you could try to “pantig” (syllable) to not get confused when reading or writing in tagalog. Like “ma-gan-da” or “i-nga-tan”. its kinda like grouping letters to form a sound and grouping sounds to form a word. Goodluck on you Tagalog lessons Sylvia!

This is how I also study korean (more on vocabs and phrases). I write everything in hangul then dissect each words/sentence/phrases and go as far as look for its different forms (base, past, present, future etc.). The repetition helps and most of the words are also found on other songs so I find this method fun and effective for me and the feeling of understanding most of the lyrics is just amazing. I hope Sylvia feels the same way for Tagalog.

Glad that you listened to my suggestion (maybe I was not the only one) to learn Tagalog through Filipino songs. 👍 It will help you learn faster. But note some songs use words not used in conversation like tangi and use Lang instead. Also good that you write the words down. I like your method.

Hi Sylvia!!! I admire you for learning Tagalog. Memorizing Tagalog words and phrases will only help you in enriching your vocabulary but will not help you speak fluently. The best thing to do is to have a Pilipino who speaks fluent Tagalog and let him/her converse/speak with you always in Tagalog and you try to understand by asking whatever he/she says and you try to answer/speak also in Tagalog. Do this everytime you're together. The longer the better 'coz it will polish your pronunciation as you hear the words. Regards to Jessica. Annyeong!!!

Yup! The Filipino language is full of letter 'A's! It's overwhelming at first but, as you go along, you'll get accustomed to it. Thank you for the interest on studying the Filipino language. I'm currently studying the Korean language, too. Glad that many Filipinos and Koreans do this cultural exchange. Studying the language of the country is studying it's people's psyche, it's history, it's customs, etc. Good luck, Sylvia! Slay it! P.S. Filipino language - one of the official languages alongside the English language. Tagalog - a regional language mostly spoken in the central and southern part of Luzon. It is one of the many languages that serve as building blocks of the Filipino language.

Try to look for ABACADA books (i dont know if it still exist) its what we used in grade school. Tagalog is easy to read because you just have to read it as it is, there's no silent letter. try to listen to ABCD song for the accent. goodluck 🔥❤️

Its so great to see a korean trying to learn our language , looking forward to see sylvia speaking in tagalog fluently. Padayon ate Sylvia. Be ready in learning prefixes (unlapi) and suffixes(hulapi), gitlapi etc. cause it changes the meaning of a tagalog word significantly. Ps: I think tongue position also matters. Its just my observation and opinion , koreans having a hard time pronouncing "R" and i think it is because of tongue positions. (sorry for my bad english )
