@@TheSliferSlacker199 The issue isn't the applications in Blue-Eyes, it's the fact that it's another generic way to get Dragons and Spellcasters into the GY. It also means that if any of the Blue-Eyes cards _are_ playable, generic Dragon/Spellcaster strategies can probably use this to splash them as an engine. Also, it's just an example.
Did you even watch the video? He clearly signified the issues with generic Link 1's being abusable by overpowered decks. You are a classic reason why the media always push for clickbait, sensationalist headlines. Faux outrage and fake pearl clutching is your forte. xD
The Linkuriboh example ignores the fact that it was hit specifically because the Snake-Eyes deck was too new and we couldn't directly hit anything. Linkuriboh and honestly Savage Dragon tbh could come back to 3 if you banned Apo and Flamberge. A one negate per turn end board in Snake-Eye isnt anything too crazy. We'd need to also hit Yubel though, Fiend Link rn is basically just Diet Snake-Eye and Lotus can make Linkuriboh.
Electrumite doesn’t have any overpowered Pendulum decks to enable. It just increases consistency, which Pendulum needs *way* more than the other mechanics.
Links are so powerful at the moment because they are soo generic, you wont find many fusion, syncro, or xyz monsters in general decks unless it is there archeype focus. Meanwhile, you can put links into almost any deck
Here is a thing, If Spirit with eyes of blue was link 2 with the same effect and materials it would be almost useless. If the materials were not 1 lvl 4 or lower dragon/spellcaster and were instead archetype locked (1 Blue-eyes or 1 with eyes of blue or 1 white stone monster ) it would be almost as useless as if it was a link 2. In the end its not a link 1 monster problem, its that some cards have broken effects and link 1 monsters like spirit or striker dragon happen to be used outside of there respective decks to empower those 1 card combos, instead we should myb have a conversation about how few people (apart from some pro players) went out of there way to criticize thing like Calamity lock or "generic" link 1 monsters before but now that Blue-eyes has the ability to use those things NOW THATS THE BIG PROBLEM. Seems to be a bit of a bias there but hey sure what ever gets the views and clout i guess....
Printing the genex link is a great example of this, if a deck ever finds a way to splash genex or if they ever fit whatever reason print abother piece of genex support then itd probs need to go
I think Yu-Gi-Oh peaked with 2-card combos; there's just something perfect about seeing two cards that compliment each other perfectly. If you know me, you know I'm talking about Lunalight Kaleido Chick and Lunalight Tiger. Get both on the field and you can do cold fusion xD. However, I'm still okay with one-card combos when they have proper allowance for restrictions and potentially multiple routes based on extenders and interruptions. Within the last few years I think Live★Twin Spright had to be my favorite. I loved how the twins could get you into the Spright plays and vice-versa, but you had to be very deliberate because both engines could lock you out of your optimal plays if sequenced incorrectly (the Evil★Twins' revival effects lock into Fiends, while Spright would lock out Link-4s like Trouble Sunny and Unchained Abomination).
I don't think you understood my point. These link 1s are good for a variety of reasons but when the reason they are good is because they get another card into the GY that's a problem imo
Honestly the problem with Link-1s is they always will have the potential to be inherently broken by design. They are low investment/risk, high reward. You commit one body to the board, and get your plays going. In essence they aren't that different from 1-card combos, though they overlap these days. Even some of the most fair Link-1s like S-Force Nightchaser are strong by merit of just being a Link-1, because it allows plays not possible before. Because of this factor, you're getting engines like Orcust or Fiendsmith. Even if you commit two bodies, the fact that you can turn those two bodies that pivot to another line of play is the most frustrating thing about Links in general. You shouldn't be able to fold a link-2 or higher into a link-1. Going back to what you said about having lower tier decks access to Link-1s, to that I ask, what if that lower tier deck becomes more powerful like the case with SHS? They'd just be support away from going from weak to strong, its not that easy a problem to fix.
What Konami needs to do is limit archetypes to their own Part of a reason Snake eyes is so Op is the person is not limited to fire monsters only until they summon Promethian Princess
I like you bro , but I disagree in the main point of this video specifically , I think Konami want to make a lot of deck are competitive so we have great diversity , and also in same time they made overpowered cards rightnow and may thats going forward so this being also balanced by make you play old or others not that good cards ...primordial for example make normal monster playable in the right circumstances...ofcaurse afterall the Konami first thing will be focusing on money , but I am OK with the new ygo direction honestly.
Totally respect that! Not everyone will agree with me. But I do believe that they should focus on archetype specific cards rather than having a generic link 1 carry a 1 card combo.
I'm proud that, as a Pendulum player, you're calling out Electrumite being an issue. On Master Duel, it's rare I'm not specifically sending Astrograph before adding it back and adding back the scale I destroyed, so it's basically a "link that special summons from the deck with no restrictions that draws a card" which is the last thing we need.
The card that it searches for is a terrible card, so I don't think it really matters. It's a double summon for monsters the deck doesn't even use that floats into a worse Raigeki.
But the card it's not generic .,it's restrective for dragón lever 4 or lower or spellcaster., but i undestand your point link monster must not be generic anynore for it's Easy mecanic to summon
I think for some decks,having a link 3 is fine,just for those underpowered decks,for example blue eyes,@ignister,code talkers (to some extent) prank kids were low-ish powered decks (dont fully quote me on that) that had their link ones that helped the stratergy. The problem is when they make powerfull cards that are too generic and can be abused outside their intended archetype A good example of this was verte anaconda,in the predaplant stratergy its really not good at all but once it was so generic that people put it in their decks just to steal a powerful monster of other stratergys for whatever bs they were already playing (dark dragoon,destroyer phoenix enforcer,branded)
Also dragonlink and the blue-eyes card are more fair because they are valid chokepoints for the main strategy. Yo stop either of them you hurt the main board a lot. Feindmith is just extra or backup in any case ontop of the main strategy which is really unfair.
It requires any lv4 or lower dragon or spellcaster. There are literally hundreds of those. Sure is the effect for blue eyes, yes. But it's not about the effect, it's about getting a card in the GY that is hard to get there without link 1s
Without Apallousa and I:P decks like Snake-Eyes would only be a step up from some of the stronger mid-range decks we have today. We shouldn't be looking at link 1s and consistency hits. We should be looking at the generic boss monsters that warp the game every time a deck like Snake-Eyes comes out. We live in a day and age where Konami much like other companies of the past have recognized that bricking is bad in a game that was never designed to be as luck based as poker. If we brick because we got hand trapped then its fine but bricking for no real reason isn't. Even for the power level of the game its wrong to fix bad game design with more bad game design.
Gosh they just keep doing this huh? Something needs to change! .....But while you're at it Konami, could you give us something for Cyber Dragon? They desperately need some extenders and a link-1 packaged with a field spell would make them so much better.
Completely wrong…one card link are ABSOLUTELY necessary…making decks 100% better with a card like this is exactly what this game with the increase in power creep. Not every deck needs this, but when we do get a card like this, we should never write it off as ‘bad for the game’
It seems like the problem is link summoning but that's been konami's problem ever since XYZ stop with the unnecessary summoning mechanics just go back to fusion ritual special summons and synchro and that's it. All of these new mechanics they creep they overpower and then you can pull off combos with them and it just breaks the game compared to anything else I mean for god sakes look at Yu-Gi-Oh Vraines and you know Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal people were literally pulling off from 1 summoning it just doesn't make any logical sense. At that point the game is broken
They need to make powerful Link monster more restrictive for their archetype and weak Link monster more generic. I think Tri brigade and Spright Links are great in their kind of Deck, you'll not see them in Snake Eyes or Yubel Deck, those are good balanced Link Monster. Konami truly need to focus on Deck synergie and making good support for existing Archetype than just make broken cards oriented for already broken Deck...there are tons of cool waiting Deck begging for support...
No we don't. The problem with electrumite is that it's too generic. We need more archetypal link monsters like the D/D/D link that only specific pendulum decks can use and also forces them to stay in their lanes.

You misunderstood my point. this could've been a link 1 with no name, I don't care about the effect as much as I care about how generic the cards are. If the blue eyes card said it required a light lv4 or lower dragon or spellcaster, I'd have no problem with it. I have no issue with blue eyes and I'm happy they will be good again And I agree with you on snake eye and fiendsmith but link 1s need a change too

We wouldnt be playing this game rn if that card didnt exist. Your thumbnail should have moon of the closed sky which is any two effect monsters or the feindsmith link-1 which you can go into off that. People are using that like verte anaconda rn you cant even play a proper game without them going into feindsmith after you wasted all your resources stopping the main play.
In the original Manga each player could only activate 1 Spell Card FROM THEIR HAND (not field) and any other spell/trap must be set first before they can be activated (so 2 cards set per turn). Quick-Play spells don’t exist and the Spells that were set could be activated during the opponent‘s turn like a quick-Play spell and the 1 Spell Card you can activate from your hand could be activated during your battle phase like a Quick-Play spell. If Konami implemented these simple mechanics from the original YuGiOh manga the game wouldn’t be so broken as it is nowadays.

It's blue eyes, it's been like what 8 years since they were situationally meta. They have been consistently getting shit support, they can have it. What konami needs to stop right now is buffing the strongest deck with new cards getting it even stronger and stronger that it's stupid.
It's not about blue eyes, it's simply about the materials required for it. This card will see play in dragon and spell caster decks that need to get a card in the GY. I'm happy blue eyes got support but just make it less generic for other decks
