I finally made your spicy chili garlic noodles. I had leftovers so I shared them with my neighbors. They loved them! Last week I showed them how to make it and turned them on to your channel. I was speaking to a lady in the grocery store about this dish and she was very interested. She wrote down the name of your channel to check out. Just spreading the good word about good food.😁
The same here in Portland! So I was really glad to see this! I actually mean to go back through the recipes for other dishes that can be done with minimal stovetop work (or stove top things that can be done quick in the morning, then refrigerated). I actually think some of the breakfasts would work very well...
Aaron, thank you. I just received your book in the mail, and I’ve actually read it cover to cover! Excited to make some amazing dinners. I LOVE Korean cuisine. There was a Korean BBQ joint in Phnom Penh called The Broom Tree which I’d frequent. Looking forward to the great meals your book will bring me.
It’s almost 10 pm where I live. Just finished eating this. It was amazing!! The textures and the flavor was deep and complex but it was subtle. It was amazing. Thank you Aaron!!
Love that ~ "my hungry bird at home"! This is the perfect summer dish, right next to my other favorite ~ Japanese cold somen (with ice cubes) with cucumbers, fish cake, umeboshi, bonita flakes, ginger, green onions, cold dipping sauce, wasabi, daikon!! 😋😋😎😎
It gets hotter here every year and the last few years we have had at least one heat wave every summer...this sounds wonderful! Oh, and I love your knives! Claire is so fun and appreciative ❤
Hi Aaron and Claire All your recipes are amazing and delicious. I have tried few already and thinking to try few more. I am wondering is it possible you try Kimchi Jjim and Soon tufo in simpler way.
Looks great! Just a thought, could you list the dry ingredients before the wet, please? I like to follow along with the videos and if I need to add a tbsp of sugar AFTER I've added the soy sauce and mirin, it makes it harder! Love you guys!
why does the order of adding ingredients matter if you're gonna mix it anyway? you're not cooking it at that moment so i don't know why it makes it harder.
@aaronalquiza9680 he's talking about getting the measuring spoon wet makes it so you either have to dry it before scooping dry ingredients or risking contaminating you dry ingredient container
Just made this and it was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be making this again! I think next time I will add some Thai chilis for spice and cilantro for additional freshness!
YUMMMMM YESSSSSSSSS PLEASE LOOKS SOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS AARON. CLAIRE, I WISH I COULD BE YOU, THE TASTE TESTER. YOU HAVE THE BEST JOB EVER. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
It has been sooo humid in Korea lately. I am in gimcheon and we are just not getting sun. Just hot hot rain. Hahah… Nothing beats a good ol’ naengmeon. I recently purchased some mul-naengmeon from the fridge in the supermarket. I plan to cook it tomorrow, let’s hope it satisfies my cooling needs 😂 thank you Aron and Clair. I will definitely try this one out on Sunday. ❤
I love that Claire says it's too pretty to destroy and then immediately, aggressively destroys it but makes sure to save the egg first 😂 What other veggies would you recommend if you want to make it vegetarian? Or is it better to leave it plain?
Made this tonight even though I’m not a cook but wanted to try one of your recipes instead of my dad making it and 😍 I think I would use different noodles (used a different kind than in the video) cause they were really really thin but that beef in the sauce was just so good 🖤
Looks delish! Can't wait to try, minus the cucumber as I'm not a fan, but maybe I'll add some edamame. Love the idea of cold noodles not just in summer but to take to work 👍🏻 Thanks guys I love your videos!
could I use a nutribullet for the sesame seeds? Don't have a mortar and pestle. And that gorgeous egg.... I am getting closer to perfecting it! So happy for this recipe, we have rotated thru all the ramen recipes at least twice. It is our set lunch! 😋😋🥰🥰
It looks delicious 😋 Claire, I do things as a habit too. So it's ok to blow on all the noodles to make sure they are well cook. You know your husband , he is a Chef. The noodles cold or hot are still delicious 😊 Keep Smiling Girl 😊 !!r
My pleasure! Hope they enjoy it! 😍😍😍 (For list of ingredients, please check this out! aaronandclaire.com/ganjang-bibim-guksu-korean-soy-sauce-noodles/)
😋 🍜 🤤 🍜 😋 🍜 Sooo delicious, I’m going to make a midnight snack now.😂 We always make any type of naengmyun or bibim guksu, this is definitely going to be added to our list of summertime noodles! Gamsahamnida Aaron & Claire 💜 🌸 🙇🏻♀️
Have you ever thought about making short videos on how to chop/cut things different ways? I would totally LOVE that, you can cut any vegetable perfectly, I want to learn from you 😂
Yay! Let’s try it! Hope you enjoy it! 🤗 (For list of ingredients, please check this out! aaronandclaire.com/ganjang-bibim-guksu-korean-soy-sauce-noodles/)
Thank you so much for this recipe! Today is my birthday. I made this noodles for breakfast. It passed my Mom's super picky taste buds with flying colors! ❤
My husband and I just made this! It is so delicious. We lived in Korea for 10 years, and loved it. We missed the food terribly until we found your channel. Of course we pre-ordered your book last year, and I still watch this channel. Thank you so much for your inspiration, and the delicious food.
Noodle sauce: 3tbsp soy sauce 2tbsp vinegar 1tbsp sugar 1tbsp corn syrup 2tbsp toasted sesame oil (or perilla oil) A few cracks of black pepper Pinch of MSG Optional: 1tbsp Korean red chili pepper flakes
For the record, this was delicious. My husband (who doesn’t normally like cold pasta) loved this, even without the meat topping. Will be making again with meat
That looks so delicious, I will definitely make them a few times this summer. It's so hot at the moment, this is just the right food for heatwaves. Thank you for the recipe. 😊
This is EXACTLY what i need to start making for my work lunches! Does anyone know the best way to pack this dish? Is it better to combine everything the night before and eat it the next day, or should i separate the noodles, meat, and sauce in different containers and mix them together at work?
Omg guys my story with your channel goes long now. Thankful for what you guys teach. I have made maybe well over 30 times dishes that I like and have tried from you. So many things to say; I just want you to know I have made same day release videos just like I’m going to make with this video. From Dominican Republic a guy and his gf say it’s a hot summer day every day here
You need to take Claire out to the mom pops shops I think the channel should evolve to foods of Korea. Day eating and night life. I miss oma with the duk bo gee. Korean BBQ
Yes, you can! If the recipe calls for only a small amount of corn syrup like 1 tablespoon, you can substitute with honey or sugar. No problem at all! 🙌
Out of curiosity, why place the sesame seeds in a big pile on the side of the dish? It almost looks (aesthetically, at least) like an afterthought rather than intentional. Why not mix the sesame seeds in with the noodles/beef/sauce?
Sesame seeds are usually added at the end for extra flavor. When they are grounded, we definitely prefer adding them at the end because if they get wet, they look unappetizing! lol 😆
I like the flavor of green onions but I don't like the texture of green onions when cut very small like you do. Will the dish work overall if you slice the onions into 4-6cm pieces instead? Because that, for textural reasons, I don't mind as much.
@@AaronandClaire Ah. :D Good to know. I'll keep that in mind as well. I just hope my host wouldn't consider it rude if I requested it that way because I know in certain cultures it can be deemed rude to try to alter the base meal.
I haven't watched you in a while I forgot how funny and sarcastic you were. I love when Claire speaks english but Don't mind when she speaks korean either of course.
I just made this. So simple and sooooo delicious! I’ll be making this again. 😊 I enjoy watching all of your videos. Your food tastes as good as it looks! Thank you.
I tried it tonight (without meat cause I didn't have some on hand), and it was my first non occidental cold noodle dish ever❤ Not disappointed, very fresh and tasty
