I had the Mk2 and moved up to the Mk3. Personally, overall it's a better experience than the Mk2. My only problem was I couldn't preview all the libraries, it was selective, but got that resolved.

Same here but I just wish NI would integrate all of its features with the Maschine software rather than just having Kontakt opened.

I almost bought a MK3 when the B3 key on my Mk2 stopped working. I saw a review on Sweetwater saying they dropped Maschine integration and decided against it. Had to learn how to fix the dead key on the Mk2 myself but I'm glad I did. They need to fix this it's really appalling that they would just drop that integration completely.

Exactly. I'm glad you have your keyboard fixed. The Maschine integration with the new keyboard would make a huge difference.

Appreciate the S/O family. Thanks so much for that! But yeah it funny how thr updates are now. Maschine S Series MK3 works now but still not recognizing in Maschine software. Its just a CC midi controller but it still shows the GUI on the S Series???? I dont know it weird, lol smh

Sadly they already said that the only thing they will bring back regarding to Maschine is the transport control. But all the other deep integration features we had in the MK2 will never be ported to the MK3. This really sucks.

I'll tell you this: one can never be certain; they might reconsider. Perhaps in the future, they will decide to integrate Maschine with the MK3, although that may take some time.

They could at least let you use komplet kontrol as a vst in maschine so I could use the s61 at full potential.. it's works in cubase but I like to use my maschine and all of my expansions and maschine software with komplete ultimate

Exactly. That's what I hope will happen. Even though a lot of people are certain that NI will leave things the way they are, that really negates the goal. I'm hoping that eventually we'll be able to use the S-Series with Maschine to its fullest capacity. It might happen but I could be wrong. You never know.

The MK2 is way better. They still haven’t released midi templates or accessibility, which was supposed to be out a long time ago. I am convinced they never will. Labelling controls is also ridiculous on the MK3. The words are randomly shortened vs. whole words on the MK2. I really hate my MK3 and really considering selling it and taking the loss. I have not bought one piece of NI software since I got this thing, nor will I. I usually buy everything as released so they have missed out on my purchase of Piano Crosstalk; Schema Light, and participation in all recent sales. All that said…not using Komplete Kontrol is crazy. I can’t even really understand how/why you wouldn’t use it. This is where you can map everything to your liking. It’s critical. Kontakt is ok…but the MK3 doesn’t allow anything but combining sounds that all sound together vs. being able to create legit combis on the MK2, so what is the point of it anymore.

This is the ONLY reason that I have NOT upgraded! I’m staying with my MK2. The Maschine integration is king. I think this was a horrible move to not include the integration in an upgrade. Like…WTF?!?!

I agree. Their hardware was one of the best investments I have ever made since it genuinely enhanced my workflow as a music producer. While the MK3 is good, it could be even better. Hopefully, they will fix this problem in some way by adding Maschine integration to it in the future.

@@jaunti Well bro, NI announced ADAMANTLY in the forums that they are only adding transport controls and that’s it. Crazy story real quick Jaunti…I came from a FL Studio background but in 2012, I bought a Maschine Mk2 because my Guitar Center guy Guaranteed me it was the future, which it was. So in addition I got Komplete Ultimate as well. I didn’t understand Maschine AT ALL and there wasn’t a lot of tutorials if any at that time so it just sat as I used the Komplete Ultimate. I ended up selling the Maschine but I kept the Maschine software. Then the Kontrol Mk1 came out. I didn’t have enough to get it so I thought I missed out until that Mk2 dropped. Yo, when I hooked that Kontrol Mk2 up to the software…I INSTANTLY understood Maschine and NEVER LOOKED BACK! I bought a Mk3 Maschine and this has been my main work flow ever since because of the INTEGRATION. So for me, this is VERY heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹 that the integration is gone dude.

@@Realliedoe No, I'm agreeing with you 100%. I spoke with NI about this and they informed me that is why they are so insistent about it. The MK3 should be integrated with the Maschine software like the MK2, according to other people's persistent attempts to persuade them. Anything is possible. I'm not saying they will but they might eventually add it because they value feedback from their devoted customers. Waves chose to reinstate perpetual licenses solely because of the huge backlash they received last year. The negativity they encountered was too much for them to endure. Concerning the absence of the Maschine integration, NI is not receiving a lot of feedback so they probably think it's not a big deal to them like it is to us.

The MK3 will NEVER work with maschine; NI planned it that way from the start, as they've done their "research" and figured out that very few people use both maschine and the keyboard together. So in order to boost their profit margin, they removed some of the buttons that the mk2 had, that were essential to work with machine. If you want to use a keyboard with maschine, get the MK2 like I did; It's actually a better, more powerful keyboard, with more controls. The only thing it's missing is aftertouch, and I find it a small price to pay to get the amazing integration that you actually paid for.
