It's time to fly business class! This time I'm on the Korean Air A330 from Seoul Incheon Airport to Sydney, Australia.
This Korean Air business class flight review covers the Korean Air lounge at Incheon Airport, boarding, take off, the Korean Air inflight service and of course the Korean Air business class seat.

For those of us who don't get to travel in Business class, Incheon still provides a free economy class lounge complete with showers, reclining chairs and a work area. You have to buy the drinks separately though 😉

It opened in time for the winter Olympics. Maybe they did a soft launch first? Either way it's super new. ☺ Terminal 1 is still pretty amazing in terms of facilities it just isn't as beautiful.

@IAmTheBeckett - To provide a lounge for non J / BC is imho fairly unique and makes them a target to try. If you have to buy your drinks ( perfectly reasonable if not flying J or F) that's perfectly okay. As you obvs know the product can J or F pax use the 'standard' lounge just to try it out or do they prefer you to only use ur assigned lounge?

@@C2K777 I've never seen a person checking that you are an economy class passenger or even that you are only transiting so I'm sure they could try it out! They provide so much in part because they are one of the best airports in the world and it sets them apart from the other elite to encourage people to deliberately route through there, but also I suspect as advertising for the country's tourist board. The Korean Cultural Centres in the airport are definitely for that reason. If you have a great layover there maybe next time you'll decide to stay in the country a while (and spend more money which is what they want).

I can attest to that! I'll go as far as to say Korean Air is one of the best airline for quality of service in economy class. Every time I visit Japan I try my best to use Seoul Incheon connection with Korean Air just for their service and the airport. Visited T2 in March, just few month after opening and I loved it! I always take a day layover in Seoul just to enjoy the food.

@@DennisBunnikTravels the airport opened in 2001. They needed a bigger airport because the previous main airport for Seoul wasn't going to be able to handle the amount of people coming through. Also unfortunately there are still a lot of long-haul fleet aircraft that still have the old business class seats where window seat people don't have direct isle access. Also A380 aircraft don't have this business class BTW and only the 747-8i have the new business class. The older 747 don't have this business class.

Nice video! Seoul-Incheon opened in 2001 but the terminal you were in, Terminal 2, only opened in late January this year. Incheon is regarded one of the best airports in the world winning many awards especially from Skytrax and Airport Councils International. One of the only 9 5-star airports (Skytrax). It's been rated cleanest airport for many consecutive years until Changi took over. Must say both are beautiful and fantastic airports nontheless.

The tight turns would be as there round 5 flights coming in from 555am to 6 25 am so they would have fitted you on the downwind to 34l over my house at 35oo feet then left/left for straight in approach...quite simple really but recall 20 odd years ago when KE were poor English speakers that they often made errors. Very true..ask the Qantas guys

To correct you Dennis, the A380 does not have the same seat as this A330 or 748, it has a standard (non-staggered) 2-2-2 seating that's worse.

The good thing about your videos is the pleasure you have in making them and enjoying that part of your international job that most people hate. The bad thing about them is that I get 'homesick' for the lifestyle. Was in a similar job for a few years and I loved it. Watching your videos makes me want to get back to the global nomadism. You're in Terminal 2 of ICN. It's brand new. It just opened up in January this year. Terminal 2 is solely occupied by Korean Air and its SkyTeam partners Air France, KLM, and Delta. Previously, Korean Air shared the main gates in Terminal 1 with Asiana and a few smaller regional airlines. The major foreign carriers operated from the Terminal 1 concourse. Incheon Airport opened less than twenty years ago. It's been dramatically expanded about every five years since then. Over the next two years, Terminal 2 will expand to accommodate all the remaining SkyTeam partners. Also, they plan to build three more concourses and add two more runways. Even before Terminal 2, ICN was already great. It's one of my favorite places to fly through. It's well under rated. Transfers are really well organized. Security is very well staffed and efficient. Transportation is very good. The only real downside to ICN is maybe the lounges. The hub carrier lounges are not as glamorous as what you might find in HKG or SIN.

Thank you for filming this flight. I really enjoyed my business class flights on Korean Airlines more than 10 years ago. At that time, there were only four or five people in business class! The food , especially the meat in the Bulgogi was delicious and the crew was very kind.

Love your commentary and opinions on the food, service, etc. So many travel videos don’t do this and I usually and quickly go watch something else. To me a proper travel video should be informative and the best way to do that is to provide the viewer with your personal comments. Thanks for doing just that. 👍👍

Korean Air has an amazing product!! I flew ICN-YYZ in economy on their B777 and have never been so well fed in my life. Two full meals and two snack services - with metal cutlery. They also give economy passengers a mini amenities kit with a water bottle, toothbrush, toothpaste, eye shades, ear plugs and slippers.

I've never flown them but I want to for sure. I flew thai in first last week from CDG with my father sitting in the middle. The service was so spot on. I flew Finnair going to Europe not anywhere close but still ok. Of course better than most EU carriers. Emirates also very good. But Asian carriers are by far the best to fly with.

I'm a Korean myself, and use Korean air fairly frequently. The gripe I have about them is that their food is lacking far and behind both in quantity and taste compared to other airlines. Also as a side note, Korean Air does not have in-flight wifi at all, it is not just the particular aircraft that you were on. I'm not entirely sure about why this is the case, but can only take a guess that this is due to their history (a complete topic of its own), or they are simply waiting for more new aircrafts to come in before performing the upgrade altogether.

The Incheon airport is great. Every airport that gets long-hauls should have a transit hotel. Everyone needs a shower and a change after getting off a long-haul and it shouldn't just be reserved for the elites. The flight looks excellent but that seat/color scheme reminds me of a dentist chair and I can't get around that.

You must've been really lucky! The A330-300 you were on was one of the LAST A330s Korean Air received! So it came with the top tier Prestige Class product(name of the KE's business class), Prestige Suite. If the A330s were older, it would've been Prestige Sleeper, which doen't offer privacy and aisle access of the Suite. Also, the A380s have only Prestige Sleepers, but ALL 747-8s and some B777-300ERs and B787-9s do come with the Prestige Suite!

The terminal that Korean Air and some SkyTeam airlines use opened in January 2018. Terminal 1 has been open since 2001.

Love the part of the “brown rice infused tea, hope it was good for me, because my taste buds were not impressed”. Stick with the peppermint tea, always a hit. As I've said before, this seat design/configuration would be perfect for BA, being more space efficient than the 1-2-1 herringbone configuration they're understandably keen to avoid whilst also being a lot better than their current set up.

Convinced me to book business uk to Sydney, my first long haul flight since 2019, and no air miles . As it will be a 20 hour layover at Incheon on the return leg, I hope that a hotel is included!

This aircraft seating used to CAN Ho Chi and Syd only but more refits to come . The old style average and F on this plane the same 2/2/2 but always empty except for spare pilot

i envy people who can aford Business class seats haha ive done the London to Seoul Direct 11 hour 50 min flight 3 times now in economy ... now i only just fit in to the seats as im 192 cm tall so my knees press agasint the back of the seat but its not uncomfortable much ! but i always choose isle seats as it would be hard to climb over the other 2 people if i need to stretch .

Nice comment about KE product consistency. Emirates, with A380 Business Class 1-2-1 vs. B777 Business Class 2-3-2, is definitely lacking in that department. Travel, even in premium cabins is wearing, and you looked ready for a nap in Seoul which is not a criticism at all. Even the pros have their stamina tested sometimes.

The problem with Korean Air is that in order to be able to qualify for a business upgrade,....you have to buy an upgradable class ticket which, sadly, most of us economy fliers can't afford. So I just use my miles for award economy seats.

I will fly KA Prestige next year, for the first time. It seems that "noise cancelling" headphones are supplied, but I have so far been unable to find a review that includes mention of these and their performance. it would be great if I could leave my own at home, due to luggage restrictions on other flights I connect with, but I need to know first whether the KA cans work OK. Advice gratefully accepted!

The headphone KA provided in prestige class is very basic and a little uncomfortable to wear for long haul routes. The noise canceling function is pretty limited, Strongly suggest to take your own headphone.
