I just really feel like it was a missed opportunity to integrate a drum pad into it like the MPC Key 61 as an all in one unit. Like for me i'm just getting started in my small home studio so desk real-estate is at a huge premium, so if I could integrate a 61 key keyboard and a drumpad in the same size as my MK3 and FL Key 37, and retain the same functionality, thatd be a huuuuge win.
I can understand that. I personally wouldn’t like having the pads on there. I enjoy having them on two separate instruments. However, that’s not a bad idea. I’ve had the Akai MPK 49 and never used the pads but maybe one day I would.
No Ni keyboard will ever support Maschine again - they want you to buy the Maschine hardware. Neither will one ever contain drum pads- they want you to buy the Maschine hardware... 😠😠
It’s just mind boggling. Why do I want to waste more desk space when I have a keyboard??? To not have ANY integration whatsoever is mind-boggling. Heavy Maschine user here using a mk2. When that dies I won’t be going back. Moving on to something else.
You need to use a polyphonic patch to hear polyphonic aftertouch - the patch you used there was monophonic, so like with a polyphonic pad while playing a chord you can dig in to individual notes and just use the aftertouch on that one note (or however many notes you want) to control what the aftertouch is assigned to, commonly the filter, volume modulation, pitch, but you can assign any modulatable parameters to the aftertouch - pretty powerful !
Theit whole line is getting hardware and software upgrades. Maschine will follow, I'm happy they dont want to support the current MAschine as it's 5 years due an update.

@@davidbueso3840 yeah I agree with you, a lot of people are not happy I think NI realize this and said they are now looking into integration. I still think they are likely updating the code base for.maschine to keep it in line with the other products like traktor and komplete control so they can all work together better.
I will say Maschine (software) has gotten some updates throughout this last year. So I don't think they are done with Maschine. They are just focusing on this Keyboard at the moment. We'll see what the future holds.
No i won't be upgrading to this. I'll stick to my S49-MK2 using Maschine intergration. Its what I enjoy using along with Studio One. Maschine allows me make ideas and bring new beats to life! I hope they do something about it or most of us will be sticking to our mk2 for more years to come.
Important for blind musicians. DO NOT BUY THE MK3 THERE IS NO ACCESSIBILITY. I have been waiting many years for a manufacturer of midi and hardware keyboards to implement accessibility for vision impaired and blind musicians. After listening to the Komplete Kontroll accessibility vid I started saveing and 8 months later I finally got the money together and purchased the MK3 that came out during this time. However the MK3 has no accessibility implemented that left me floored as the only thing the MK3 offers me over my RP500 is a better feeling keybed. I have messaged Native instruments twice and still no reply, this adds to my very expensive frustration in Australia this is a $1300.00 frustration for the MK3 S61. I have been in contact with the music store that I purchased this from and they have contacted the suppliers and still nothing. The MK3 has been out for 6 months now, Where is the accessibility functionality for the MK3? This is the first time a product has had accessibility implemented in older versions and the latest and greatest has nothing to work with, this would be like Apple not including Siri in it's devices. The other frustrating thing is while waiting for the keyboard to be delivered I had purchased the spotlight Ireland software instrument so more money down the drain so far. Not happy Jan
Bro, I love your optimism and dedication to the brand, but they made you change your workflow to support a new product that doesn’t support their own product… meaning they definitely don’t support you or your needs and desires. Native Instruments are hedging there relationships with content creators and big names to show support for their short comings. Keep your vibe alive and don’t go for the okie doke!! It might get better but at this point they are wild’n. IMHO
I never understood why Maschine hardware couldn’t integrate with Komplete Kontrol vst in other DAWs. It all makes sense now. The music theory stuff you mention that’s missing in Maschine software is probably a hardware selling point. Hopefully these will be addressed.
I think it will be addressed. Like I mentioned, this all just the beginning. Outside of the Maschine software not recognizing the Kontrol, I’ve had a great time using it.
I can see Maschine MK3 & S series MK3 Keyboards are now pretty much for different audiences. I didn't realize the integration with Maschine was so pathetic.. I can understand why people are complaining online now. The device is kinda bricked when you use it with the same companies top teir platform (Maschine). It makes ZERO Sense. Shoot yourself in foot type beat. NI
The keyboard not working with Maschine is what pushed me to just work in Logic. I don't even mind the mixer buttons and what not being on the keyboard. I just want to be able to use play assist, browse and control the sounds when using Maschine. Also can't forget Transport control. lol Yea, hopefully they make a change with this soon.
Its funny how you read all these reviews but when you do a google search you find out all the problems this thing has just getting it setup. But you won't find. a youtube video telling you that part. Shame on you content providers.
Could it possibly be that everyone doesn't have the same problems setting it up? I know someone who has a completely different experience with the keyboard than me. So is it wrong that I don't share his experience, even though I didn't experience it?
It’s clear that Logic is more clear to do a beat or a song since The begining to The end! I’m still using machine mk3 on midi mode just for The quality of The pads for my drums because i love them a Lot and i don’t wanna use my midi Keybord to play my drums i’m afraid about doing dommage to my feeling keys. The komplete kontrol mk3 intégration with Logic + all his new features is a game changer! I sold my MK 2 to buy it. Thanks for your video bro about research expansion’s Samples! Not upgrading. I think the MK2 board is better because it works well with Maschine. I didn’t really see anything cool at all about this new board. Seems like a step backwards.
Bruh you might as well get a Roland or a Yamaha. They both come with sounds surpassing Kontak, they’re both standalone, and they both come with faders and have way more control in Logic as well as Abelton… oh, and that polyphonic aftertouch is so basic now it’s kind of an afterthought (see how i did that?😁). They dogged us Maschine users with this one.
ni claim in their forum that the vast majority of kk3 users are happy. i disagree, every forum and comment section i have read, the vast majority of users are unhappy. ni have a track record of pissing off their loyal customers.

You can also browse sound through Kontakt 7, same as what you're doing here. Load it up on a separate track, and you can hear the previews. It's really the same thing, but I think you get the added benefit of being able to load multiple instruments together to layer sounds better (not necessarily for drum machine designer, but other instruments for your song). Just thought I'd mention it.
NI says they’re working on making it Maschine compatible. That’s their new selling point. I think they’ve ditch the polyphonic aftertouch thing, being that EVERY new MIDI controllers have that as a basic . So NI is like, “yea buy it we’re making it Maschine compatible “. Lies. As long as it doesn’t control Maschine, Im sticking to an Akai MPK for a DAW controller.

I’m confused by your demo of the polyphonic aftertouch. Isn’t the point of polyphonic aftertouch to make each individual key respond individually to aftertouch like in a chord you can apply after touch to one or more notes but not all?

That’s 🧢 It is an obvious cost saving measure since the actual hardware of the new board is exactly the same as the old board but with less buttons and less screen. That is cheaper and that’s why they made those design choices.
Copped the MK2 recently.. was really trying to decide between this and the MK3. I'm a heavy Maschine user so I think I've made a good decision. If some time in the future I integrate with a DAW I might reconsider the MK3.

Imagine Apple releasing an iPad that’s not compatible with messenger and FaceTime… shit don’t even sound right😂😂😂 Buck NI all they do is sell new products and not develop what they release. All of their major updates are around a new product. I was actually waiting for a new Maschine before making another major purchase but they kinda killed that with this release
I can only guess that they are about to drop a new maschine software and hardware that all integrates with the new keyboard. Otherwise why would they remove maschine support?
Seems like you’re making things way too difficult. When I did use maschine, I had a template in logic set to where the maschine software was routed to different channels in logic on a pad by pad basis. That way you use maschine like normal and don’t have to drag and drop samples into logics drum machine
I don’t think it’s difficult at all. I have a template as well that does the same thing. It’s about workflow to me. Since the Kontrol isn’t recognized by the Maschine software, I will just use the DAW it works with. And once I am already using Logic, I’d rather just use the Drum Sequencer inside of Logic and swap out the drums at the end. It allows me to do all types of edits etc. It only takes a few seconds to switch to the drums I want to use.
@@DDS825 If it works for you then it works for you I guess. For me, the drums determine the route I go when making the beat a lot of times, so changing them afterwards is blasphemous to me🤷🏾♂️
NI is a dumb company. Been with them since 2012. They have no customer service at all now either. Akai is murdering this company with hardware, even their standalone plugins are dope. Drums just knock different in the mpc too, maschine sounds tinny and weak in comparison.

I sent a comment on hopefully you can make a vid on why those who are having alot of problems on the NI forum, with the komplete kontrol 3.0 that was released today.. such as lag and other issues that were taken away from 2.94 .. it posted on NI forum.. if you're going to promote. You should be honest before the release date, my opinion only.. ok, yes, maschine is a no go .. I only use maschine as a sound mod.. love what you brotha but be honest you are the first post on this 30 days later..
@@certifiedbeatz I didn't see that comment if it was posted on here. This video was recorded a couple of days ago, so if an update was released today, I didn't get to cover it in this video. I can't speak on what other people are experiencing. I'm sharing my experience using the keyboard and how I adjusted my workflow to use it. Personally, I didn't experience any lag.I generally do these videos on hardware to show what I've done with it overtime. As far as being honest before release, that's what I did. This was all my experience.

I appreciate that. As I mentioned in this video, I just decided to use Logic as my DAW. When using Kontrol in Logic I have used the transport controls, the screen & knobs for leveling and panning sounds, and the Komplete Kontrol vst. While using the Komplete kontrol vst, I’ve browsed and edited sounds, used play assist and polyphonic after touch. I can honestly say that I haven’t experienced major issues while using Logic. I can’t speak on other DAWs such as Studio One, because I don’t use it.
