I guess this still happening. Cancelled society has this going on more often now then before. Eventually it will go away at some point like all other things happening around us for years. It will continue to exist but, will not be mention as often as today generation.
My friend is Indian but her husband is korean and dude they both have these traditions except they both have different types of things to choose . Bro i can feel the pressure on baby to do this custom 2 times in row like so funny my friend and her husband actually try to gesturing her to pick want they want to pick by her..... so funny .....
To be fair, long life doesn't mean happy/healty/just good life. So, if I would be a parent in this situation, I'd also wouldn't consider it as a better option among others😅
Same with Indian parents We have a similar ritual where we have books, gold jewellery and some other things. I picked gold which means I will always be wealthy
@@user-ameriiiiicano I'm from uttarakhand! We have it here! We have things like keys(for good management stuff), Money(ofc), pencil, book, medicine, etc.
@@Moonwalker_Forever haha I don't really pay much attention on those ceremonies I just told what came to my mind. Glad to meet a person from Andhra on the internet!(It rarely happens)
We have something similar to this in our culture but we do it when the child eats rice for the first time. If you choose soil you will have lot of property. If you choose mobey you will be rich. If you choose gold you will have shit ton of gold and if you choose books you would be academically gifted
I'm from india and in our bengali culture we too have this kind of things just the items are different. There would be book, pen, religious book or something very religious, mud or a piece of stone etc( I don't clearly remember all). And the thing is that the relatives MAKES THE BABY TOUCH THE BOOK EVEN WHEN THE BABY IS GOING FOR SOMETHING ELSE. SO YEAH!!!! AND IT MEANS YOU GONNA BE GOOD IN STUDIES AND STUFF 😅 Well for me I picked the stone so it means I'm gonna have a lot of property 😅
help no cuz i picked up the pencil during my dol janchi while my little cousin (a few years later) picked up the money twice and no one even bothered to tell us which one to pick 😭-
When my brother was doing that my parents put the pen and the judge hammer thing in the front and the rest at the back so he dosent pick the other stuff 😭 I picked the coloured paper btw
Wt if the bsby just takes like everything like if the objects are on a plate or something wt if the bsby tskes the plate or grabs allll the itemss sooooo?
Well in India we have the same ritual once a baby attains 6 months of age. The only difference is the items we get to choose from. The meaning is all the same 😊
