodious is just barely a tier 1.5 amongst a ton of decks with similar power levels and its one of the few decks of that power level to be able to play through Nibiru and Droll and then still be resilient enough to play through Ash. The only thing that would really stop it from being a tier 1 deck is it is too fair. It needs a easy to get to negate and/or 1 more solid interruption.

extremely consistent, can play 15+ flex spots, plays with 1 card, inherently resilient, etc.
