My mother served in the Swedish field hospital in Busan during the war as a nurse. Now I collect everything I can find here in Sweden from reletives of veterans to remember the forgotten war. 67 countries participated together for peace and democracy without mutually contradicting each other. all stood up for South Korea's freedom. many countries including Sweden participated as a healthcare unit. Sweden lost no life in the war, so many others did. It did, however, affect the Swedes deeply and our children to the veterans are always reminded of the war and the importance of protecting peace and democracy. korea is a big part of my life and i carry the country in my heart forever. a country that feels like a second home.
Philippines soldiers is one of the greatest fighters that time, they sacrifice their lives for the other country. Proud Filipino here, salute for them.
I never really knew much about Korea's involvement in the Vietnam War until I met a substitute teacher who was a Vietnam Vet. He asked me if I was Korean after he took attendance. He then informed the whole class about South Korean soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War. I was deeply humbled by the man and it made me realize how proud I should be of my Korean heritage.
belgianman, i was there, and the flag was there. but anywho, thank you to the belgian veterans, their sacrifice has made korea strong. Immense respect and thanks goes to our numerous Belgian friends from Korea.
Rest in peace to the Philippines soldiers who die during the Korean war, and mabuhay to all veterans soldier who fight for thier might, as I watching all the videos, my heart is fluttering, my tears is running, I don't why, I know while they are fighting may be they prayed hard to God, 1000 Filipinos Soldiers against 40,000 North Korean @ Chinese Soldiers. So great how they do it. The God of heavens help Filipino soldiers, while there fighting the family, the relatives and whole country praying for them.I know the powerful God is with them.

I would like to thank all the countries that fought alongside South Korea. But the Korean War is often dubbed "The Forgotten War". In the US we hardly studied it during history class. Also it was never mentioned that over 300,000 South Koreans fought in Vietnam.
sorry if my words were tough...but I really mean our participation in this war...I'm self student in Korea history and Korea war is my favorite part, UNFORTUNATELY...I mean favorite to say I want become an expert of this tragic time...
I saw a Belgium flag there and lots of information at the war museum about the Belgium participation If there was no Belgium marching band at this parade it was because they didnt currently have one there
we have a parade/tradition like this in the philippines (BAGUIO). well not really the same but,, you know? the military PMA, the flower minus those fighter jets ha ha. very colorful ah? nice shots sir michael. when did this happen?
Johnny Vegiga indeed..almost all allied nations retreated in the battle of Yultong but the Fighting Filipinos stand the ground and fought like lions..ratio is 1 to 40..imagine..how they survived in that battle..no retreat no surrender👊👊👊kudos to all korean war vets..

its been real nice here lately long sleevs shirts, im so happy great day for a parade thanks for commenting did u adjust your subscription settings Perla ?
@michaelarnold13 Not really. I was reading the comments regarding the military & wars. What a sacrifice! My son thought of the Navy after uni graduation for graduate school. I said NO. They will send you straight to Afghanistan. My heart aches for all the fallen soldiers. I need to catch up on your vids. :) The vid quality is fantastic!
I noticed that the scale of South Korea's military parades have become smaller in recent years. I remember the Armed Forces Day Parades in the 80's were huge.
@michaelarnold13 In the period of 1966 - 1969, sometimes called the Second Korean War, 342 ROK and US soldiers were killed, 661 wounded. 397 North Koreans were killed, and 12 NK soldiers and 2462 agents were captured. Source: Wikipedia. Some people have never heard of this. Jim
ive read about this in the past there have been a few Korean movies made about some of this i think it would make for a great American movie spies, skirmishes, espionage missions love secret history
By the way I've made analyze and test, and korean people, instead of knowing that belgium was participated in this war as UN troops, they even don't know what they did. As belgian as I am, it's normal I want to tell them...That's also a part of my hard work...I've been working for about 1 year to organize all belgian operations in this war. If you want to know, just send me an mp^^ I will let you know.
@belgianman Worry not friend, even if the flag is missing from the screen, every single flag of our friends is burned into our hearts. We do not forget friends, as we do not forget enemies.
I'm a filipino citizen, i want to find out and witness 50th anniversary during KOREAN WAR, it's nice to be thr, my great grandfather he is filipino soldiers to send S. KOREA, BUSAN. Better to here in RU-vid. Hehehhh...!!!!
from what i read in history class South Korea is probably my favorite Asian Allie because they never gave up the fight with North Korea showing those Commies whose the better person along side japan
Well I dont know if they taught you in China but during the Korean was a coalition force almost had the entire peninsula of Korea under their control. Unfortunately a Chinese force assaulted them and they were pushed back to the 38th parallel. This led to the unfortunate battle for the Chosin reservoir and the loss of many lives. Thats what Im trying to say.
i don´t like nothing about military i just can remember fight and war but if i can see different cultures i like it XDDD here 2 weeks ago in 200 years of mexico independence be a similar parade with military of differents countries but i don´t saw it becouse i did not know it u.u XD
@michaelarnold13 Been busy. I appreciate film editors! Have been compiling & editing into 3 part videos my son's video clips & photos. He spent 4 weeks in Costa Rica student community volunteer family home stay in a rural town & adventure fun tour. A paradise, cloud mountain rain forests...& all that goes w/ it white water rafting, rappelling down side of waterfalls, climbing giant rain forest trees, kayaking, natural hot mud springs, volcanoes & milking cows! He had a fantastic time! :)
i had to go to the embassy and i heard something might be going on I asked a cop and he told me was really cool and some parts kinda sad when i saw the vets from all these countries i thought about all the suffering on all sides The Korean War began on June 25th, 1950 and technically continues to this day, although a ceasefire was signed on July 27th, 1953. An estimated 10 million people died during the war.
No it's not true. In the military base where I have served for military service. We have a huge wall dedicated to all the people who have fought for us. I used to remember the number of troops from not only Belgium but also all 16 country who sent the actual battle troops including 2 country who sent the medical troop.
was wondering id this was some kinda holiday for the koreans . or just a show of power since the north was crying about something or other? danny in ohio
the older i get the more crazy i think self induced war is sure, be prepared because there are some pretty insane goverments around but sad we have to live in fear of the ultinate form of suffering and hate enforcement thanks for commenting my friend
there were flags and people all represented from the 16 countries (I belive 16) i even think I saw the Ethopian flag Nobody forgets who helped during this terrible war and all the lives that were lost
its such a shame, I didnt ever see the belgium flag....However during korea war, We saved a lot of korean, US and english troops in the battle of Imjin with the puerto rican troops....How could they forget us??? I should go there kick their asses and make them remember we also fought in this war...A lot of countries participated, yes, but it should also be a duty of remember us....
