~What's good PULSE family!~
So, its been a couple of months plus now, I have had enough time to do another FULL assessment of how I felt about the ‪@NativeInstruments‬ Komplete Kontrol MK3 with Maschine. Finally from my development of my personal thoughts, I had to open up and be honest about now me ONLY using the S Series MK3. Check out the vid and let me know what you guys are thinking about the MK3, if you have it yet and how you feel about it. Kontrol S MK3 can be used with Maschine as a regular MIDI controller. This means that while you can play your plug-in synthesizers and instruments with your Kontrol S MK3 in Maschine via MIDI. So lets see where this takes us, lol Also check out some exclusive footage of behind the scenes production that I have had a couple of people aske me to do. So PULSE fam this is for you. I’m happy for the mk3 users who wanted integration with mk3 keyboard. This is good to know in case I wanna dust the midi cobwebs off my maschine mk3 and re-add it to my desk. Glad I didn’t get rid of it. 🎹♥️

I sure hope so family. I just wanted to capture a moment that would help out if possible and show you guys that the Kontrol S Series MK3 works in Maschine but not the way we would expect. That's was the initial focus but so glad I caught all. Gonna start doing more of these type of vids. Appreciate you again family! I'm humbled! 💯

I really dig this format. I always find it inspirational watching others go thru their process. This is especially helpful for me now as I try to get back on the horse. Tough time right now. My group will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in October 2026, but we just lost 1 of the 3 original members last week. 😢🎹♥️

Nice one, brother. I thought about making a video about my thoughts on the S-Series MK3. I received my replacement last month. I wanted to put in my two cents.

Yeah I just got my replacement a week ago but even before the replacement I started to feel like the transition from the MK2 was better for me. I guess over time I started to also appreciate the Kontakt 7 framework inside of it which makes it a whole lot easier to use. It definitely cuts down on the load time for me. I don't even use Komplete Kontrol like I used to with the MK2. But there are gonna be some that still say the MK2 is better and in some cases it is but once MK3 fully becomes available in Maschine.............so we will see. Appreciate you as always brother! Great video, I LOVE the Kontrol S series, I thought it was a gimmick when it first came out, nope it's the real deal, especially if you are not primarily a Maschine user, like myself. Just got the S49 and I'm using it with Studio One, the daw integration is amazing.

I’m a bit surprised you don’t know music theory because you make it look like you do. I usually put in the drums that way too, kick and snare then hats. But I don’t like using the keyboard for drums, I use a Maschine Mikro for them. Nice work, you just put it all out there.

That's the only way I can be now Ken. Some like it and some dont but at least it's honest and I hope it helps someone else be creative and create. That's the main reason I do these. I use both the keyboard and the Maschine MK3 for drums. It depends if I do kits or one shots. Appreciate you as always Ken. Hope all is well! Blessings!

@2:16 I believe its only when you are using Kontakt 7 that the MK3 has more integration inside of Maschine. Unfortunately they didn't add any transport control or anything in comparison to the MK2 models. If you opened up a 3rd party plugin outside of Kontakt, I don't know if it'll look the same. At least it doesn't do it like that for me and my MK3 within Maschine. I use Cubase as well, mainly for recording, but for production I'm in Maschine standalone. I tried creating templates for Maschine to work inside of Cubase but to me, when Maschine is in "slave mode" inside of Cubase the workflow is a lil slower because of the lack of being able to use the transport controls inside of Maschine, nor controlling the tempo, etc... My template for Maschine personally allows me to work MUCH faster than when I try to put them together. #JustMyTwoCents

No I totally agree. I use Cubase personally MORE than just the standalone Maschine program. I use Maschine as a VST plugin and it is much faster and I do more through Cubase. I have never needed to make a template as I love to be able to work from scratch ALL the time. It I understand the need for a template. If you open up a third party and it's affiliated then it will show up (in my experiences) And being that everything pretty much runs through Kontakt sas it all. But I have noticed that my Massive, my Razor, etc still gives me those prompts like that Kontakt 7 does on the MK3. This wasn't supposed to be when NI first came out with this. I find myself using the MK3 S Series alot more than my MK2 but we will see where this goes with NI. Appreciate you coming through and checking out the vid and the channel and dropping a comment! @@PULSEMusicGroup My template still allows me to work from scratch every time as well. It just makes it so that my groups are already laid out and blank so that I can go through and add all of my melodic sounds, drums sounds, etc... The way I use Maschine IS unique compared to how most use it because I run in standalone primarily but I've personally been working on my template since I was selling Maschines back at Guitar Center many moons ago lol... Maybe one of these days we can work on something and/or I can start showing how I do some of my beats as well to showcase said template and some tips and tricks I may have for the people 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I just recently came up onto your videos so I'm liking the content good brother. You got some good stuff, keep it going... #VeryInspirational

And you are totally right as far as Maschine as well. You can only use it in Kontakt 7. And because the MK3 S Series is firmware for Kontakt that definitely makes sense.

Because it's still recognizing the midi controller the feature for mixing isn't capable. Only the instruments and the controls via cc midi. Appreciate you checking out the vid and the channel and hope it inspires and motivates! Blessings!

Been trying to get my regular midi controller keyboard to work with Maschine software but no luck. What do you do when there's no Midi tab in Maschine preferences.

I understand that you aren't seeing your midi in Maschine. Have you made sure the drivers are updated and if you don't mind me asking, which midi keyboard is it? Usually Maschine doesn't have a problem finding that. That's what made me think of the drivers and updates. @@PULSEMusicGroup It's a Nektar Impact LX25 I've used for years - it works fine as a virtual instrument. I'm working with a "Deep Matter" bass loop called Bass [120] C#m Charina. However when i try to search for the sound that is used in that loop I can't find it. Maschine doesn't tell me. i want to be able to play that sound on a keyboard and I'm lost. Thank you for replying.

It's true......there are some things that makes it first time frustrating to use and that's because you are unfamiliar. Ever developer has issues honestly. Even AKAI. But you find your thing and that's it. Native Instruments sounds are off the chain and that's why I rock with them. I have seen some people complaining about the sounds from Akai. EXACTLY.......But you see in the video I was using Maschine MK3 and the MK3 61 with Maschine. So I don't know......nothing. I have seen in NI website that said that. But we will see where this goes. It's not that it doesn't work with it it's that you don't get any machine controls on the keyboard like you do on MK2.

@@wesleyforman8391 What I think he was referring to was the fact that when you use MK3 it shows the VST on the screen and its weird that it does that but doesn't have the controls in Maschine. I get it.

@@DanielCalloway-sm2kn yeah I'm pretty sure NKS and the VSTs will still work just obviously not any controls, track views scenes or patterns are usable on the keyboard. I'm holding off until they figure something out I do like the polyester touch keyboard but I already have a Hydra for that
