I think it's really interesting how in other cultures, they eat tofu AND a meat. Normally, in western cultures, we use tofu OR meat. The tofu generally substitutes a meat (for example, if someone is a vegetarian, etc).

it's called a cheesecloth because it used to be used to make cheese and still is. There are many cheeses that can be made it home along with Greek yogurt and tofu.

Off the Great Wall You are correct Yi. 냉면 [naeng-myun] (cold noodles) are very popular to eat in the summer for Koreans. .콩국수 [kkong-guk-su] (cold noodles in white bean broth) is another favorite too! ^^

How tofu are made.. 1. Beans are soaked in water for few hours. 2. Beans are grounded with water. 3. Grounded beans are ran thru cloth. 4. Solids are either thrown away or used in other dishes. 5. Boil the milky part from step 3 in low heat. 6. Add concentrated sea salt water. 7. Water starts to separate and soft solids start to form. 8. Put the solids in the cloth in the shaped box and drain the water by pressing. 9. Tofu is formed.

That is not how tofu is made. Tofu is made from soy milk that has been made from toy beans that have been soaked and ground to a pulp. The ground soy bean pulp is separated from the milk using a straining cloth. What is left in the cloth is called "okara," and is also eaten, or is fed to animals. The soy milk that is left behind after straining is then heated to a gentle boil. A coagulant is added to the soy milk. The coagulant is one of a variety of magnesium or calcium salts dissolved in a small quantity of water; magnesium citrate is commonly used. After gentle stirring, the soy milk is removed from the heat, and allowed to sit for a few minutes to a few hours. The result is extremely fragile tofu curds floating in a clear solution. This tofu is either eaten as silken tofu, or it is broken up into smaller curds and squeezed back together in a cloth and pressed to form firm tofu.
