NK tanks are cold war era without the modern tech. South Korean have modern tech inside, night vision, thermal sight etc. You guys can literally shoot 5 NK tanks in the night and kill them without them even knowing what hit them. Also ur tanks has better armor and modern projectiles.

shooting on the move is hugely overrated. Most of the kill shots in the Gulf & Ukraine fired by tanks were from immobile tanks. Admittedly it's likelier for the North Korean tanks to be moving to the attack in the early stages of a renewed Korean war, while the SK tanks are on overwatch.

Most North Korean tanks are either direct copies or derivatives of the Russian T-62. Judging from the pictures there's actually very few Chinese influence on their tanks. China got T-54 from Russia in the 1950's and sort of stuck there for a few decades until in the 80's they got support from the west. That's when they were able to roll out the Type 80, Type 88, and Type 96 tanks, culminating with the Type 99, which is much better than anything the North Koreans have. So we have a situation that the North Koreans were initially more advanced, since they had access to Russian T-62 whereas due to the Sino-Soviet split China was stuck with T-54 for a very long time. However, the Chinese were able to catch up in the 80's and now they are way ahead of North Koreans.

Well the North have upgraded variant of T-62 and T-72 which is quite dangerous.... for K1 tank but i am guarantee that fighting K2 Black Panther from the front with those Russian tanks is quite a long task.

They call them "Baby Abrams" because they have many design similarities that the US gave them permission to use... but the K1 and especially the K2 are some of the best in the world and would crush anything NK has... same can be said with the fighter aircraft, APC's, self propelled artillery and pretty much anything....

when you have friends with the most lethal tank in the world M1A, then you know whats going to destroy the enemy, and you want to copy the design for your own army, and train them right

K1/2 is more lighter with less armor and firepower, with more mobility (ability to drive in harsh conditions) since Korean peninsula is filled with mountains. I think that's the case.

Luka Preradović Yes but your still comparing Soviet era tech vs modern tech. I bet those tanks in North Korea lack the advanced electronics, weapon stabilization, and optics that their southern counterparts have. So there armor may be as thick, but that means nothing if they can't see their enemy who can probably spot them over 1km farther then they can. An enemy that has access to things like thermal and night vision on there weapon sights, tech that I doubt the North would have. And if they do it's either a much older generation of tech. Or in short supply given how expensive it is and the embargo's North Korea is under. Another factor is fuel, do the North Koreans even have enough oil reserves to deploy most of their tanks in a prolonged fight against the South? Chances are no, which means there operational range will be limited to half or more meaning a lot of those tanks will be nothing more then static pill boxes that a smart bomb from a jet could take out.

I am not sure if the North Korean tanks have it but Soviet tanks had gun stabilizers since the T64, and before the west put them into their main battle tanks. Though as you mentioned they have basic optics and no thermal imaging. Basically they would be target practice for the more modern Korean and of course American tanks. S Korea still has a lot of M47/48s and M60s in their arsenal which would be more in line with the N Korean tanks the S Korean tankers would be better trained.

Just in very few words : It is a major mistake to compare the 1991 aggression against Iraq with the supposed war between DPRK and the Donkey americans alongside the puppet regime in the occupied southern part of the Korean peninsula. The Iraqi political and military leadership was not efficient or dynamic while the Iraqi army had not give any opportunity to study the enemy and the theater of operations is completely different , in the 1991 aggression our political leadership wanted to fight a comprehensive strategic war with a tools and means of a tactical nature the practical experience between 2003-2010 in Iraq and in continue in Afghanistan showed that when the Donkey americans were stripped of their qualitative superiority elements, here the most important is the ( heavy , close , direct ) fire support elements either provided from the sky , ground or the sea ( along with other elements such as communications and reconnaissance )Their forces on the ground would collapse very quickly especially when faced with overwhelming firepower which DPRK is more capable of launching those Intensive and focused firepower . I agree the DY americans possess a huge kusforces and it like to play with it alot and I am sure DPRK will satisfy and please this huge kus force with their large arsenal of heavy and big , precision various types of : surface2surface missiles and cruise missiles . this huge DY american kus force will essentially be torn apart and crushed for the start on the ground . This is a totally different war and cannot be compared even to the first Korean War when the DY americans enjoyed the strategic freedom of action and movement (or the strategic flexibility ) in forces and firepower , in and around the korean peninsula . This supposed war It will not be fast but painful enough at least on the DY american forces inside the korean peninsula , Although the Donkey americans are generally stuiped enough but I doubt that they will dare to use its nuclear weapons even in the face of the DPRK's destruction of nuclear and chemical and petro chemica installations inside the southern part beside many other strategic and vital sites which they will do to create a catastrophic disasters and overwhelm the DY americans effort along with puppet regime the southern part , because any use of nuclear weapon from the DY americans on the korean peninsula will put washington in direct confrontation with Beijing , then belive me the DY americans will be wiped out even from the pages of history and what will remain of them only a myth just like atlantis civilization .
