I agree with all of you but want to reiterate that treating them like criminals is not the answer. Putting someone in jail because they use drugs is a drain on the system, it does no good for the addict, it hurts them more and does not fix the problems. We as a society overall need to advance the understanding that to help drug addiction we should consider mental health as the primary solution. Instead of sentencing them to jail, sentence them to a rehabilitation center instead. Also, helping the general public to see it as a disease rather than a crime is more productive overall in aiding those that suffer by abusing drugs. Take the stigma out of it, and treat it as a disease, which it is. It's insane that we live in the 21st century and globally we are still fighting to figure this stuff out. The science is there, we just need to pay attention to it and do what's right to aid those in need. No matter what that need it. Including Drug Addiction. Also, does Korea treat other mental afflictions with the same harsh sentencing? Do they send depressed people to prison? Is mental illness seen as a crime overall? I mean, were are the lines and why isn't the public being educated in a way that will help more than hurt? Surely there is some kind of Public Education Programs?

Today, I just saw the news that Lee, Sun-Kyun. Is probably suicide because of all of this. What a shame someone so young had to die just because of a drug scandal. He could have had rehabilitation if it was that bad and start anew. He didn't deserve all the hate. Koreans seems like a scary culture to be born on, if they don't change their ways

As a kid who was bullied and teased in school, if the Bullies change and realize that what they were doing was wrong, and change their behaviour I'm all good with it. It should not be a dark mark on the rest of their life. As for Yoo Ah In, he reminds me of Robert Downey Jr. A crazyily talented actor who was just going through their own troubles. I'd rather see him get the help he needs so that he doesn't turn to what ever drugs and go on to live happy and healthy.

Yoo Ah In reminds me of Matthew Perry and RDJ he just needs help and he could honestly get better and end up helping those who also suffer from addiction. I can understand a country not wanting drugs flowing around their country and im not pro-drugs but i do believe that its important to while banning drugs to help those you get addicted to it because drug addiction is an illness.

So, my heart breaks for him, Yoo Ah In. I genuinely feel bad for him because this is somebody who is struggling with addiction, and Korea doesn't seem to understand that punishing the addict is extremely dangerous and can ultimately cost him his life. The Hieora case feels like she suddenly hit fame with a role and then the people who knew her in the past wanted a piece of that money by trying to take her down with a magazine. The fact that everybody suddenly backed out under scrutiny says it all. It sounds like it was the popular kids she used to hang out with that went in on her tbh if they had messages and stuff. Reading everything and the counter statements makes it very much seem she was immature and got caught up with a bad crowd at one time but didn't really do a lot, probably just enjoyed their reputation.

Yoo Ah-In is an extremely good actor, highly intelligent and very creative - typically people like this has a predisposition to addiction to 'escape' - he should get professional help but the agencies of these actors and singers, should take mental health seriously. Their industry has a "cookie cutter" mentality and the high suicide rate is proof of that.

The Kim Tae Ri one is rubbish... Viki uses volunteer translators and Viki is primarily a paid subscription platform. Hiring a translator for a self-published RU-vid channel when it's not a main source of income is nuts. I would've asked for volunteers too! I could understand if she was actively creating content for the platform like IU and asking for volunteer translators, but this is a personal channel for the fans. Hiring translators/subbers is expensive. Fans need to watch more Korean variety shows like "I Live Alone"... a lot of these actors are not as loaded as we believe them to be. Seoul is more expensive to live in than NY!

I mean 90 % of Hollywood actors have used substances but that has not halted their career. i like Yoo Ah In and Hieora. Hope they can come back stronger. I used to like Song Joong Ki too but the way he treated her ex wasn't so nice, so not a huge fan anymore. Anyway, i like the proper conduct of people but sometimes when you become famous, other people will just come out for their own benefit and drag you down. Is a very thin line on the balance of staying up or going down.

OK he did wrong I get that he's been humiliated for what he's done but to be treated as an outcast without a second chance to put right the wrongs and address his drug problem is in my view very mean and unfair.Hes an amazing actor and with that comes a lot of mental and emotional stress especially the long hours and being overworked ..Has anybody even took the time to sit down and find out why he needed to take drugs..No.. just destroy his livelyhood and his acting career which netizens have great joy in doing. Its pathetic celebrities can't get on with their own lives like those in other countries. The bullying and gossip must have been so bad for Lee Sun Gun's 12 yr old child to be sent abroad suddenly. The trauma is going to affect him lifelong. In other countries high profile drug users are allowed a chance at rehab. In Korea they are doomed at the slightest mention of drugs. And the investigation has not even been completed. The actor is not a murderer, rapist, attacker. His actions affected no one else apart from himself. The police and authorities shd focus their time and resources on real criminals and helping the public. And if people who don't even know him personally are "offended" they shd get a grip and not be so full of themselves. Maybe they shd go help out in a drug abuse centre if they want to change the world.

@@ForeverAmber_1 not sure. I thought there was a lot of drama after that. He was caught lying multiple times and releasing a weirrd statement defending criminals. But he deleted it all. And so on… Dont really know but whatever he does now he is getting hated for it and shows and concerts are not really attracting much audience . Very sad. Seems like the public just stopped caring about him and forgot him. But I think he is still somewhat popular in phillipiens and malaysia ☺️

Lee Seung gi really shouldn't be on this list. He didn't commit a crime and has been in several projects since his engagement, although I won't lie and say knetz haven't been absolutely destroying him for months. His statement was simply defending his right to marry whomever he wants. He never said his in laws weren't guilty but that people need to get their facts straight and recognise the media is playing a huge game right now. His Seoul concerts were sold out across 4 days, another exaggeration of the media. He had a whole successful Asia tour as well. He has had packed fan meets in Malaysia and in the Philippines. He has more concerts in Japan billboard at the end of the month and will also be performing in France January where the VIP and early bird tickets were sold out in minutes. He is currently hosting sing again 3 which is number 1 in its slot and ratings increasing with each episode. So yeah you can't really say he is cancelled when he is not having any problems with being booked and busy 😅 The US concert controversy was also really exaggerated and blown out of proportion. Seeing how silent it's been since that controversy with no articles or statement about it being resolved, it's pretty obvious how they were reaching to make him at fault for everything. It's very clear the media have it out for him because he is the easy target. His international fans are on his side and not all knetz are out for blood. He is doing well all things considered, projects lined up, donations etc. Plus he is expecting his first child next year too. It isn't all doom and gloom 😊

This is rubbish! There are many fans that don’t mind translating. I follow several interpreters/ translator Armies that help immensely with the translations of BTS live programs. LOL, tell your Mom, wife about this so that they can explain to you on how hard it is to he a mother. I am not downplaying the importance of a Father okay? Im just saying that when it comes to motherhood, Moms care is different and much more needed in the early months. Example of which is breastfeeding among many others. That is why moms need a lot more time off than dads.

And giving up earning power due to voluntary pregnancy is different, I think, from mandatory military service in Korea. How much money will the BTS crew lose collectively? What mom will trade places with BTS and lose that cash during prime years? Dads have the job, dad duty, and military duty.

IU is an outlier global talent. If she got married and or had a kid her pull would decline? Not discounting your point entirely but not convinced entirely. How about Jen Im? Joon ki...gives me the creeps bruh. That's all I am gonna say. I never even liked his acting. Never watched DOTS. When I say I find him suuper weird, people think I am a SHK fan or some of his fans even start attacking by saying that I ship SHK with him because of DOTS and can't move on...which basically speaks volumes about how toxic fans of these people are ...and how they fight with each other.

Joong Ki needs to be quiet and go enjoy his new life for a bit. How is first marriage ended was....sketch. Song Kye Hong took the brunt of the fallout and he didn't have the decency to tell her and have her find out via the media. Yo Ah-in needs help w/ his drug abuse...not to be cancelled.
