I think it was truly a blessing to witness this amazing performance. Curtis William's Keytar solo is probably the best I've ever seen. The synchronized dancing is badass, it is impossible to hear this and not want to move. Truly a great era for music!
Kool and the Gang are one of the greatest live bands in history. I also got to see Earth Wind and Fire who were equally as fantastic live. Fantastic musicians, all of them!
That is the keyboard solo to end all keyboard solos! Curtis Williams is a legend it gets better and better each time, K&G are legends. No point arguing between Earth Wind & Fire, Gap Band & K&G. They're all funktastic. Just don't make them like that anymore, it's all about the money today...
Truth!!!! I saw K&TG live back in '87 and was absolutely worth the price of the ticket!!!! They played this song and the keyboard solo put the place absolutely upside down, the people went absolutely nuts!!!!! what a time!!!!
This performance was so special because they were in New Orleans the mecca of great music. 😊 I have never heard any live performance sound this damn good. The vocals and all the instruments were on point. Horns drums bass guitar lead guitar keyboards and percussion were immaculate. Sound system was the best in the business and the stage setup was top shelf. 😊
No doubt from 1982 to 1988 they were simply the best band of that era. Always great in any era they performed but they were at their zenith during that period and no artist or group could match them.
hype876 Earth Wind and Fire's last tour was in 1981, they came back and toured in 1987/88. During 87/88 Kool and the Gang were still the best band out there.
Muzik Michael Well then what are you talking about. My comment said from 82-88 they were the best band, so why are you all talking about the Commodores from the 70's????
That Solo from Curtis Williams is amazing. Still gives me goose bumps. Zhat´s when Music was made by Musicians and not a Computer like that crap today.
So what's the difference between this amazing group and today's crap artists? Just two words - REAL TALENT!! Keep your Bieber's and Gaga's away from the mics you greedy producers and deaf record company owners - we don't want our ears contaminated with such shit, we want real singers and musicians like Kool & The Gang!
those days they worked for people and creating something good to enjoy, but now days, they use their faces and bodies to gather money in every way possible, shame
no AIDS in 1983. Most people couldn't .afford coke People were skinny because they were more active! People actually went outside instead of staring at video games and computers all day. We also danced a lot.
JT elevated KOOL and the GANG to a whole new level. Bottom line he is a talent that can't be duplicated. Have you heard how many times he can change his voice according to what song he is singing. I don't have a idol but if I did I would choose him and wish I had all the talent he has.
the REAL deal soul, funk, groove, great feel flow MUSIC! Joy celebration! I put them up with such as Chic, EW&F, Stevie Wonder, Isley's, Whispers, or Brothers Johnson everybody's Everything Carlos Santana
How can they be "coked-up" when they're dancing in unison? Ignorant people who've never performed in front of an audience on a "musical high" - Yeah, that's right !
"Get Down On It" was from '81 ... Here, they perform it with an "updated" sound, plus a crew of young break dancers doing their thing in the front ... Hey : 1983, you know ! (Yeah : I know break dance is old-fashioned by now, but back then it THE sh*t !!!)
It's April 2024 I am a 43 year old white male and I am busting a Grove to this incredible song and band. This song should have been number 1 in 1981.!!! Great music is great music no matter anything else. Everybody enjoy life family friends and great misic because it will pass u by in a heartbeat.
It's called a Moog Liberator, but you are right, Curtis Williams did da damn thang! Nobody can fuck with Stevie wonder though, check out Stevie's keytar solos !
J.T..was exciten with the band! but when he went on his own! he had me to..feel his needs! then he prove my needs!.and had me dreamin! YES! them was some of his songs!
