These motors are used on modernizations of some small lifts in Finland.

Sadly, Arriva Kent and Surrey no longer has any Mini Pointer Darts. A few of them went to Arriva Kent Thameside. The ALX400 B7TLs are also a rare sight now. Out of the 49, there are only 18 left. 0 at Maidstone, 3 at Tunbridge Wells, 10 at Gillingham, and 5 went to Luton. All the good buses are disappearing.

Someone I met asked me if I wanted to go on any buses. I suddenly realized that I haven't looked at buses in the UK for quite a long time. I shows how boring they are. Non-hybrid euro 6 buses are utterly crap. So slow and underpowered. And nowadays bus drivers go so painfully slowly (maybe due to fuel price). And while hybrid euro 6 are nice, I have seen them all so many times that I am bored of them. Buses were interesting 10 years ago. There were many variations of body and chassis combinations, which you no longer get. There were weird and whacky prototypes of the new era of hybrid and electric buses. There were loads of euro 4 buses with interesting gearboxes. And drivers used to go fast.

The airbus comparison is a bit like the Boeing 747-400 and the Boeing 747-SP. The short 747-SP had all the same specs but had a much longer range and better economy and performance.

On the topic of baby versions of products Optare did a baby version of the Versa, Solo, Metrocity and Tempo (they also did a jumbo version of the Solo but thats off topic)

Pointer Darts were some of the best single decks ever made. Now the best single deck you get is an Enviro 200 MMC with an Allison gearbox, these are incredible modern buses and can apparently do over 70 if they are not speed limited and also have insane acceleration, Unfortunately the E200 MMCs with Voith gearboxes are absolutely terrible in comparison, they are slow and unreliable.

Does the first lift have an updated VF drive. I don't see the jolt when driving on inspection / after safety breaking that is charachteristic of the older ecodisc VFs
