We are a Korean family in a rural village in the Philippines. In our simple life here in the countryside, we cooked a Filipino food noodle dish Pancit Bihon. We call this Filipino Bisaya noodles Bam-e or Bam-i in our province!

Before, many Filipinos from the cities considered living in the countryside or province is a low quality lifestyle. But now it's different. Living near the nature is the new luxury.

The more I watch these vlogs, the more I miss my Korean coworker who I look up to like a mother (I used to call her my “mama sang”😊). She taught me a lot and shared with me her Korean cuisine and culture. She and I worked well as a team. We complement each other. When she retired I was bawling for days. After she retired, we kept in touch through phone calls. I’m just sad today when I learned that her husband passed away. They used to hike the Hollywood hills or LA river, play golf and travel together. Now, she’s by herself but goes to babysit her grandkids twice a week and does ballroom dancing once a week. I truly miss her whenever I see this family together.

Loved your Mom and Dad has a positive attitude of living in the Philippines. They really adjusted to the country life. I now realize how lucky we are there of the nice warm weather most of the time. Sorry to hear about your dad's duck. Tell him to build a fence around the duck and chickens. We used to build and put them in a cage/house at night because the mouse eat them. Just my suggestions so your duck will not swim with the storm.

I came from a province in Bicol and after high school immigrated to The USA, I live in one of the biggest cities now, and its not as amazing as people see it in the movies. You don't even know who your neighbor is here, even if you live in the same house or apartment complex, you barely talk to them. Everyone is stressed about so many things and a lot of people are depressed especially in winter time. It's been 15 years now and I still dream of my life in the province. I still can't find the same happiness I had living a simple life, vs now. I can buy anything I want but it doesnt make me feel complete.

That is how we eat bam-i with slice bread and with cold coke cola. This is back in the days where I lived in Cebu. This is an authentic dish. We often times put a chinese sausage together with the pork to capture the aroma. When we have parties this is go-to dish to bring since Filipino spaghetti ingredients are quite expensive nowadays. I prefer Bam-i because of the vegetables. Your channel has potential to grow. I like the provintial life so quite and peaceful. More power !!❤
